The "Preview" Thread
the ghost replied to DBru's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Hey guys...two brans spanking new projects I am working on. The first is a boulder dash inspired terrain coaster with a little help from Dmaxsba. Th e coaster is just a little design, not for ne, but just something for fun. My second project isa a new NCSO park called Sycamore Bay! It is a (currently) family owned park in Northern California! SCR65.BMP layout! SCR67.BMP Drop with small lake below! SCR68.BMP High speed turnaround...through the TREES! SCR76.BMP Here is the classic Thunderbolt Bobs... it is a CCI design inspired by classic coasters. SCR77.BMP A good idea of the classic layout. Somee major airtime to be had! SCR76.BMP Lakeside District. This is clearly a major work in progress and in the following days/weeks when I update everything will look much nicer. There will also be another family oriented land added before this gets its own thread! -

Remember my motto, if its Disney its the best \ regardless of where you are or what it is as long as its not a live action comedy. Meaning everything at Disney is a must do! Awesome trip report! -

I need to get there ASAP! The disney parks are my favorites in the world, and I have been to every US Disney park, but after seeing all these amazing photos I now have a quest: To visit every Disney park in the world. Everything looked amazing and this was an awesome TR! -

Lucky. My parents are not coaster people hence we NEVER go to theme parks on vacation except for the one time we went to WDW as a family in 2000. You get to take the best vacations and trips ever and enjoy them together! -

I like TPR so much better than NE. Its a game to which people can contribute as much time and effort as they want. Its really all ab out creativity, and thats why I enjoy all the awesome parks like the heavily modded but awesome pirate bay to the simple charming parks that will never win a design. This is not to say you wont win, because if I was a judge the second I saw this design you'd automatically have an accolade. Most importantly have fun. Also regardless of if you get design or not we LOVE to see your work here. Keep it up, you are still relatively new here(meaning you've been on tpr for less than a year)and we can all see your a VERY fast learner with CRAZY potential. The Good Luck, Sax Ghost -
Lol. I love your avatar by the way, phineas and ferb is the best Disney animated show in years. Also half past 2 and a band called save the swim team added according to last.fm.

Why are tickets for HHN so inexpensive on opening day. That is a VERY ideal ticket price and a good day for me to go but there must be some reason why its so cheap. Does anyone know why? Knotts was seemingly just as good a few years ago on one of the earlier nights of the season and it was pretty dead. Is HHN the same way. As a first timer should I wait until further in the season for full scare value?

^ Awesome lineup there. Love Stone Sour and Disturbed, although I personally did not care much for airbourne when they played mayhem fest. Disturbed is an AWESOME live show though! Anyway, just bought tickets for Locally grown which is Chase Long Beach, Starpool and Suburban Legends all opening for Reel Big Fish. It should be awesome!

Unless its a mod hes not. The only water ride in ROA is the canoes, and that is too big for a canoe. -
Knott's Haunt - 2010 Enthusiast Event!
the ghost replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Robb's jacket of patches must be brought back for this one night only event! Oh the horror! I so wish I could make it this year, but funds are very tight for the time being and I have decided to go to HHN this year and take my first break from haunt in 7 years. Have an awesome time everyone! -
I agree with everyone else except Jordison. I do not think he is the best drummer in the world, but hes a DAMN good drummer. I dont know what makes Barker so special, it sounds like average punk(well, blinks not really punk, more like power pop) to me. It depends on what you like though. Slipknot, which is one of my favorite bands, is not necessarily about rhythm or complexity, but a REALLY fast simplistic beat. People like Portnoy are prog drummers, so there drumming is more complex and still pretty damn fast, but not quite as heavy. I still dont agree with the list in many cases though.

Awesome. If I had RCT3 I would so try to make one. Come on TPR, let your creativity show! -
^ I kind of agree. I am totally amazed the director or the usher haven't been in Hollywood. Sure, the director was kind of an icon that one year, but he was SUCH a small part of the event, and no one really knew who he was. Both characters translate well, and I am VERY surprised we aren't seeing the usher this year, especially considering he fits in better at Hollywood than Orlando because we have all the actual movie stuff. However, La Lorena would be pretty cool. There was an ok maze at knotts last year, but they did it very bright and more Mexican cultural stuff than anything else. I am interested to see how this translates into a scare zone though, I know very little about the legend, but are there other scaractors? The boogeyman bear sounds kind of weird, and I honestly don't know what else will be in there.

^ Agreed! Jason, Chucky, and Freddy are all VERY marketable, and are large properties in Universals current project to remake many classic horror films. The thing is HHN hollywood is different than Orlando, there is really not enough space to go all out on a crazy theme as there will be 5 or so mazes and a tram. The park has "icons" but the icons are freddy and jason and characters people know. Also besides Howl O Scream, which is about an hour away from Orlando, HHN Orlando is really the only adult oriented haunt. Universal Hollywood needs to market characters that people know to bring in the masses as HHN is competing with another GIANT haunt event with knotts haunt. Lets face it, if you are the average person and you hear "Jack the Clown is getting a house this year" you'll think "who the hell is jack the clown." Freddy and Jason are infamous enough to g beyond generations and still be well known. I am not saying in the future the park shouldn't strive for more, but for now it is a relatively new comer considering that Haunt has been going on for a VERY long time and has a lot of VERY devoted fans. Maybe HHN will become So Cals main haunt scene, but for now they need characters and concepts to draw people in to build their fan following. It seems to be working too, from what I hear(this year will be my first HHN, but I have been going to haunt for the past 5 or 6 years) HHN is a DAMN good event, and many seem to love it. I am very excited for the event and cant wait to finally enter scenes from my favorite horror movies!
