New 2011: Rainbow Magicland Themepark (near Rome - Italy)
the ghost replied to Ledgy's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I've said it before and I'll say it again, this park looks awesome. That is an awesome coaster collection that adheres to pretty much every demographic, an X car, a mauer(or is it a gerstlauer) spinner, and a presumably well themed vekoma mine train in which theming needs to be added... based on what I am seeing in the rest of this park I would be VERY surprised if it would not be. Hopefully this gets added to a TPR Europe trip sometime in the future as this park has a seemingly fantastic ride collection, a very highly themed atmosphere, and looks amazing in general! -
How were scares in comparison to Knotts or Universal? I find HHN terrifyingm, but knotts is kind of meh for me. I would love to visit this, but I dont want to go alone and my friends want to do knotts, despite the fact weve all done it before, so if it is scarrier I can try and convice them hopefully.

QFT! Go see let me in now and kill the modern vamps. If anyone wants a contemporary movie with vampires that dont break any classic vampire rules(like going out during the day...WTF TWILIGHT) then I highly recommend seeing this film. This movie is so good... a perfect movie with an amazing ambiance, which makes up for its lack of jump out of your seat scares. Also an awesome remake! 10/10

^Disneyparks twitter said they're going to be old school 80s arcade games. I am very impressed Disney took a simple event like glowfest, which they didnt even create, and turn it into something so cool! I am very happy with what I am seeing. Also, those costumes are AWESOME! I was at DL tonight for halloween festivities, but I'll try to remember to take some pictures when I go back next Thursday!

Geauga Lake Discussion Thread
the ghost replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Dear JMan. If you are reading this thread and if it is not somehow too late, can Desmond appear in Hoodie the Threequel? Also Robb, this was the most awesome thing ever. Maybe someday Desmond will come back. Either way, his memory is preserved as I will continue to follow him on twitter. Also, my new favorite thing ever is the fact that about half of BlobbAlveys twitter followers are TPR members saying that BlobbAlvey is a stupid account. Thats awesome. Awesome job guys. Part of every great comedy is timing, you ended at the exact right time with class while keeping us laughing all the while. -

The sad part is the people don't realize Prince Desmond is proving a point. He made a twitter, a facebook, add space, and many other things required for a major project. Hell, the haunted house Brent works at(hopefully be seeing it soon) has a facebook and a twitter page, and it is open for about one month a year. Just out of pure curiosity, is Prince Desmond the Nigerian Prince you get scam emails from? Either way, Kudos to everyone involved! -
FAIL! Halloween is for scary movies! Not Terminator. Whose got some recommendations for a Halloween Movie Marathon! Make it as offensive, gory, scary, freaky, whatever, I have no limits and will watch most anything as long as its good. ^^ Starr... I recommend the film Trick R Treat. It is often considered to be the best straight to DVD movie of all time and is considered to be one of the best recent horror movies along horror fans. It is very fun and VERY entertaining, and although it is a lot of fun and is a movie that sets an awesome feeling for the season. It is very good as well, because it is also set on Halloween Night, which, unlike a lot of horror movies gives it a true Halloween feel. Also I recommend seeing Let me in(I have heard good things) or Let the Right One In, which is an awesome film.

COUNT CHOCULA IS AWESOME! The cereal is absolutely delicious and totally brings in the awesomeness of the Halloween season for me!

^^ It seems somehow Dave has been working with Linnanmäki. Thats the only explanation I can think of for a kids dinosaur heavy metal band! That is AWESOME! -
Any Knott's Haunt and HHN USH advice?
the ghost replied to shepp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ I went on opening day to HHN, so this may be different, but heres some advice. Also we did every maze, attraction besides NOES and the mummy as there was a lack of time. 1. Head to house of 1000 corpses first. Its towards the back, but it had a 70 minute line all night. It is also IMO the best maze there. 2. Friday the 13th is not too far and also pretty awesome, second favorite maze of the night. 3. Try to hit the lower lot as early as possible, but try hitting the first two first. The crowds take a while to get to the lower lot from experience, and for some reason the saw line moved very slowly. 4. Skip the rides, they do nothing for halloween except Jurassic Park, and thats only some strobe effects in the t rex room. 5. See the final show of Bill and Ted. I believe it stays open after the park, because if I remember right the park closed at one, but the show started at 1:15. It was weird and we were all kind of confused by that, but if thats still the case(showtimes will be on the wait times list) then use the rest of the night for houses. 6. The line for the terror tram seemed to move very fast considering the que was partially full, but we were on in about 10 minutes. 7. Get there early. We knocked out a house, the simpsons ride, and we were on the terror tram within an hour of arrival. Expect long lines, but it is an awesome event and is the scariest haunt Ive ever been to, and Ive done Knotts for years. It is very cool, detailed and you really do feel like your in a movie, which is incredible. Have an awesome and terrifying time! -

Also they're not rich. If this coaster is being put up by donation alone(which it kind of sounds like) this project is more dead than I though. They don't have land(like devious said they did), money(like devious said they did), and it hasn't been surveyed yet(like devious said it was). That one post pretty much destroyed every major supporters credibility and proved Robb's point. These people do not know what they're doing AT ALL and this project will not happen. They have none of the resources necessary and probably spent essentially everything on this coaster. Sure, I like a classic old coaster, but things close, coasters go. It is inevitable. I think people are in a saving mode because of the Blue Streak, but the Blue Streak was built, had trains, and was already at an amusement park. I feel kind of bad for these people, but there are some things you just don't do, period. Buying a coaster in pieces without it being surveyed, without having land, without anything is just stupid. I still can't figure out who the hell this Jeff guy is that Devious talked about. I have heard of Kat and Harold. Is there a Jeff? Or did Devious make him up? I'm confused. The Facepalm Ghost -
Photo TR: The Wood Coasters of North America
the ghost replied to Noxegon's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Holy hell. This is crazy! Especially considering you're only thirty. You must be some kind of roller coaster riding billionare to have all that time to ride coasters. Either way, thats crazy impressive. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if you are the first person to ride every wooden coaster in North America. You should call guiness, cause your credit count may honestly be a world record. You are my hero! -

^ Thanks for the pictures! My eyes must have been playing tricks on me, because the layout seems much more feasible now! Thank you! -
Why would we talk about motley crue? They've had their time. Also the Crue just recently toured with Ozzy and Priest headlining ozzfest!

Robb's right. The entire thing seems shady. Two people who don't own or appear to know anything about a coaster are not going to buy one. Two people bought a coaster who likely do not have the financial means to re-locate or operate the ride or really do anything with it. In my opinion the roller coaster is likely to not operate again, and it is probably two people who reacted out of emotions before they knew what they were doing! -

New 2011: Rainbow Magicland Themepark (near Rome - Italy)

This park looks great! That main street looks VERY highly themed, although there does not seem to be a central theme and there are random snakes in buildings and things like that, but the theming looks great. This looks like a fine edition to Europe's awesome theme park collection! Also, how does the element(the one closest in the foreground of the camrea) work? I see it invert into a barrel/zero g roll type thing, but I cant quite figure out where that element either starts or stops. If that is the end of the element then where do you initially invert seeing as the track already appears to be inverted before exiting the element. If thats the beginning of the element where does the inversion end? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? -

Very nice park! Good job! -
Recently I found a ska punk band called We are the Union that I am really enjoying. They are more like Streetlight than bands like Reel Big Fish, but there music is more traditional punk then Streetlight. Their music is fun to listen to and very mosh friendly, and unlike some ska bands this band would not feel out of place at a punk show or something like that. If punk or ska is your thing I suggest checking them out!

Girl falls in open sewer while texting
the ghost replied to chemical_echo's topic in Random, Random, Random
^ Theres a difference between bumping into something and falling into a sewer. For one sewers are relatively large, large enough for the girl to fall through. Honestly the city should have done something, but I hate texting in general. It seems so pointless considering had she been calling someone she should have been fine. I will call someone over texting someone any day and there are very few times when you are able to text but you are unable to call someone. I am a teenager and I am able to text, but I do occasionally, but calling is a much better alternative. Texting is causing way too many accidents for what it is. -
Evolution. I was brought up in the church, but am quickly turning from religion. It just has never made things easier or anything and I kind of feel like church is one of my many college classes where I scratch my head and wonder "when am I going to use this in life." I personally believe everything is kind of a cycle and I do not believe everything happens for a reason. Our race was and is very lucky as each event, such as the big bang, created a somewhat luck based cycle that began human evolution. Religion is fine, but I honestly believe many religious people choose to turn to religion because it makes them feel good or helps them answers questions that do not really have answers. Evolution is one of those things, we will never know 100% what happened where or why or how it happened, despite having very good ideas based on science, and books like the bible and explain what happened very simply despite not working with scientific data. There will never necessarily be a right view point, just one is based on a system of beliefs and one is based on science. The real question is are you willing to put your faith in scientists who supposedly have data? Or will you follow ancient teachings and have faith in a god that is all powerful and created earth. Personally I have more faith in the scientists, but I would never question anyone choosing to have faith in god. In the end its all a matter of science versus faith IMO.

What's your favorite Flat ride?
the ghost replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Huss Top Spin for me or an ARM tower. The zipper is the only ride I have ever ridden that makes me feel sick, but I'll give it a reride since its been a while next time the fair is in town. I just love turning upside down quick and kind of being whipped upside down, like a top spin! ARM towers speak for themselves. It feels like you get launched downwards, what an awesome feeling!
