  1. I will cover two states for you. Utah & Washington.
  2. Here's another post card of "The Great American Revolution" You can clearly see three trains operating out on the ride, there is probablly one in the station and one in the holding brakes. Now that the way to run a ride! Magic Mountains's Revolution it'll knock your socks flat off! 3 trains, no head rests, no over the shoulder restraints...this is classic Anton!
  3. Hey thanks for the pics and preview! I am heading there tomorrow. Can't wait for those snicker bars!
  4. Yes the JetScream was originally located where Batman stands today. I know I have a "Viper" postcard somewhere, but until I can find it, here is my daily contribution. artistic enhancement of "Bloop the Troll" courtesty of Shane age 11 This ride is the "cat's meow" and when it first opened they actually ran 5 trains on the ride!!!! At times one train would actually thread the loop while the other circled the loop. It was the coolest thing to see.
  5. Thanks DenDen for the great compliment. I have tried to love Sordid Lives but it just isn't the same without Delta!
  6. Sorry Mark, I don't have that one. Wouldn't it great if the marketing people from parks read this thread and went back into their archives and pulled out some of the great old ads to post here... hint hint
  7. My contribution for the day.... Does anyone remember that this ride ever existed?
  8. ^corn starch will help dry up any unpleasant moistness.
  9. ^ I wouild assume that, yes it is from 1993. I don't care what anyone says, I liked Flashback. The layout was unique and fun, it was the trains that sucked. Could you imagine that ride with floorless B&M trains? That would've rocked!
  10. Congratulations! Welcome to the Top 20 -from #17
  11. Here's my contribution for the day. Flashback
  12. I would love to see your version of King Kobra. Post the link here. That short video clip I made 20 years ago when I was in college. I had just learned how to use a video editing bay when I put that together.
  13. ^Yes I do have that (Excalibur)
  14. I love the colors of this ride!
  15. This is a fun thread! Here is a preview of the first post coming to Shane's Amusement Attic Season 2! Remember when it was white? LooperDooperSooper - back SooperDooperLooper - front
  16. We are just days away from the debut of Season 2! A new feature of the attic will be "Shane's Retro VCR" Here's a teaser... I am going thru the files now and gathering interesting stuff to post. Now is the time to give me your ideas, suggestions and resquests, and if I have it I will make sure I get it on here. So let me know what you want to see. (remember my files do not extend beyond 1978, I am not that old) -Shane
  17. Oh, and how about these from another "closed for the wrong reasons" park.
  18. I love this thread! I love park postcards. Here's one I'd like to contribute to your collection. -Shane PS- I am almost ready to start Season 2 of the Amusement Attic, look for it around the first of October!
  19. ^Plus when Jazzland first opened you wouldn't want to visit it during the day. There was practically no landscape and no shade. Nights were pleasant but day visits where unbearable.
  20. I like seeing the old "Jazzland" logo. This is such a strange amusement park story. I remember them talking about building this park right around the time that Ponchartrain Park closed. But they really had trouble raising the cash. For years I would see renderings at the IAAPA convention but nothing ever happened. Then all the sudden it was on, unfortunately it missed all their projections and that is why Six Flags got it for such a steel. I see that they are now starting to move more rides out and relocate them to other parks. *tap*tap* - that is the sounds of the final nail... PS- you made me proud!
  21. Mark- This is a GREAT thread! I love seeing these postcards. I hope it will inspire others to scan their postcard collections and post them here. I know I am going through my files right now. Post cards are the one souvenier I still collect to this day. Great Idea Great thread Keep them coming!!!! -Shane
  22. ^Yes I did know that, but that is not the ride that interests me. It is Katapul that I love!!!!!
  23. Thanks for getting us the original location of the Free Fall.
  24. Yes it is from Geauga Lake but it sounds like they will be utilizing the new style of trains. It will be interesting for us in the States to see how much better this type of ride can be with a new restraint system. This ride seems like a nice fit for Carowinds for the time being...but bring on the Hyper Coaster soon please!
  25. Hmmm that's funny these things have made the wait in lines much, much shorter for me!
