No, because you'd be eating bald eagles for thanksgiving. Not much of a drumstick, but the wings are huge. -

Hey, Kangaroos are nice. (especially chargrilled medium rare with a nice redcurrant sauce) What other country gets to eat their coat of arms? (Kangaroo and Emu) -
Ronald Reagan? The actor?! And who's vice president, Jerry Lewis?! <-------- Also of note. Back to the future of course! Some of my all time favourite movies were from the 80's: Back to the future trilogy India Jones Top Gun Caddyshack Porkys Airplane (called Flying High in Australia) Predator The Terminator

Just when India seemed to be cruising to another huge score, test debutant Jason Krejza struck with bowling figures of 8-215 to restrict India's total to 441. The Australian selectors must have egg on their faces by not playing Krejza in the first 3 tests, otherwise why take him to India in the first place? And a nice innings by Simon Katich (92no) who apparently attacked the Indian bowling with real purpose and took Australia to 2-189 by the close of the second day's play.

and I'm pretty sure that the pitch will be prepared to favour a draw, rather than an outcome. Anyway, bring on the Kiwi's at least we're assured of a win to get our confidence/form back.

I'm pretty sure this is only a 4 test series, so India just have to draw the Nagpur test to win the series.

^ It's about time Michael Clarke came good when the pressure is on. Except for Clarke's hot babe fiance, Lara Bingle, how is Clarke "way better than Ricky Ponting" Michael Clarke: Innings: 59 Aggregate: 2433 Average: 46.79 Ricky Ponting Innings: 204 Aggregate: 10333 Average: 58.05 Michael Clarke's fiance, Lara Bingle

AUSTRALIA are 0-50 at stumps on day two after India declared their first innings at 7-613, with both Gautam Gambhir and VVS Laxman scoring 200-plus. Well the good news is Australia hasn't lost any wickets, best they can hope for now is a draw, I think India batted on 100 runs too long. Australia really need a quality spinner to pressure India on the flat decks.

"The concept will involve two separate conferences - an eastern division based in Africa and a western division in Australasia - and the top sides from each will progress to the finals" I know travel costs would be expensive, but I think that it would be more interesting to have all the teams play each other before the finals. eg Adelaide v CapeTown, Melbourne v Durban, Auckland v Nairobi etc.

Pakistan test cricketer Younis Khan has not had an auspicious start to his stint playing for South Australia this (southern) summer: - In his first one day match he only scored 3 - In his first 4 day match he scored a golden duck He'd want to get into form pretty quickly, as we don't need imports taking the spot of local talent if they aren't going to perform any better.

Definitely yes Big Mike, I'd be shattered not to get my "speaking in the first person" fix in 2009. But what is your goal for next year? You set the 2008 bar to Beijing gold medal heights (if only your drug test didn't come back negative you would have been on the podium), what have you left yourself to achieve in 2009?

please use a different word. What's so offensive about "band"?

The Aussies are history, will be lucky to make it past lunch. Matthew Hayden - you've been a wonderful player but it's time to let a younger player take your spot. Ponting out to Sharma again!

There is nothing wrong with a bit of gamesmanship on the field, providing it doesn't get too personal or aggressive. Players should be able to shake hands at the end of the day and have a beer together afterwards. The problem recently is that players are being a bit too precious, they are treating it like a war instead of just a highly paid sport.

The test crowds are well down in this series. Is it only Australia and England that still hold test cricket as the ultimate form of the game (ie the Ashes). Seems like the rest of the world prefer one day or 20/20.

start rant: Hey we know this is a US-centric website, but you do realise that there is a world outside the US, where people have different sporting tastes? Sports are not just about Gridiron, Baseball, Basketball & Ice Hockey. Threads in the Random forum are not just about what death metal band has just released their long awaited album that nobody will remember in 12 months time, or whether video game a) is better than video game b). Cricket is followed by billions (I'm serious) of people worldwide, so I'm sure we can get some interest on these boards from our friends in Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, England, Bangladesh, West Indies (& maybe Zimbabwe if there is anyone left). Not a coincidence but most of these countries were/are part of the British Commonwealth, and supporters of these nations are spread far and wide around the world, even if cricket is not a major sport in their current country of residence. :end rant (takes deep breath and has another sip of coffee) Anyway, congratulations to the little master Sachin Tendulkar for passing Brian Lara's run record. India is in a strong position at the end of day 1 against Australia. I think Australia will struggle from here, and pay the price of not having a world class spinner in their attack. (Bring back Shane Warne) Brian (20/20 cricket is taking over the world, get ready) Jones

Absolutely! Aussie Aussie Aussie, oy oy oy. How is it that someone in the USA has an interest in cricket? Brian CricketAustraliaLogo.bmp

Capetown/Sydney = 6842 miles Capetown/New York = 7797 miles Welcome to the Southern Hemisphere! What a fantastic wedding gift, you're very lucky. I suppose I'm stating the obvious, but take lots of photos and videos. Make a DVD with you telling them how much you appreciate them at every location. That should bring a smile to their face (and a touch of jealousy) Brian

Big Mike - your self promotion doesn't seem to be working, there is 1 person in the world who hasn't heard of you. Brian "how the hell can you miss 176 pages of Big Mike" Jones
