Probably because they are really good coasters? -
When does an element become an inversion?
chickenbowl replied to Marney's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes / end thread -
RMC actually incorporates a ton of laterals into their designs. They all have them! Definitely. I've only been on Twisted Colossus, but it absolutely has a good mix of laterals. Could someone name a spot on one of the RMCs that has sustained laterals, just so we can be sure we're talking about the same thing? Because that's what I like, sustained laterals, not the brief jabs you get from the banking twisting around (which RMCs obviously have tons of). This might sound like splitting hairs but for instance I love all the flat turns on the Legend whereas the stengel dives on Maverick don't do much for me. There was actually a thread devoted to this distinction: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1434554#p1434554 p1434554 A couple physics smarties gave some good info on it. - The whole turn immediately following the stall on Outlaw Run - The whole turn immediately following the zero-g on Medusa - The final turn/hill into the brakes on Iron Rattler - The turn into the final brakes on Twisted Colossus (green side) - Last turns on New Texas Giant - There's more

Correct, also all the misinformation people are spewing. Nobody here knows what is going on behind the scenes - and everyone's speculation is nonsense. -
Dollywood Discussion Thread

This thread has been pretty toxic over the past few weeks. I'm as excited as everyone else, but you guys need to relax. I'm sure everyone is trying their hardest to get this open - It's not like Dollywood or RMC are deliberately spiting us enthusiasts. Just be patient, I bet we will see this thing open within a month. -
Anyone ridden all the RMCs yet?

I have now ridden 6, I will update after I get to the new-for-2016 RMC's: 1. Outlaw Run - HOLY BALLS, this coaster is perfect. I've never been on a coaster with better pacing, maybe i305? The coaster feels like it's traveling too fast the entire time, it's SOOO fast! Each element occurs in perfect succession. It's my #1 wood coaster now, even over El Toro! 2. Medusa Steel Coaster - Basically "Steel Outlaw Run" - It's got that same style of pacing! Personally, the first drop is pretty weak, I'd much prefer a straight drop. There is more than enough airtime to make up for that! #3 steel overall. 3. New Texas Giant - Too much airtime? How can I even say that?! This coaster's airtime just doesn't stop, it's fantastic! #2 steel! 4. Iron Rattler - Solid coaster, underrated for sure, the airtime is so strong! It's also the smoothest RMC I've ridden, fantastic ride, #4 steel! 5. Twisted Colossus - Amazing ride, best coaster in CA. So many moments of airtime! The blue sequence under the double down through the zero g is perfection. A little slow overall, especially after riding Outlaw Run. #6 steel! 6. Goliath - Very good coaster when you comTpare it to any other wood coaster! .. But as an RMC it isn't the strongest. It just doesn't do enough. The pacing is a little off - Maybe the elements are all too large? Maybe I'm not a huge fan of inversions? I don't know... -
The last new Coaster in your Count

Tsunami at Six Flags Mexico, #360. Nine credits so far in 2016, hoping to get at least 40 more! It would be incredible to hit 500 in 2017! -

Holy crap, that's amazing. Holy airtime, batman. And in the back of the train will be airtime nirvana. Going down the drop in sustained ejector.... -

Hey everybody - Just got back from Mexico, so I have a new update! Medusa Steel was absolutely the main reason for our visit, but we tried to visit some other places to make it a more substantial trip. We stayed in Mexico City and visited La Feria Chapultepec Magico. Our time at La Feria was cut short due to both Montana Triple Loop and Montana Rusa being closed. We were pretty bummed about this, so we just spent more time at SFM and got a bunch of rides on Medusa! We didn't miss any credits at SFM, so we ended our two-park trip with 9 new credits, yay! Medusa Steel Coaster - This coaster is non-stop pacing. Much like Outlaw Run, it never slows down! I believe this coaster to be one of the few coasters in existence that actually has a perfect flow of elements, no dull section. This easily became my favorite steel RMC and sits just about with Outlaw Run. It's my new #3, closely behind Intimidator 305 and Skyrush. I had high expectations, and they were easily met and exceeded! Superman also somehow made it into my Top 20, it's sooo good! I'd never think I'd like a (non-Phantom) Morgan this much! This element is basically the closest thing to Lightning Rod's "Non-inverted half-loop" - I can't wait to check that one out! Here's a layout overview Here's the lift, Great views of Mexico City! Forget Batman - Where Superman is in this picture is AMAZING in the front, and the next hill is even crazier! Super solid coaster! This is sustained ejector in the front! Ahhhh, we made it! [RMC #6] And this is sustained ejector in the back! There's so much positives, laterals, and airtime! Front of the train is awesome! Speaking of amazing queues, Medusa's was a full-on wacky shack!! I had no idea! I REALLY want SFDK to theme Joker this well - The full-on funhouse was amazing! This coaster highly exceeded my expectations! Even better than a few B&M Hypers Medusa's queue also gave some amazing views of the coaster, easily my favorite queue at a Six Flags park! God, I love this coaster! Despite a few closed coasters, this was completely worth it! Coming up next: Joker at SFDK (whenever that opens) But at least this was open! Yay shuttle loop! I wanted to ride this so bad... It's crazy steep here. ... and this, I guess. Way too spinny - some people love that. Too bad I already had the credit, my first relocation though! A great first drop, very floaty! Kinda like the inverse os Iron Rattler's zero-g. First riders on Medusa! The front row of the train is definitely our favorite! Night rides = Perfection. We got 10 rides total on our visit! And this... It looks so good :'( Oh well, let's go this Six Flags Mexico! (Which happened to be one of my favorite Six Flags parks out there!) -
Lol, this kid. Anyway. Yeah. No way this could be worse than Goliath at SFGAm. Looks fantastic, and as others have said, if Lightning Rod wasn't being built, this would easily be the most anticipated coaster of the year. I personally like Joker's layout more than Storm Chaser, but I can only judge as a whole once I ride both this summer!

I agree with your three choices too! Although I am partial for a hyper (in the style of Apollo's Chariot) that uses the terrain around SDC. An invert would be ideal too, and I would not complain about a DIve. I personally am not a fan of the two Wing Coasters I've ridden, but any new coaster is cool!

^ I seriously doubt any of the B&M flying coasters in the US actually perform at their theoretical capacities. All five of the ones I've ridden load extremely slow and always stack, especially Tatsu. I've even had to sit on Manta's brake run for 15 minutes before, and that's not even at a SF park. For example - The last time I was at SFGAm, Raging Bull had a 90 min line and S-UF had a 180 min line. I seriously doubt Superman is twice as popular as Raging Bull, I think the super slow loading times causing low capacity would account for the majority of the wait time differences.

Just because I am curious. . . What is it about Wildfire that you don't enjoy? Wildfire is by far one of the smoothest B&M coasters out there, not to mention the view to the left of the lift hill is amazing. There is a nice mix of inversions, and the first drop provides nice airtime in the back row. Agreed, I think Wkildfire is the best B&M that isn't an inverted/hyper/dive or Krypton Coaster! I like it more than all other floorless and other Sitdowns like Kumba and Hulk.
