  1. All of the steel supports that Storm Chaser uses were Twisted Twin's supports. It's basically the same thing that the previous 5 RMC conversions did, except that TT is the first converted wooden coaster that originally had steel supports instead of wood.
  2. Assume you are riding all of these in the back row 1. El Toro - Simply blissful, sustained ejector 2. Intimidator 305 - It goes on forever, I love it 3. Iron Rattler - RMC's best drop to date, I love the change of direction 4. Skyrush - HOLY SHIT, most insane drop ever 5. Outlaw Run - The pre drop makes the whole drop terrific in the back 6. Millennium Force 7. Goliath - SFGAm 8. Griffon/SheiKra 9. Twisted Colossus 10. Raging Bull
  3. For my picks, I chose Lightning Rod, Wildfire, and Flying Aces. Considering Outlaw Run is my new favorite wooden coaster, the two new RMC woodies are naturally the two I'm excited for the most! They're both taller, faster, and longer than Outlaw Run, and they both have amazing wooded scenery. I love I305 and Skyrush, and I think Flying Aces is the next step from Intamin in that style of coaster. It looks long, intense, and packed full of airtime, I can't wait to see a POV! (And possibly travel there someday!)
  4. I know there's already another thread for Most Anticipated Coaster for 2016, but I thought it would be neat to see it as a poll. For fun (and because I know not everyone will be able to ride every single coaster here), I think we should vote on which three look the best! It will give the unridden options equal opportunity. I believe I've listed every major coaster.
  5. The Intamin looks strange. The non-inverting loop looks good, as does the funky dive loop and speed hill after it, but the rest of the layout looks void of any airtime. I see some net transitions and some turns, but it doesn't look insane like most other new Intamins (Havoc in Heaven Palace, Flying Aces, Nefeskesen).
  6. Assume you are riding all of these in the back row 1. El Toro 2. Intimidator 305 3. Iron Rattler 4. Skyrush 5. Outlaw Run 6. Millennium Force 7. Goliath - SFGAm 8. Griffon/SheiKra 9. Twisted Colossus 10. Raging Bull
  7. I'm still trying to gather what this whole post is trying to say, but with regards to this section specifically, I think it's funny. Both El Loco at Adventuredome and Batman at SFFT broke down multiple times during the days I was there. Also you talk about how rides are hurting people... I found Batman to have the most uncomfortable coaster restraints and trains I've ever ridden.
  8. The coaster looks pretty small, but definitely fun! It'll be interesting having two similar coasters (100' airtime machines) at the same 5-coaster park. At least this one has inversions to distinguish itself from Lightning Run. I'm looking forward to visiting this park on the trip this summer, I love the 5 RMC's I've ridden so far, this one should be no different!
  9. Here's a picture of the profile of B&M's other 200' hyper, look how much steeper Mako is!! Should be really fun!
  10. TPR posted a picture on twitter of the completed drop! the fan page, Mako Madness also has some great pictures! That drop is really f'in steep! Compared to Goliath at SFOG (with the same height), it is a huge difference!
  11. You're describing exactly what I want, but with having the flat turn I really do think we're getting a new-age, high-intensity spinner... Spinner's kinda make me sick, a gimmick I'm not a huge fan of.
  12. I'm sure they will do it that way.
  13. Not at all. I still think Fire Dragon is the best coaster in Florida.
  14. I don't imagine that I would personally enjoy a VR experience on a coaster. As an enthusiast, I may be particular with how I ride coasters. But I would still love to try it at least once, I imagine the experience to be very unique and strange. As long as I can try the coaster without the headset I have no problems with the system. ^ Cautiously optimistic is a great way to express my feelings about it too!
  15. You and your... thinking... stuff! I think you're right. That phrase "Getting Closer, Interested" doesn't sound right- sounds more like they're deliberately pointing to GCI. You guys are on to something here!! I would be very pleased with a GCI retrack, this year I will be riding bot GhostRider and Legend, I'd prefer if both rides aren't rough.
  16. Is Hulk confirmed to have an identical layout to the original? Or might it be reworked a bit? The first half is gold, but after the 2nd vertical loop, it really becomes bland, IMO.
  17. This is off topic but Tower of Terror and Superman Escape from Krypton have an incredible ability to make people completely forget they exist. It's really unheard of how much nobody cares about or acknowledges them. I didn't forget about them, I just hardly consider them "vertical drops", they're spikes. And up until a few years ago, you couldn't even ride them facing down. Also, I just remembered Karnan is a bit bigger than Valravn, so there's another one.
  18. The drop does truly look fantastic, that is the largest vertical drop on a coaster that isn't TTD or KK. It should be very fun, I LOVE Griffon and SheiKra!
  19. On SFDK's Instagram: "Hold on tight, the new 3D projectors are in but did you know the new attraction will be 5D? #Iwerks #New"
  20. If there is one thing Cedar Fair has been consistently AMAZING at, it's been creating excellent coaster logos!
  21. They have a Mako preview set up in the Sharks exhibit and the video playing there has some really cool music that certainly sounds like it was produced specifically for the video for this attraction. I know nothing about that industry and how stuff like that gets produced (or how much it cost) but I wouldn't be surprised if that audio were used on the ride as well. I thought on-board audio was already announced when they announced the ride. From the press-release: "Sound system: A 48,000-watt, intelligent surround-sound system envelops the realm. Sounds follow the coaster trains as they dive through and around the area … and just over guests’ heads." Sounds to me like there will be speakers on paths around the coaster track that line up music with dispatched trains.
  22. Silver Bullet: The last few times I've ridden the coaster, I've held on to the bottom part of the seat (near my butt) and didn't touch the restraint for the whole duration of the coaster. The restraint remained latched down a few inches above my thighs and chest. There was no point on that coaster where my body touched the restraint, not on the inversions, not on the brake run. The whole coaster experiences only positives, no laterals no hangtime and no negatives, you're only ever pressed into your seat. I firmly believe that it is entirely possible to survive that coaster without any restraint at all (Although it would be extremely terrifying!) I would bet that many inverting B&M's share this ability (Inverts, Floorless, Sitting). The generally feel like they're designed to minimize any non-positive force on your body
  23. Here are some of my pictures that I found on my phone! From 5 states! Xcelerator Raging Bull (and X-Flight) White Lightning Wildfire Timber Terror (Taken with permission)
  24. So the layout is killer! (I'm counting 5 inversions) 1. Super steep twisting drop 2. 540 roll (Like on Starry Sky Ripper) 3. Half loop into flying position 4. Pretzel loop (Tunnel at bottom?) 5. Panoramic curve over lake 6. Large Roll (Like Tatsu's first roll) 7. Helix 8. In line twist (Like Tatsu's last roll, or Starry Sky Ripper's last rolls) Source
  25. I love American Eagle, but I can at least see why people don't like it very much. But on the other hand, I found I305 to be the best coaster I've ever ridden, so I found your complaints hilarious! As for this thread: Least Favorites: Woodstock Express - CGA La Vibora - SFOT One of the impulses? Green Lantern? Skull Mountain? There's so many Intamins FAR FAR worse than I305 by default, even if you do somehow hate it.
