So, I had an account here, years ago, and it crossed my mind today as to whether it still works. Turns out it does, and its 9 years since i've visited. Apologies, and long time no see! Here's me.

System are the masters of the most random bits of music combined with big heavy verses and the most catchy choruses known to man. This isn't normally my sort of thing, bit heavier than most music I listen to, but there's just so much to like about System that i can't help but listen to them. Great band.

Efteling Discussion Thread

As long as its open by 13th July I don't mind! Which is a bit selfish, but never mind. I'm probably looking forward to this more than anything else on my belgium & holland trip actually. Well, apart from Goliath maybe... -
Wahey, ERS on Cobra last saturday with CF, and its bloody excellent! Its so smooth its unbelievable, and its just a great mix between the positive G of the helices, the negative of the airtime hills and the laterals through the wild mouse turns! It was probably more fun overall than Stealth was the day after. Such a superb ride for little Paultons Park. We need more of these little fellas around the world.

Photo TR - Blackpool Pleasure Beach 2/26
robbeal replied to Shockwave's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Aha, tracked your photos down Tom! I knew they'd be somewhere, you were snapping like a madman all day. Good selection you've got there. The queues looked bad but generally moved pretty quickly, so it wasn't too painful. Magic Mountain really is still pretty messed up, even if they got rid of the most racist parts. -
Wow, you got replies over here, when I posted one on CF, it fell on deaf ears! I've been really looking forward to the games for quite a while now, but I stuffed the timing of my operation right up, so that I recovered and had to go back to uni just in time for the start of the games, and the lack of Eurosport at uni means that i've missed pretty much everything I wanted to watch. Fortunately, my mum has been Sky+ing things at home for me, so I can have an olympics-fest when I get home tomorrow.

Well, you've started something, everyone seems to be calling me Robb now, even though i'm a 'single-b'. I guess it doesn't make things easy with my username as it is...

Wow, it looks really nice at Plopsaland actually. I wish i'd thought about visiting there next summer on my Benelux (without the lux) trip. Some nice shots there, shows off the park well.

Whats The Weather Like Where You Live?
robbeal replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
Sunny, clear, and rediculously cold. I didn't put a big coat on before because it looked sunny, and never mind the coat, I wish i'd put my gloves on! ...its not sunny now, as its 11:20pm, but it is still clear... -
Guess How Much Change is in our Coke Bottle!
robbeal replied to SharkTums's topic in Random, Random, Random
I might have a good think about this one, as i've got the exact same Coke bottle, and I know how much I had in there a couple of summers ago! -

Wonderful! Thanks for the help, and a big sowwy to rollermonkey for kinda hijacking your topic for a minute there!

Yeah, i'm flying in that morning to Schiphol, driving down to Drievliet, which shouldn't take long, and then heading across the border to Wavre. I might just have a lazy drive down in the afternoon if we get tired of the park. Another quicky while i'm here, there isn't anything complicated about driving across the border is there? Just need passports handy?

The student day: Had a lazy morning at my girlfriend's, and eventually got up about 10:30 Walked through town from her flat to mine Ate some lunch Sat down in front of my laptop, and I don't appear to have moved since. I did have the intention of doing some work, but that doesn't seem to have happened.

I'll take this slowly, but basically, I took the shortened version of my first name AND my surname, and ingeniously subtracted the space... Yeah, its about as creative, as, errrrrmm, me, I guess...

Nice choice there, can't fault it. I'm on Third Eye Blind - Semi Charmed Life at the moment, its one of the most timeless songs in my collection. I just never tire of hearing it despite its age.

Intamin Accelerators
robbeal replied to HCOSurfer90's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think Intamin changed the ride 'name' to Accelerator after a couple of years of building them, around the time when they started to do more with the layouts, rather than just 'rocket' them skywards. About Storm Runner opening time I think it was. -
What is it that everyone hates about SLC's?
robbeal replied to martinb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
SLCs are okay, they give a decent enough thrilling ride, and they're cheap so it gives plenty of parks out there the opportunity to get something that looks pretty menacing and intimidating. The one problem is that they don't seem to last awfully well without quite a bit of constant tlc. I've ridden some that were perfectly fine other than the bashing through the inlines, and i've ridden others (yes you, FX @ movie park) that were really quite uncomfortable throughout. If only there wasn't all that hunting, I think they'd be held in higher esteem. -
^Cheers, i'm going more for the day than just to ride stuff once, so i'll stick to just there. I'm not keen on doing more than 1 park a day really. I'm driving down to Walibi Belgium after that, so I suppose if I do get bored, I can head off a bit earlier and get that drive done. Got to conquer driving across the border too, oooOooOoOooh...

Christ yeah, i've ridden Kanonen too haven't I! Forgot that somehow Hmmm, not sure I enjoyed that as much as Rita though, so i'd still edge towards her I reckon. -
That looks very nice! Good to see some TLC for Kumba, don't want it deteriorating too much! I have to admit though, it would've been nice to see the matt supports stay, I always liked that style.

Walibi Belgium Discussion Thread

I believe its not due to open until summer. I'm not sure of the exact dates, but you might just get lucky if you're there in June. I'm crossing everything for it being open in July when I go. -
It seems pretty reasonable if you're planning to just get the rides done and move on. The distance between places is fairly minimal out there as they're both pretty small countries. I'm heading out there this summer too for 5 days but taking it a bit slower, but i've already noticed that driving is nowhere near as big an issue as when i did Germany last summer. You should manage that okay. Also, 'captain' mentioned that Drievliet only takes an hour. Is there really that little to do there, or will I be able to drag the park out a bit more and make it last?

Valhalla's fire at the end is pretty cool, and nice and warm after the wetting too! I've not got a great deal to compare it to though, apart from maybe the quick spurt on Holiday Park's log flume! or Heide Park's powered coaster. Nah, doesn't compare... I'd love to ride Tomb Raider though, there's something I find really appealing about that ride.

So far i've just ridden Rita, and probably soon enough Stealth too, so my opinion's kinda decided for me. I'm really looking forward to riding Speed Monster this year though, it looks very sexy, I just hope i'm not overhyping it to myself. Of course, TTD & KK will be quite a thrill when I get them next year too, and i'm looking forward to them for that reason, the sheer thrill and scale of them.
