  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_CzD0GBD-4 Someone just linked me to this. I'm more confused right now than I have been in a long time... but I'm intrigued.
  2. I REALLY want to play a pen and paper RPG, like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Gamma World, or anything like that. But the thing is, I have no friends that are THAT nerdy, I don't have any books for any game, I don't know how to use SRD's, and I don't even have a set of dice of my own.
  3. So I was looking at a few games that are on sale on Steam right now (Medieval II: Total War and Alpha Protocol, to be exact), when a thought came upon me: I've completed a relatively small number of games that I own. I didn't realize how huge my backlist of games is until I sat there and thought it out: Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, LoZ: Twilight Princess, Super Paper Mario, Metroid Prime 2 & 3, Starcraft, Age of Empires III + expansions, Borderlands, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl & Call of Pripyat, Fallout 1 & 2, Civilization IV + all expansions, Frozen Synapse, Jamestown, Shadow of the Colossus, Pokemon Diamond, Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, Serious Sam: The First/Second Encounter HD, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Guild Wars, and Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. Wow. That list is even more daunting the more I look at it. How does your guys' list compare?
  4. I literally dread having to go on Facebook now.. The interface is way too clunky now. I don't care about what Zuckerberg thinks the "top news" is, I want to see all of the most recent posts, and that's it! At least give us some choice, like having multiple, or customizable layouts!
  5. Ugh, the Secretions/Ashtray/Simpl3Jack/Carbonites show I was supposed to go to tonight got cancelled. See, the original venue it was supposed to be at, the Fire Escape bar & grill, stopped having live music this week. So the show moved to a rather infamous venue called Casa de Chaos, which is in a secret location so that the police don't find it and try to shut it down again, since it's in a residential area, and apparently, some bad stuff has gone down there. But someone blurted the address of the venue on the Facebook page for the event, and boom. No more punk show.
  6. So, in my efforts to break out of my shell and try new things, and based on the recommendation of my girlfriend, I got a stick of original Old Spice today. I'm a little weirded out by it.. I think my grandfather uses it. I now smell exactly like him.
  7. I just thought I'd make sure you all know that Minecraft 1.8, also known as "The Adventure Update", is live. I'm a little late to report the news, since it's been out for a few days now, but still. It's good stuff. Too bad they pretty much broke the food system.
  8. So the cast and crew list went up for my school's version of A Midsummer Night's Dream today. I found out earlier today that I'm the head of the props crew, yay! I checked who else is on my crew, and the obnoxious, b****y (sorry, I don't have a word that's more appropriate for her), my-way-or-the-highway girl that always looks pissed off isn't on my crew! YAY! But then I looked lower on the list... She's stage manager. Besides the director, she's EVERYBODY'S boss.
  9. Why, George Lucas.... Why...
  10. I feel like such a tech geek right now. I just finished downloading the pre-release version of Minecraft 1.8 and created a server for it, and am now helping out my friends with Hamachi and getting the update installed. And I'm sitting here with my headset on, listening to a Daft Punk dubstep remix, to boot.
  11. I own one pair of shoes that I regularly wear, and these are what they are: Black Vans Bearcats. And I love them.
  12. Today, I learned that an anagram of my name (Eric Bollinger) is "Bro, Nice Grille!". And also "Boner Lice Girl", but I don't know if that's entirely appropriate for this site, haha...
  13. It's almost 4 AM, and I'm still up doing homework. (BTW, thank you for actually working, 5 Hour Energy!) The thing is, I've gotten absolute s**t done tonight. I did my decently long physics homework, and planned on getting at least half of my history project done tonight... I've done one part of a total of ten, and I still have five to do, most likely tomorrow. Darn you, procrastination!
  14. Octavarium - Dream Theater Holy poop. I need to buy this album, this is the most amazing song I've ever heard, hands down.
  15. I am wearing a hat right now. Which is impressive, considering I have an afro. I mean, it's a beanie, and my hair is sorta wet right now... but still.
  16. I approve of this. Such a brilliant song. From the Stars - Rabbit Junk This song has grown on me a lot recently, mainly since I actually bothered to look up the lyrics. Heck, the whole album has revealed itself to be incredible over the last week. Though "From the Stars" and "The Expedition" are basically about the same thing, they're quite different. And "Revenge of Julian Modely" is just in a league all its own.
  17. I just Skyped with my long-distance girlfriend for almost seven hours. ...while I should have been working on a history project that's due Friday. But still, best night ever.
  18. Animal - Subhumans My sister got this CD in a $1 Grab Bag from Dimple Records, along with Team Goon by D.I., and a movie called "Malibu's Most Wanted", all three of which we have never heard of. It turns out both of the albums are 80's punk bands, which is a HUGE win in my book, and the movie is a crappy comedy that will surely make for a fun movie night of laughing at it... So I guess it was a dollar well spent.
  19. Oh, Tornado Rider. You so crazy.
  20. I went to a "punk" show at Ace of Spades in Sacramento yesterday. The lineup was Machete, The Carbonites, Stalking Distance, Keeping Score, and Witzend, and though the only band I had heard about prior to the show was The Carbonites (since it's my friend's band and the only reason I went, after all), I was excited for a good, fun punk show. Except it wasn't. Machete was kinda sorta punkish, but more hard rock than anything else. They reminded me of Megadeth for some reason. Stalking Distance was a hardcore band. Keeping Score was a full-out, hardcore, screamo band. Witzend was a Christian rock band that didn't try to hide it at all, a la Flyleaf or The Devil Wears Prada. It was a very strange, not very enjoyable show, to be honest. My friend's band didn't fit in AT ALL, and the people there just seemed lame.
  21. The noises that the Tusken Raiders from Star Wars make are just recordings of donkeys... I literally JUST realized that less than a minute ago.
  22. Don't worry, unless you have a problem with bugs, you shouldn't have any problems. Unless you play the Episodes, which are a heck of a lot more terrifying. Oh, and whatever you do, stay out of Ravenholm!
  23. I really need to find this album sometime. It's incredible.
  24. Well, my girlfriend started the long car trip from Santa Clarita (like ten minutes from SFMM) to Hillsdale, Michigan for college today. While we've been in a REALLY successful long-distance relationship for the last year (officially only like two months... sssshhh!), it's gonna be weird adjusting to a three hour time difference.. And I'm a bit worried for her, since she'll basically need to take care of herself in a totally new environment.
  25. My dad said this today. No matter how horrible and tasteless it is, I still lol'd. "You know, having a talking parrot is sorta like having a kid with Tourette's in the house all the time."
