The "Say Something Random" Thread

Seventeen years old. The only real difference I can think of is that now I can buy M-rated games on my own, and get into R-rated movies. Not that I'd do the latter often at all, since I never go to the movies, but the game thing is huge for me. -
Finally, it's out! And it was worth the long wait, in my opinion. Much better first impression than their other singles.

The hardest part was definitely when I first got home from school each day. I have to stay until about 6:00 PM since I'm helping build the set for my school's production of Thoroughly Modern Millie, and I was lucky to sneak a bit of ice at lunch some of the days, and get something to drink in the eleven hours I'm at school. When I finally got home each night, everyone would be in the living room/kitchen (there are no walls separating them in my house), so I couldn't drink anything for at least an hour, when I caught my chance. And nobody got on-campus suspension, I honestly don't even know if he was serious about it. I hope not, because that's a pretty cool element. The marker was to remind us of the experiment in case we forgot about it somehow, I believe. The hard part about that was that we couldn't let anybody see it, as they would inevitably ask what it was about. And he redrew the mark every day in class, haha. It was a very cool (hehe, get it? Ice?) experiment, and you're right, it was a great way to learn more about addictions firsthand. -

Whew, my teacher let us end the "addiction" during class today, as opposed to midnight tonight. It was TOUGH, but I did it all the way through. -

Today, I got assigned one of the strangest, and quite possibly one of the most difficult projects I've ever encountered. It's for my Psychology class, we have to have a mock addiction to ice, both cubed and crushed. We can't ingest any fluids that do not have ice in them: milk with cereal, coffee, smoothies, water.. If there is no ice in them, they can't come anywhere near our lips. As well, ice is an illegal substance, so we can't let anybody see that we use it. And I don't know if my teacher was bluffing about this part or not, but apparently, he gave the school supervisors a list of our names, so that if they see us with ice of any sort, we get an on-campus suspension. And to add just one more aspect to it all, he gave us all a mark on our wrists with permanent marker, that we have to hide. As difficult as I know it will be, I'm gonna try to go all out with this. It started after school today, at 3:04, and lasts until Thursday at midnight. Let's do this! -

^ I recommend you head to the tavern in Whiterun and talk to Sam in a few levels, once you get the chance. You can thank me later.

There's a game on Steam that's on sale for $-21.00. That's 160% off its regular price! Too bad it's RailWorks 2012. I don't think you could pay me enough money to play that game. -
Ugh, I fell asleep before I finished my homework. At least I woke up now, so I won't be in a mad rush in the morning to sloppily get it done, but it's still gonna suck to read and analyze Zora Neale Hurston's writing at two in the morning.

Aside from the couple of songs they've had in Guitar Hero/Rock Band games I've played, I'm afraid not. I do like the little I've heard, though. And I ADORE Gunman and Mind Eraser, No Chaser.

^ Oh, jeez, don't even get me started.. That football scene. That drug dealer scene. That flower shop scene. That trademark "Oh, hi ______!" greeting. Those three gratuitous sex scenes within the first half hour of the film, that actually repeat shots (Thank God I watched a censored version on [Adult Swim], the entire screen was a black bar for like 30 seconds at a time... I'm scared to know what was behind it). That EVERYTHING... Brilliant movie.

Scumbag Blues - Them Crooked Vultures I finally picked up their album while I was on a school trip to Ashland last week. I am not disappointed!

Spike in a Rail - Darren Korb (Bastion Original Soundtrack) Not only is the game absolutely phenomenal, the soundtrack is great to work by. Especially when it's 2:00 am and you're still working on an essay.

Just when I thought I was out of its grasp, Skyrim pulled me back in, worse than ever. I rolled (can I even call it rolling? It's not like I'm rolling stats, it's just making a character straight from the template.. ah well, it'll do) a Khajiit, with the purpose of focusing solely on sneak, archery, and thievery. At level 19, all I have to say is DAMN, this is fun! I'm nearing completion of the Thieves' Guild questline (I think so, at least... I just got sent on a mission to track down the traitor), I've barely started the Dark Brotherhood quest, having only done the introductory one, I just have to sleep in a bed to continue further. I think I'll do the main quest and Bard's College quests with this character before starting a new one.. Maybe a pure mage Altmer? Redguard barbarian, specializing on 2-handed weaponry? Who knows.

I got A's and B's on all my finals for the third quarter, including an 8- on my AP English 11 essay! That 8- is the highest grade I've gotten on any piece of writing in this class, and was the highest grade among my classmates for this essay. For those not familiar with the AP scale, a 9 is the highest score one can achieve; an 8 or 9 is absolutely COVETED. So yeah, I feel pretty good.

I'm drinking my first cup of real coffee with just milk in it. And you know what? I like it. -

Congrats! I used to be able to do that, back when I was a lot more devoted to my unicycle. As it stands, I haven't touched it in years.. I should really pick it up again, it's a lot of fun. -
I think I'm in love.

I just want to say that Steam's new free-to-play game, Realm of the Mad God, is GLORIOUS. It's an 8-bit, massively-multiplayer cooperative bullet-hell-esque medieval arcade shooter with roguelike elements. Basically, you and up to 83 other players team up on a M-A-S-S-I-V-E map to kill monsters, level up, and eventually take down the God of each area (which is much easier said than done, of course). If you die, that's the end of that character: You have to start with a new toon with all of your precious loot down the drain. But this just makes you play more defensively, and really, it shouldn't take long at all to get to the maximum level of 20 when playing smart. It's a challenging, original game that has moments of pure insanity (creating an unstoppable train of 40 people, plowing down everything in our tracks? Yes please!), and is totally worth your time. And it's free, so check it out.

In less than an hour, I'm going to be cutting off my fro. I am EXCITED. I'm sick of my hair, no matter how much other people love it. It's frizzy, inflates WAY too much during the day, it's a pain to wash, it blows all over the place in the wind, and it doesn't let me wear hats/helmets/headphones comfortably... yeah, I'm done with it. Bring on short hair! -

I hate not being able to find college ruled, 8.5x11" binder paper. Anything else is just unacceptable. -
My girlfriend and I broke up after a year-and-a-half long, long-distance relationship this last week. I guess the age difference between us was just too much.
-
Welp.. Ashley and I broke up a few days ago. The age/experience difference was just too much for us. But we're both acknowledging that splitting up is the best option for both of us right now. The breakup went really smoothly, and we vowed to stay really good friends. And if later on we decide that it's the right thing to do, we're open to the idea of getting back together. It's unlikely, but we're considering it.
