  1. The Disney World, Epcot and Michael Jackson ones are all hilarious. Whoever originally came up with this concept is a genius!!!
  2. Here is a link to a video of him in action since the YouTube version has been removed. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2009/07/22/adrenaline-junkie-dirk-auer-roller-skates-a-half-mile-roller-coaster-at-over-60mph-video-115875-21538221/
  3. This looks fantastic. I can see renewing my annual pass just for this. Oh my wallet hurts!
  4. Not to hate, but Grizzly = The most pointless wooden coaster ever. At least it's station has a roof though!
  5. Thanks for reminding me of how much I miss Thailand!!! Chiang Mai was my favorite place in that wonderful country. As I saw your picture of the "hairy fruit" I tried to remember it's name, but it seems to have left my mind. Anyway, I can't wait for the rest of your photos! Thanks for sharing.
  6. Another great trip report. I'm glad your trip went so well, even though you faced a bit of bad weather throughout. Thanks for sharing!
  7. Thanks for the reports. Sun Park is really beautiful when you get outside of the ride area. I can't wait to see your pictures from Happy Valley Chebgdu.
  8. ^The event was on Sunday, not yesterday.
  9. Wes, I was talking more about the smaller building that sits along the tracks in the overhead, but looks more like a wooden platform in the art. I think the Adventurer's Club is sitting in the back to the right of the Mystic Manor. In the art it is hard to tell what it is. I would be surprised if they didn't add a train station here because it would be quite a long walk from either of the two they have now. But you could be right. At this point there aren't enough details to know for sure. Look at the wooden platform along the train tracks.
  10. ^^Toy Story Land connects to Fantasyland and Grizzly Trail connects to Adventureland between the Jungle Cruise river and Lion King theater. I also think from the art work that there will be a third train station added in Mystic Point. You can see a building along the railroad tracks and it would make perfect sense since it is in the middle of the three new lands. (Of course that is just speculation, but the building is there in both the overhead art and the Mystic Point art.)
  11. ^Just think of it as more of a ToonTown. Any way they go, it has to look better than Toon Town Faire at the Magic Kingdom.
  12. It appears Google Maps has half of an updated satellite view that could give people more of an idea of where these new lands will be. Up until recently the only satellite view was from during construction. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=hong+kong&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=49.310476,114.169922&ie=UTF8&ll=22.312503,114.041959&spn=0.007087,0.013937&t=h&z=17 The one thing I noticed is how large the area for a future 2nd park is compared to the original. They certainly have plenty of room to build a second gate whenever they decide to, not to mention a lot of land left behind Fantasyland and Adventureland for expansion. Satellite with an overlay from the art.
  13. ^^That might be a bit expensive. Although this year at WCB because of poor weather in the morning, the park was really empty and it felt like we almost had it to ourselves!
  14. I am shy and often don't introduce myself to people either, but I couldn't avoid the Bebes at Termination Day. From the morning parking lot tram to walking out of the park at the end of the night, they were there at every turn. It was great meeting you guys and I want to thank Mr. Bebe for sharing the last ride of the night on Terminator with me. So while the other Shawn didn't introduce himself, this one is glad he got to meet you guys. I hope to run into you again soon! By the way, I also think the Big Mike Western Headquarters idea is a great one!
  15. ^^I think the completion is 5 years down the line, but construction should start almost immediately. They have already cleared the land back there and built a rail bridge to get back into the area. While the whole thing won't be completed until 2015, the first land will probably be done within one to two years. I wanted to know if someone can clarify one things for me. I saw it mentioned somewhere that these updates will include 30 new rides and attractions. Obviously the announcements don't elude to this many. Do you think that they meant this will bring the total of all R&As to 30? Edit: I went to their site and looked and they actually list the total attractions now at 30, so maybe they were saying these would add to the 30 attractions they already have. Who knows.
  16. ^^My guess is that this is in response to the more traditional Disneyland park supposedly being built in Shanghai. With these new lands and unique attractions, they are probably hoping to make HKDL unique to any other Magic Kingdom style park. They have plenty of room for expansion behind Fantasyland and Adventureland and I am sure that will be held aside for the future. I'm guessing that adding to an existing land won't get them as much press as adding three new lands. Also, since all of the lands are already mini lands, adding more fits right in. To be honest, I am surprised at the amount of crap that this park gets. While it is small, I was blown away with how nice it is. While they did cut back on lands and attractions to save money, the areas they did build were up to Disney quality. Now with more heavily themed areas going in, we will have a top notch park when it is built out. They won't have to go back and fix anything like in other parks.
  17. I'm all joined up on Facebook. I even uploaded a few pictures from my time on the show.
  18. ^^I was thinking the same things about the Toy Story Land until I thought about Toon Town and I guess it would fit in a similar way. I am glad this park is getting some new areas, but I agree it is weird how they were all added behind Adventureland. Lets hope that when this is completed they don't forget about the existing lands, which also need to grow in size. Adventureland seems to have some empty space left for growth and that is something I think is still needed. Since I love this park I am glad to see them adding some unique attractions. This is definitely a step in the right direction. I can't wait to go back and see the park in a couple of years! A Haunted Mansion type ride with the trackless Pooh ride system makes me smile. Hopefully they spend the money and pull it off. Edit: I just noticed the railroad tracks running through Mystic Point (in the art) with a mysterious building next to them. Since these areas basically lie just beyond the tracks, hopefully we will see the addition of a third train station as well!
  19. ^Not to pile on, but his avatar makes me think he is going to eat me! Stop looking down at me. I don't taste good. There is nothing to eat here. Just kidding, but the angle of that picture does get me. In regards to posting for posting's sake, this is a perfect example of a post with great substance. There is no way it can be seen as me posting just to post.
  20. Wasn't he the same ride op from Ninja at WCB? Hiya. Hiyaaa! As has been said before, the event was awesome and we had a great time. Robb and Elissa put on another great event and the ERT was great despite Kobe trying to ruin it. Elissa it was also nice actually getting a couple of minutes to talk to you. You guys would have made awesome neighbors. Thanks again for everything.
  21. I agree. It seems to be running a little zippier than when we rode it last month. Thanks for putting on another great event BTW.
  22. I think I heard the Screamin' station retheme was postponed indefinitely but I could be wrong.
  23. We will be there! Shawn Reece (my son) is excited for his first enthusiast event!
