Ccron10 replied to johnycanon8's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Wow! Nice Buildings! Can't wait to see the rest of the park! I wonder what the rides will be? -
Sidewinder ain't that bad, but the only problem is the lack of arm space with the restraints. Besides, you can hear the famous,"verrrr----kerchink" sound! lol

There's been a new update on construction on Screamscape today. http://www.screamscape.com/html/hersheypark.htm Looks like there's more space in that area than I thought there would be. -

UPDATE #35 Tidal Force I've finally added TF and the boardwalk walkway. A tad bit of work still needs to be done to the entrance area of the Boardwalk still and it's attractions built so far. As for the release datefor the park, I'm kind of shooting for Christmas and if not, maybe Thanksgiving, because I still need to add some parking lot content after the park is finished and create some extra features to go along with the game (ex: info sheet, credits, etc.) The splash lake and station. The layout -
Hersheypark Announces Fahrenheit!

Great pics. It's about time we've got some news on what's going on! It looks like Tidal Force Catering Area will be removed in the process which is good because there's like 3 or 4 of those places over there. -
They did that for the front rows for SR when I went. I guess it has to do with how many people in line for the front row; they maybe trying to even out the lines. Yes, Thunder does win.... sometimes. One time I rode the Lightning side and won and then rode Thunder and that side won so..... I must be fat. lol It has to be with keeping track of how many people ride that certain ride on that day. Those turnstiles do that. Great TR so far.

What would rides be like on the moon?
Ccron10 replied to Thrillrider15's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
CF would be right at home since THERE ARE NO TREES ON THE MOON!!!! lol Whenever I think of this thread, I think of that Futurama episode with that amusement park in that space dome. -

I kinda had to laugh when I found this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fahrenheit_%28roller_coaster%29 But also coming next year is another parking lot expansion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hersheypark#Fahrenheit_-_new_for_2008 How big can the parking lot get? That thing has to be over a mile long! lol -
^^I used the extended coaster type track since it's the only coaster on the list that is able to do it's inversions. ^Well, not 10 mins, but it has all the inversions from the coaster. I didn't add scenery to it because; 1. I wanted it to be possible to add your own scenery to the coaster; 2. We don't know what the scenery is. I also had to modify it so it can take the inversons smoothly. Look. It's a good coaster and since when does 10 mins matter?

Want to put HP's new coaster in your park? Here's a 99.9% accurate recreation of Fehrenheit for RCT3! The ride cars and track type night not be correct, but the layout and color scheme is. It took me around 10 mins. to build and was very easy. Comments please! [Extended]Hersheypark's Fehrenheit.zip .trk file for RCT3. Just copy and paste the file into the Coasters folder. Fehrenheit

Hersheypark Announces Fahrenheit!
Ccron10 replied to Meteornotes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah that was a good interview. The reason why everyone is thinking that SR and F are alike is because it's the same track type and same builder. But when you think about it, its the same exact thing of WC and LR; they are both GCI's and both wooden coaster and built almost the same exact timespan between as SR and F. -
Could a Track Jumping Coaster Be Possible?
Ccron10 replied to Ccron10's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was just looking at Griffin and in it's transfer track the car detatch from the track and are supported on those rubber wheels (forgot the real name of them just now). What if the cars did this on a hill at a low speed? It would give the illusion of jumping the track. Then a positioning system could re-align the wheels so it goes correctly back on the track. example from rcdb.com -
I've just got finished with a book called Jumper and I thought I was a very interesting book. It also got me thinking that maybe with today's technology, I might be possible. I did a little research and found that there was a coaster that did this called "Leap-the-Gap". The car was to jump over a gap and land on the other side and continue on it's way. While the ride was being experimented on, the designers found that the weight varied because of the passengers. In the book that I read, the trains were aerodynamic and were each equipped with 2 flare-shaped metal objects on each car to catch the ends of the open pipe rails at the end of the jump. An extended floor and 2 angled walls to channel the car into the right position. The cars also said that they'd have a laser positioning system, gyroscopic stabilizers and aerodynamic fins to keep it aligned while flying through the air. Most importantly, it had a weighing system that adjusted to the weight of the passengers in the car and added weight if needed. The sections of track before the jump spun to keep the track dry in that area. I think it's possible, but it's a lot of weight. Your guys' thoughts?

Knoebels Discussion Thread
Ccron10 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I feel that this is going to be a very unique ride when it opens. Between the historic value, the wall with all the people who signed it, the design, layout and cars, the time is well worth it. I guess it is a good thing that I'll be heading to the park next year! lol -

Ccron10 replied to splzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Yeah, I usually hear radio announcements about this. The firehouse, I guess, also creates a haunted house off-site. In a book that I have about the park, I heard that they also open the shops during Xmas time (no rides are open then). -
Hersheypark in the Dark

Update #34 Today was a day when I worked on the station and added some scenery to the ride. Rocks, Trees and stones cover most of the course execpt for the waterfall section. I'm not finished adding scenery to the ride, but I do have around 1/2 of the ride done. Tomorrow I hope to finish up CRR and start working on the Boardwalk and getting ready to add Tidal Force and adding it's catering area. Comments please! I've added some more white water throughout the ride to make it even wetter! The first switchback. The guysers would be here. Those poles are for lights, but they need to be Custom Scenery of the real ones. They'll be added later. The Station. No it doesn't rotate. -

UPDATE #33 DID YOU KNOW?..... - that the Playdome Arcade was a ride called the Frontier Meeting House, a ride similar to the Dutch Wonder House at Dutch Wonderland? It was removed in 1992 and sold to a park over seas. -that Midway America was almost built in Comet Hollow? The Comet would've been the centerpiece of the area, but because of the area being prone to flooding, the decided to build the new coaster and area near Tidal Force. If it would've happened, Great Bear might've not been built and the area would've looked extremely different. I have finally got CRR built and added one half of the canyon so far. It includes waterfalls and fake cliffs. This is the first ride of the Boardwalk! Foundations for the new photo booth and T-Shirt stand have been placed. Stay tuned for more! The entrance to the Boardwalk. Trees and rocks will be added soon. The canyon portion. Not "Dan Friendly". -

I wonder if PETA might get involved somehow. lol. I doesn't really seem that scary, but if someone was afraid of worms, then they'd be scared out of their minds.
