  1. Wow. I'm not going to go into my private life, but I have had a lot of stuff going on these last few weeks in school and out of school. And I did decide to scale the project back. I don't plan on creating a big grand layout though like the others I carelessly made. Once I perform the tests, then I'll decide on the layout and I can tell you this now, it's not going to be anywhere near as big as the old ones. Maybe just a simple oval layout with a inversion and a hill or two. That's it. And if I do remember correctly that Jack Rimer awhile quoted that I should keep the layout simple. That's what I'll do.
  2. ^ I didn't say anything about it being open on Saturday (fat chance). I'm just saying that everybody will get great pictures of it.
  3. ^ It's official. Looks like the last piece is in which is great for Saturday. Next they need to test it, landscape it, and finish the station. It looks like a soft opening could be possible.
  4. I'd be willing to take a bet that the track will be done by either tomorrow or Wednesday. By the way. Does anyone know if they still have the "100 Years of Happy" lettering on the Kissing Tower?
  5. Thanks for the pics. Also, the location for FH has been changed. http://www.hersheypark.com/rides/results.php?rh=99&pa=99&rt=1 Pioneer Frontier has just scored it's 4th coaster. Now this doesn't really fit the theme for the area, it fits better in the Boardwalk, but I kinda think if they renovate CRR (or remove it) in a season or two, they can move the Boardwalk area down to FH's entrance.
  6. Not really. I've been busy with school. But I hope to get an update sooner or later.
  7. This park is the one that has inspired me to create great RCT parks. I always had it saved somewhere.
  8. http://coastertalk.net/index.php A new update is posted. The supports for the cobra roll are up and the last of the track is in the parking lot. Looks like they still need to build the norweigon loop. There's a possible chance that I might be going to STITP, so by then, work on the track might be done.
  9. ^Yeah. The old cars are about the same as the current ones execpt these don't have lapbars. By the way. Shane, do you have any old Hersheypark pictures? I am currently helping a friend of mine set up a fansite for the park.
  10. lol. Gotta love that they kept the christmas trees. Where'd HyperSonic get moved to anyway?
  11. That was so human-like that it's not even funny. I could actually see a person being made like that. The only thing is that it's motor is so loud.
  12. I kinda think that the coaster industry is starting to go into a new phase with on-board sound systems and letting guests choose their own music. Wouldn't suprise me if a lot more coasters in the future use this more often. This could make WDW renovate Space Mountain into Rockin' Space Mountain. I really hope.
  13. What?????? SF is now trying TOO hard. First of all... What the heck are they going to cheer about?!? What's the purpose of this? Also, why call them thrilleaders? They could've just called them the Official SF cheerleaders. They probably would get a lot more business back if they brought back Mr. Six.
  14. I want to say the other end of the skyway was the building which housed the entrance to Shockwave, which is now the entrance to Superman:UF. I hate skyrides, so I don't recall exactly. There were still footers from The Edge and Powerdive a couple of years ago, I'm not sure if they're still there when King Chaos went in. And of course, there's Iron Wolf's station and queue. It was Z-Force's station and queue before that. They didn't change a thing when Iron Wolf went in. Right down to the way the track goes over the queue before the stairs up to the station. Phew. I've dated myself. I think I remeber seeing in a pic that one of the old Southern Cross or Delta Flyer Skyride towers was being used an an emergency lighting tower. Who knows if it's still there?
  15. ^ You are absolutly correct. The other ride you're looking for is Dry Gulch Railroad. HP has never removed a ride that didn't need to be removed. WCO had to got since it was outdated. Not once since the 1940's has a coaster was removed from the park (execpt for the Little Comet). And to prove the point that FH is like the other coasters in the park, here's a pic to point it out. http://www.coasterdom.com/gallery/image.php?d=%2FHersheypark%2FFahrenheit%2FConstruction%2F03-12&p=03-05-54 That's really close to TF catering.
  16. Prologue: I plan on working on 3 projects this summer; this park being one of them. The idea of this project first started as an idea to create a Merriot's Great America-kind-of-park. As time went by, the park became to spread out and I decided to start over, but rebuild the style of the rides in the new park. I also scrapped the idea of the park style and made the new one owned by Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Co. The reason why is to ask myself, "What would the company do if they had the chance to build Hersheypark all over again?" The result is Hershey's Grand Adventure. HERCO bought the former entertainment park called Maple Grove Entertainment Park from a family who also owned nearby Maple Grove Raceway in 2007. The park had 2 race tracks; one was an oval track with go-karts; the second was a 4-wheeler dirt track with several jumps. There was also a Ripcord-style ride called Sky Screamer which stands 300 feet tall, Thrillshot which launches riders vertically into the sky, and a Vekoma kiddie coaster called Little Dipper. In 2007 after HERCO bought the park, they added an Arrow log flume called Old Mill River Falls. The station is supposed to resemble an abandoned mill and it features 1 long tunnel with suprises, a 40 foot tall drop, and a 70 foot tall drop making the ride one of the tallest of it's kind. The park is planning an official Grand Opening under new ownership in 2008. A new main entrance and amptheatre are planned to open. -See the Newest Post for pics!- Park logo.
  17. So if the power fails, the second lift will have a generator or something as back-up?
  18. ^ and ^^ Not really. if it was a chain, it would need to have chain dogs. Usually the chain dogs are part of the track when they are molded. But since I don't see any, it has to be a cable lift hill. Also, how would the cars evacuate if there's an E-stop? That spiral staircase is too far under the tower to reach the trains. With a cable lift, if the power shuts off automatically, the trains could be lowered manually.
  19. After looking at the lift and not seeing any chain dogs, it seems like the coaster will have a cable lift.
  20. ^^Here's the link to it. http://www.coasterdom.com/2008/03/06/fahrenheit-update-up-close-and-personal/ And to knowit, I won. http://www.coasterdom.com/gallery/image.php?d=/Hersheypark/Fahrenheit/Construction/03-06&p=03-06-06 I see an on-ride photo booth.
  21. ^Hey, RXCC is a great ride. It's a lot of fun trying to get the most points in your car (I always do). When you get a block brake stop it's even better! Going Back on topic, you're right, HP must certainly pay attention to what they add each year or it isn't good.
  22. It's rare finding pics of the Frontier Lift. Good Find! It's had to beleve that the park looked so empty.
  23. ^Nope. It's an elevator shaft. You can barely see it on the edge of the webcam. Besides, why would a hydraulics room need to be that tall and it's nowhere near the lift.
  24. I think the reason why the park is getting FH is because Knoebels and Dorney are getting coasters. It's always good to try to be one step ahead of the competition. Parks mostly put out that info to pacify people and us coaster fans. That's kinda why I don't really go by those details.
  25. I kinda like it, but since they've used the pinwheel since back in 1970 I've gotten used to seeing the logo and knowing it's HP's. I think the new one is here to stay since I got the Hershey High Meadows brochure and it has the logo in it with "the official resort of HP". IDK why, but I'm starting to get the feeling that HP is trying to be the Disneyland of the Northeast. Maybe it's because I'm a "local". lol But think about it, Xtreme Cup Challenge in 2006, the Boardwalk in 2007, all the recent area upgrades (examples:) -2003 Upper Pioneer Frontier and Upper Music Box Way with the Theatre. -2004 Middle Pioneer Frontier with the food court being remodeled and SR being added. -2005 Carrousel/ Founder's Circle -2006 Music Box Way (kinda) -2007 The Boardwalk and now... -2008 Fahrenheit in Midway America. Given the station's location, MA maybe expanding up the midway. I wonder why Rodeo wasn't included since it's on the same midway?
