Strange of you to highlight one specific day, when every day is like that.
-
My exact thoughts, exactly!
-
Yes, like everyone on the TPR boards!
-
Yeah, I know what you mean!

The thing is, with really big coasters (200+ feet) the top speed is much more likely to waiver because the train spends longer dropping, meaning that it is more susceptible to being slowed down or sped up by things like wind speed, running wheel condition, and track temperature. Smaller coasters, coasters with more moderate forces, or those protected from the wind (like Nemesis, which since it opened is yet to be trimmed!) don't generally need trims if they are designed well. Unlike Th13teen, of course. Have you ever noticed that smaller rides generally give a similar ride each time, but bigger ones can vary quite alot?

Rita at Alton Towers felt like an elephant sitting on me! Me and my stomach haven't stayed in touch. -
I bet there is a word filter that reveals Robb's phone number... I might start posting more often!

Best coaster ride when raining
Sasquatch replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I rode a Vekoma Corkscrew (pile of crap) just after a hailstorm, and it was suddenly damn enjoyable! It really gave me the *oh jesus im going splat into the floor in a minute* feeling, it was brilliant! Well... for a Vekoma Corkscrew anyway... -
Nothing really, just a little stereotype mocking. I mean no harm. However, highschool musical is BEYOND gay.
-
That's where you are wrong, on the internet NO-ONE is straight Does that mean I have to post some gay a$$ picture of myself to prove I'm really gay? Yep, it needs to be crammed full of beach sandals, highschool musical, and protein shakes.

That could well be acceleration forces felt during the launch. -
I absteined, they are all liars really.

I'm sure Chuck is all over that! Expect a full photo trip report with all the trimmings!

I have a feeling they might have, but just be safe they probably got everyone down because there is every chance the wheel axle could have been damaged... Although, saying that there is a block brake straight after that section. -

Does Vekoma still make the old models?
Sasquatch replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ I have heard that the older models run very well when maintained properly! Theres a corkscrew model in Mexico that apparently is actually fun to ride! -

Personally I think a total re-design of their older models is in order to keep up with other companies competing in the rollercoaster market! -

Nolimits LIM Bowl Contest
Sasquatch replied to themeparkologist's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
It isn't, there are plenty of coasters in the US that go well beyond that! Take Zonga for instance, that used to go 6.5Gs, and even after being reprofiled pulled 5.5Gs! All the batman clones pull 4.5Gs tops, TTD and KK pull 4, and the Premier LIM coasters each pull 4.5! Etc. -

Hmm... I'll have a play around with some ideas, but I won't say that I definitely will submit something yet. Very refreshing to see a NL contest that doesn't have "BM" or "Intamin" in it! Can the station building go outside the template as long as the track stays within the boundary? And don't you think 3.6Gs is a little steep for a multi-inversion coaster, that would normally pull 4-5Gs? -

Around 5Gs for a single spike is ok as long as it isn't too sudden, and sustained Gs (Like in helices) shouldn't really exceed 3.5Gs.
