  1. All I was saying is that I think a lot of people on here jump to conclusions. The minute they see it is a B&M they automatically dump on it before ever even riding it. If they see it is an Intamin then they automatically think it is amazing. I saw this happen with Levithan and Skyrush. Yes, B&M's may not have been the most innovative in the past few years, although I think the wingrider layouts have been miles different from anything that Intamin tried to do with it. B&M at least perfected them and made them smooth and who did the inversion off the lift before? I agree that Intamin rides are exciting (for the most part) but I don't think they are the be all, end all of coasters. I also think that the argument that B&M's aren't forceful anymore is a moot point because not everyone likes forceful coasters. I myself prefer airtime and there are a hell of a lot of B&M's that give awesome airtime as are Intamins. If you saw my top ten they are a mix of Intamin's and B&M's. I just wish people would give it a chance before making up their mind if it will suck or not. I was just at CP for the first time in June and I absolutely loved TTD, Maverick and Wicked Twister, but I also loved Mantis. I did not like Raptor and I thought MF straight out sucked. After riding MF, I never understood why people think it is such an amazing ride other than it was made by Intamin. Yes, I rode it at least 5 times and I rode it in the very front seat and the very back and a few in between. It was super boring, there was no airtime and the layout was lame. Ok, so it was the first coaster over 300 feet and it goes fast. Who cares? It is still forceless and boring as F**K. This is why I think that people just put everything into a name. They can tell you that B&M is forceless and has a boring layout but their number one coaster is Millennium Force. And for a company that makes the best coasters, they sure do break down a hell of a lot and have to be trimmed to death and changed 10 times before they are rideable (I305.) Just some observations but don't get me wrong, I loved El Toro, I305 and Storm Runner. I just happen to think that everything they make is not heavenly, just the same as any other company.
  2. FACT: 98% of people on this site will say that this ride is lame just because it was made by B&M. While I like both B&M and Intamin, I can bet that if this ride was made by Intamin and was a "wing rider" then it would be proclaimed as the next coming of Christ. SMH
  3. ^Agreed. That is exactly what I was thinking as well. It will hit the rolls at a much slower pace so it should be fine.
  4. I agree with you on Kennywood. We went there on our trip as well and I really loved it. Small parks hold a place in my heart. Your reviews of the coasters were very similar to mine. Wasn't crazy about Racer. LOVED PR. It is a top 10 coaster for me. Thunderbolt was ok. Sky Rocket was a hell of a surprise and had crazy airtime. The shin pads do indeed suck! I loved Jack Rabbit too. That double down of insane death was awesome and scary all at the same time. Exterminator was the best themed mouse ever. Kennywood is definitely a great little park worth visiting.
  5. It is so amazing to me how people have such different opinions on rides/parks. I recently went to CP as well and I loved Maverick, TTD and WT but I thought that Millennium Force was once of the most boring pieces of crap I have ever ridden and I have only ridden a little over 200 coasters. Intimidator 305 was a much better coaster and more thrilling. I rode MF 5 times over the course of two days in different seats and it was just really boring to me. I didn't think it had hardly any airtime at all. I also did not like CP as a park. I like my parks with more theming, plants, SHADE and great rides than just ride after ride plopped down on concrete. Glad to know we are not all the same. Rob "I guess I just don't get the fascination with MF" McFarland
  6. It has to do with the train you ride. I think train two is the really rattley one. I don't know why this hasn't been repaired yet because it was getting really bad at the end of last season. Ridden it several times this season and it is much worse. Goliath has been my number one coaster until this season for that reason.
  7. ZOMG! This thing is looking insane! This may give NTAG a run for it's money.
  8. I remember it being brown/tan. I also did not ride it back then but once I rode it one time, I was in love! <3
  9. So far.... SFOG (at least 12 times) Dollywood (2x) Cedar Point Waldameer Conneaut Lake Kennywood Will hit later in the year: SFMM Knott's Berry Farm Disneyland CA Adventure Maybe: Carowinds Wild Adventures
  10. Me and my coaster buds were at Waldameer and Conneaut Lake the Saturday before you (the 9th) and I will say that I loved Waldameer. I have a soft place in my heart for small parks and I thought Waldameer was exceptional. Steve Gorman (the president/owner) came out and talked to our group since we were on a coaster trip. He was very friendly and was willing to tell us about the history of the park and answer any questions. That added to the liking of the park. A very personal touch. I also loved Ravine Flyer II even though it was a little rough. It is now my #4 woodie. What awesome airtime! We also stopped by Conneaut Lake that afternoon on the way to Kennywood. I was shocked by the state of this park. We only stayed at the park for about 45 minutes. We rode Blue Streak once (because it was scary-like we are going to die because it is falling apart, scary.) We wanted to ride the kiddie coaster but the girl at the ticket booth said we had to have a kid and since there was no one there besides us, then that was not an option. Remember, this was a Saturday. We actually only saw about 3 other people in the park and two of them were a couple that were riding the tumble bug. The other was a guy that was taking pics of the tumble bug because they are so rare. That was it. It was so dead. I do not see how this park can stay in operation. I hope that it does but I really don't see it happening. I could see it having some charm with some love but I guess we will just have to see what happens.
  11. Well my cousin is not the person currently in the role of Evita but I think that she is up for it soon. The current Evita *must* have been having a bad night. I also find it funny to mention that I have never even seen Evita (or most musicals for that matter) and I am gay. Can't stand musicals. LOL
  12. My cousin is in Evita on broadway so I am sad to hear that you didn't enjoy it, but I think she may have a starring role playing Evita soon and it will be better I am sure!!!
  13. El Toro doesn't staple? Then we must have ridden 2 different coasters. They stapled me EVERY time I rode it and it caused the ride to be really painful to me. Maybe it is because I am a little bigger but I highly doubt it. Even most of my skinny friends thought that it was painful because of the restraints. Don't get me wrong, I love El Toro and it is my favorite woodie but there is no doubt that it is painful. I had red marks on my thighs and stomach from the restraints. I have experienced really pain inducing stapling on I305, Fahrenheit and Storm Runner as well. While I think that most of these rides are really good, Intamin really should either stop stapling people to the point they can't breathe or come up with some kind of softer, comfortable restraint. It can't be that hard.
  14. Out of the one's I have ridden: Intamin: It would probably be La Vibora, but for a real Intamin I would say Fahrenheit (it just has a boring layout) B&M: I would say maybe Vortex at CGA/Carowinds (they are both bad) GCI: Gwazi for roughness and Lightning Racers for boring
  15. AGREED! Someone shoot me. I wish this ride would open already so people will stop arguing about everything from trims to if your mom will like it.
  16. Wild Eagle Saturday night during ERT in the dark of night=AMAZEBALLS!
  17. This ride looks soooo kick ass! Thanks for covering it!!!
  18. This is how I count: Dueling/Racing coasters-count as 2. They have seperate tracks regardless (unless they are a mobius loop-that is one because it is one continuous track.) Relocated coasters-have been counting them as 2, but am rethinking my count on that because of some discussion here. Reprofiled coasters-yes, as long as it is a significant reprofile. Powered coasters-absolutely not. They are powered and do not work off of gravity. Roller coasters are gravity driven. Kiddie coasters-yes, they are a coaster as long as they aren't powered. Back yard coasters-I will probably never ride one so who cares? Traveling coasters-no, because I don't want to try and keep up with where they travel to and if I have ridden it. I have ridden a couple of fair coasters but don't count them. The only exception to this rule would be Olympia Looping or Alpina Bahn of something significant like that. Water coasters-I only count something like JTA because it has a coaster track and wheels and is gravity driven. I do not count log flumes or splash boats. I want to know how Robb or anyone else counts a ride like Blazing Fury at Dollywood? I count it but it seems like more of a dark ride with a drop.
  19. Cheetah Hunt is extreme for a family coaster? Can you please explain this to me? This must be a different ride than when I rode it because it honestly was one of the most boring things I have ever ridden. It is WAY family friendly and even kid friendly if the hight limit was different.
  20. ^Thank you! Someone with civilized and rational views.
  21. I don't boost rides because of a manufacturer. Intamin can make a crappy ride, and it's a crappy ride. Nobody here ever said "Intamin is God" so those are just words in mouths. There is no "you all" here. And if Skyrush sucks, I'll let you know the second I get off. But I highly doubt it's gonna suck. Not because it's an Intamin, but because it looks freaking great. And it does just so happen that an Intamin full of ejector air looks a million times better to me than a scaled-up B&M hyper. Give me the excitement over the lawn-chair-with-a-fan any day! OK, since you are not an Intamin fan boy then go ahead and name some Intamins that you think suck? I can name some B&M's and Intamins that suck. I like them both equally so calm down sparky. And btw, yes, there are some people on here that have said Intamin is God.
  22. And the "Intamin is God" people I will never understand you. I think that even if Skyrush was a really terrible ride and it had no forces or airtime you would all still laude it as the best ride in the world just because it is Intamin. I do love B&M but I also love Intamin. I just base a ride off of how it rides and not how it looks and what manufacturers name is attached to it. I don't think Shambhala looks all that promising even though I was excited about it, but I also think that Skyrush is not the most amazing looking thing in the world either. Once I ride it, I may change what I think but if I think it sucks, then I will say it. I will not applaud a coaster just because it is from any certain manufacturer. Both companies make good rides and if you think that B&M's are lame then by all means don't ride them and it will leave more space in line for me to ride while you bitch about how lame they are.
  23. Honestly, Leviathan looks better to me. I wasn't hard pressed to come up with one. It was easy.
  24. ^^^ LOL OMG, this looks like the best ride EVAR! I mean look at it's sexy hills and OMG the airtime is going to be astronomical! I mean I can't believe how amazing this ride looks. It is like the end all, be all of ALL coasters. It came directly from the coaster gods. Intamin is GOD! There will never be a coaster better than Skyrush!!!!!! You people make me laugh.
