  1. Nothing is really too much for me either, but I just can't stand doing it alone. That is something that I never expected myself to say EVER. Talk about a change in personality within the past year! If I were to make a long road trip, I would need some company. Jay "Progress" Willis
  2. That's just wrong... Poor penguins
  3. This is great. Everyone has been going through the trouble of snail mail to make a complete set, and now they are going to be selling them at the parks. Ahhhhh.... to be an enthusiast.
  4. Apple has come under much criticism over this issue and there are lawsuits that are going to be thrown at them (if not already). They have decided to go into the unethical practice of giving a 1-year warrenty on something that is basically manufactured to work for a year and then crap out. I'm not sure, as mentioned, if there have been formal lawsuits filled or not, but from the last I knew they were under intense investigation.
  5. Now my question is: What theme park has the best falafel?
  6. And that is probably really about it. Sunday from opening and for a couple of hours after that will be your best time for riding, and that really isn't say much. I would pray for rain.
  7. So I'm transferring to a place called Arcadia University for this upcoming school year, this going to be my 5th year in college (very long story), and I just got my housing assignment today. I didn't get a tour of the building, but I was able to pop in after the tour on my own time to check this and a couple of other places out. The campus is very small and only has 2 dorms on campus, so upperclassmen get off-campus housing at apartment and condos that the institution owns. So to make a long story short, I am in 1600 Church Road Condominiums with one roommate. 2 bedrooms, a living area, a decked out kitchen and an office space. This is going to be a great year. http://gargoyle.arcadia.edu/tour/halls/oc_1600_sign.htm http://gargoyle.arcadia.edu/tour/halls/oc_1600_ext.htm http://gargoyle.arcadia.edu/tour/halls/oc_1600_kit.htm http://gargoyle.arcadia.edu/tour/halls/oc_1600_lv.htm http://gargoyle.arcadia.edu/tour/halls/oc_1600_br.htm So, to prevent this from becoming a dead "who cares" thread, does anyone have any nightmare-ish stories about dorm roommates or just bad dorm stories in general from when they were in college or from years past? If this thread keeps going, I know I have a bunch.
  8. Really? How? The only way that I could see it is if the rides were all replaced. Why would that be worth it?
  9. My theme park eatting is basically limited to the Northeast region of the US, but I'll throw some out. Knoebel's has the best pizza (although it has been said over and over again) If you go to Lake Compounce you have to try the Fried Oreo's (which I think are called Bats?) If you go to Dorney Park you have to try the Center Stage Fries.
  10. I have no problem with this at all, but the price tag does seem like a bit much. If they can firesale sell it, it would be fine though. I mean, just get rid of the place. I really don't think it has any potential at all. The location, the rides, the space - it all equals below average and there is really no where for this park to go, whether it be up or down.
  11. Good luck in October. The park will be packed. It might be even more packed since the FrightFest activities are to be a little more family friendly this year.
  12. Alright, here it is. This is the question that has be highly debated throughout all of Philly. If you know what I'm talking about, then answer. If you don't, then don't bother posting (true Pat's style). Which is better? Pat's or Geno's? When I ate meat, it was all about Pat's for me. I just liked the style of the place, and they made a mean steak "wit". Geno's just always seemed too commercial to me and too "Las Vegas". So tell me, who ya' got? Pat's or Geno's?
  13. Thus far, the longest I have driven 3 1/2 hours strictly for an amusement park. I had a trip planned to go about 5, but that was squashed. However, I am willing to drive a long distance to get to a few parks. I would go 8-12 hours as long as there is a decent hotel waiting for me. The longest I would go in one day would have to be 4 hours each way.
  14. I love how the people keep putting their actually email addresses onto their posts. It just goes to show how little people actually read a couple of pages back.
  15. 6/10. The American ones towards the end helped me out a lot. It's a failing grade, but it gives me hope that I still have a life.
  16. Who doesn't love this ride? I don't love this ride.
  17. Well there is a long list of parks and rides that can get confusing. I'll post some of the most used ones that I've seen... Parks: SFGA = either Great Adventure or Great America SFOG = Six Flags over Georgia SFOT = Six Flags over Texas SFMM = Six Flags Magic Mountain I think you get the idea for Six Flags parks CP = Cedar Point DLR = Disneyland Resort HP = Hersheypark TGE = The Great Escape SDC = Silver Dollar City DP = Dorney Park And the list goes on... Rides: TTD = Top Thrill Dragster MF = Millennium Force (which could also be called "Millie" while Magnum XL 200 has been called "Maggie") EE = Expedition Everest KK = Kingda Ka EGF = Expedition GeForce Those are just a few. It's getting late. I need to get to bed. Hopefully that helps a little.
  18. It's a specially marked Coke can that has the Six Flags stuff on it. I guess you will just have to look around for them. And I'm not sure about the season pass thing. I would assume that they would need your receipt, so they will probably charge you the balance to get the season pass.
  19. Fair enough. I was going to say, if you are Bonaduce, just call me Matt Damon and Joe - Ben Affleck.
  20. Come on Larry, you know you are no Danny Bonaduce
  21. I can't personally comment on the ride (I got sick the day that I was going to head up to Canada and I have to cancel my plans), but I have actually heard that it is the best B&M out there from a couple well traveled dudes. I have to say, that I had a feeling that the simple layout was going to really provide a hell of a ride. I hope to get up there later in the year, if not next.
  22. I guess I need to go get those implants that I've always wanted....
  23. Alright, here are my two huge crushes as a kid that I still have a little place for..... Topanga (Danielle Fishel) on Boy Meets World Rebecca (Lori Loughlin) on Full House
  24. Thanks a lot for that post Lou. That really made me feel better about the whole thing and I'm definately going to try to make it all work out to try to get my name onto the list for the trip. Up until now, the only person that I know that would be a possibility to make it on the trip that I want to go on is Joe (Parktrips) and I'm sure we wouldn't want a sorry slob like me following him around all over the place. Once again, thanks for the great posts Lou!
  25. Really? I've been to the park and Kingda Ka's line has been 15 minutes while El Toro's is 2 hours.
