  1. I've experienced Volcano walk-ons. It was early summer of 2007 on a week day around 6PM.
  2. I don't know that a line-up of Chang, El Toro, Nitro, Bizarro, Batman, Kingda Ka, and Superman is surpassed in the Six Flags chain. Magic Mountain wins in terms of number and diversity of coasters but I'd take Nitro and El Toro over anything at Magic Mountain. I'd say your park is doing pretty well!
  3. You're probably right but this is one of the more entertaining threads around.
  4. If nothing else, I gather that at least one meal at DelGrosso's should be mandatory!
  5. I was thinking of doing a similar trip at some point but as part of a larger trip to Kennywood. Would trying to do Idlewild along with Lakemont and DelGrosso's in one day work? I was thinking about leaving early from Richmond (5:00 AM or so) and drive to DelGrosso's, Lakemont, and Idlewild. Spend the night in a hotel and then go to Kennywood the next day. Is that doable or would there be a diminished fun factor to that kind of schedule?
  6. I just put down for myself and a friend. Should be great to see some TPR people again!
  7. ^I would hear more of this "Pizza Hut" song...
  8. I don't know about the particulars of this trip but I enjoyed everything I got on the trip I went on last year. Keep up the good work and I say if giving out 135% doesn't get the reaction you're expecting, scale it back or you guys will quickly get tired of doing these trips and possibly resenting the people who go on them. I know most of us don't want that to happen! When I looked at the line up card for East Coast Bash I was really amazed at what was laid out on the itinerary. Same with the Texas trip. I only expected what was in the flyer you sent out. All the other stuff--Kemah boat ride and the Houston dirty whore credit, to name a couple--was gravy!
  9. One thing I'd just like to chime in on (and will probably sound redundant in this thread) is that parks close to Six Flags America like Hershey, Kings Dominion, and Busch Gardens were either designed to be larger size parks in their inception (BG and KD) or have had a gradual build up to be what they are today (Hershey has a 100-year history). Premier/SFI tried to make a small park with fewer rides to be a medium to large size park in the span of 5 years. Right or wrong, the infrastructure hasn't kept up with that model and I think this park struggles to be something it's not on a yearly basis. This hurts things such as ride maintenance, employee morale, and overall park image and identity. Once some of these things are addressed then maybe we'll see an overall improvement to the park. This park in its current state simply can't support another major ride like Chang or a B&M floorless/sitdown. On a side note, I'll be pumped if the park gets a Tony Hawk style coaster and will make a visit to SFA next year if it gets built.
  10. ^Right. The way people react to something like this is that the park will make a change and then...that's it...there's your ride...we're done with it.
  11. Just to stoke the flames a bit... Unconfirmed reports on kdfansite have at least some of the trims on the first drop being removed.
  12. ^I'm actually expecting the F1 coaster to be a disaster but, like you said, I doubt we'll hear from the local Abu Dhabi fanboys at least
  13. Nice pics and report as usual, Chuck! I had a smilar response to SFoG and really enjoyed how the park looked. My only issue (at least on the day I went) was how crowded the park was. I had a Flash Pass and was only able to ride each of the major coasters once. Still, I'd love to get back there. After riding Shockwave last summer I want to compare it Mindbender a little more closely. Shockwave gave me more air but I love the surroundings of MB. Would love to also visit Lake Winnie as it looks like a winner!
  14. ^Well, that might have been the way it was with you after having sex with Angelina and Love (as she likes to be known) but the latter was quite the dynamo and the former kind of mailed it in.
  15. I'll be making my first trip to Hershey this weekend (weather permitting) and I was wondering if there was anything food-wise I should try. Or is the food standard park fare?
  16. As mentioned earlier, working at your home park can destroy luster, at least for me. I like what CF's doing with KD so that makes me visit a bit more. BGW also has lost some of its luster as well. On another note, I'm also grateful for living near two great but different parks and having a really good selection of coasters all within 45 minutes of where I live.
  17. Wait...you're still doing the KD leg of the IntimidaTOUR? You should, like, not go. Maybe that will teach Intamin and KD.
  18. You make it sound like BMW suffers from low self-esteem. Maybe they just want a court-ordered hug?
  19. I always thought the Apple speeches were more pretentious than smug. But that's just semantics, at this point.
  20. Well, in my defense I only wear my coaster shirts at theme parks and when I run or go exercising or something. I don't think I've ever tried to get laid while wearing a coaster shirt. I suppose it's "cute' when a girl wears a coaster shirt. Lousy double standard... Anyway, I think it's obvious that I305 may be a work-in-progress. I hope some sort of solution arrives within the next year or so.
  21. By my count, almost half of Mitch's top 50 have an inversion of some sort. I think I need another explanation about why we need to rank looping coasters separately. The OP's logic is losing me.
