I have cancelled (deleted) the Universal Park as well as all 5 of my other projects. I realized how bad my buildings actually looked and after a lot of practice I'm ready to redo all my old concepts so they actually turn out decent! Once this project is done, perhaps I'll try again with the Universal theme park. Until then, expect lots of cool stuff and new concepts with Arcadia Point!

The city of Arcadia, Rhode Island has had its ups and downs as far as development of a new theme park goes... Local environmentalists have ceased the construction of the "Arcadia Chasm" theme park which was well underway due to the discovery of a family of extremely rare and endangered grey stink weasels, which were found nesting close to the construction site of "The Vision" roller coaster. The site was immediately zoned and made into a wildlife reserve so the precious weasels can carry on and multiply. Now that the bad news is over with, on to the good... To make up for this disaster, the Arcadia planning comission has designated a larger, coastal area just 5 miles from the chasm for development into a major theme park! This will allow chief engineer Sean Costa to incorporate all previous ideas and mostly new ones into his most extensive theme park project to date. Little is known about what's in the works, but it will be sure to excite this quiet town. This currently abandoned beach will be teeming with thrill seekers this summer as construction crews rush to complete Arcadia Point. Work continues on through the night to reach the August deadline! Stay tuned for more updates. Testing the misters in the tunnel... Oh looks like we'll know more about this thing next month. Lift hill is about halfway complete... A look at the ride's station as it nears completion. Track has been staged over the midway section as well. Looks like we caught work crews laying track! Electri City is still a mess... looks like some more containers have arrived on the worksite, perhaps trains for what we will call "Project Z" for now. The first of the themed areas is well underway... Electri City will feature the park's finest roller coaster, a top secret project from Swiss consultants Bolliger & Mabillard. This zone will be themed to a city cursed by an electrical phenomenon. A tram running in test mode through the entry plaza from parking garage A. Arcadia Point Transit purple line will bring guests from the parking structures to the entry gate and the hotels and casinos that will come up on the beach during phase 2. The Entry Plaza tram terminal is nearly complete. The newly finished ticket sales/admissions plaza is looking pretty good! Hey, what's that in the distance? We'll get to that later... The cold, spring New England air will soon be gone as summer draws closer to Arcadia Beach and the rapidly growing Arcadia Point theme park.

I'd imagine it's expensive to launch that train with so few passengers so that makes sense.

^ That is actually just a rumor that's been going on for a while. There was also a rumor that track was heading south from Ohio but really who knows. Would be awesome tho... But you'd think if track was being laid someone would notice.

New for 2007 The Scandia Silence I guess they should also tear down any buildings over 30' in this town seeing how you might be able to see into someone's yard from the roof.

These amusement ride news stories just get lamer every week... I feel like lighting something on fire just so they have something new to bitch about. Hehehe

I love the location! That roof structure also seems to be temporary, but I could be wrong. I would say it's most likely there to protect the ride from the work site above.

Sorry for the neglect, maybe I'll get some work done on my parks when I get a day off. I didn't realize it wasn't forgotten about. <3 I feel the love, hehe.

I agree, we've already lost enough Schwarzkopfs recently. The thing just needs a little love, perhaps some new restraints...

I honestly hope they DO NOT retheme Lost Continent to a Harry Potter themed land, it's the only island that doesn't have any specific licensing/pre-existing characters and I really like it the best. I see a Harry Potter ride coming before a retheme of the whole area, but that's just my hopes/opinion.

Wow, that's enough for several decent rides! I hope a new coaster is in the works for the back of IOA...

If it's anything like the ones on Sheikra, it's too attach nets to catch flying crap that may fly off on the ride. I'm pretty sure at least...

Thank you all for the comments. Let it be known that I am in no way a "Knotts hater", just wish Ghostrider would have been open on one of the three times I have been in 2 years. Right now I'm most excited about Sierra Sidewinder, believe it or not Euro Mir is one of the rides I've wanted to try out for years now, and this will hopefully be the next best thing. Looks really good! Wish they didn't have to remove the New England section tho, it would have been the only thing that reminded me of home when I actually up and move to socal in winter. I love those monorails! Thanks for the pics!
