SheiKra - "First" Water Effect
ECZenith replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, Matterhorn was the first thing to pop into my head. I'm surprised that claim was made with Journey to Atlantis an hour away. -

Huss needs to build a giant top spin outdoors, that is one impressive machine. I'm surprised only one has been sold. -
Speaking of Tokyo Disney, wasn't there some full POV of Journey to the Center Of The Earth and Indiana Jones (tokyo) on this website somehwere? I see the compilation but I could've sworn there was one showing the elevator, queue, etc. of Journey. Was it another site or just not here anymore?

Water coaster for the Uk!

Did it say if it was a Mack like Atlantica Supersplash? I know it's just a rumor at this point, just curious. -

I'll trade you Delirium for anything at SFNE besides Superman. You can always drive 4 hours North for Max Air. Sean "who has to drive 12 hours either North or West for any Huss Giant Ride" Costa -
I've got to drive at least 2 and a half hours to get to any park. Ones close to me are Lake Compounce, SFNE, and Canobie. The perfect spot for a park in New England is I-95 between Conn. and Rhode Island. Six Flags was originally supposed to build there and it got shot down. Would have been interesting seeing if Riverside could survive the competition. At least Edaville Railroad (tiny park in Carver, Mass) seems to be keeping their head above water. They were in huge financial trouble a couple years ago but seem to be adding rides gradually. I hope they don't get the Lincoln Park/Crescent Park/Whalom Park treatment, New England used to be the epicenter of amusement parks, If only I was born a decade earlier.

Borg Assimilator makes the Top 10 !!!?!!!
ECZenith replied to bgwfreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree with you on the Vekoma layout/B&M trains deal. I've been on all the Flying Dutchman coasters. BORG seemed better because of the splash of theming. I hate Star Trek but I gotta say it definately made the ride look better. The B&M flying coaster concept could be such a good thing if a park dropped one on some hilly terrain with a couple tunnels. So much potential... There's at least 2 sold that aren't built yet so let's keep our fingers crossed. -
I think I can help you out here. I find PCW's flat rides better than their coasters. As you enter the park, take a left and head for Italian Job Stunt Track, it gets a huge line quickly. The giant flats are in this area too and they are NOT TO BE MISSED. Flats worth hitting are... Huss Jump 2 (Sledgehammer) Huss UFO (Nightmares) Huss Sky Lab (one of the last ones!!) Mondial Revolution (Psyclone) Mondial Top Scan (Shockwave) Mondial Splash Over (Cliffhanger) Then there's the Intamin Gen 2 drop tower Drop Zone. I like these towers but this one seems to always break down. Italian Job - Great new Premier LIM coaster with ::gasp:: theming!! Wild Beast - It's a mediocre wooden coaster, worth a ride. Dragon Fire - Arrow loop/corkscrew... decent. The Bat - Unless you like Vekoma boomerangs, skip it. Vortex - Arrow suspended coaster (endangered species) I've never seen more than a 15 minute wait for it, but i could be wrong. Hit this one. The Fly - This is the best Wild Mouse I've been on, don't miss it. Thunder Run - (I dont count this as a coaster since its powered) This ride's pretty neat but not worth more than a 20 minute wait. It's a dark coaster mine-train ride inside Wonder Mountain. It's very short so you go around twice. Mine Buster aka Spine Buster, it's a very rough wooden coaster, I don't reccomend it. Top Gun - Skip it unless you like painful Vekoma SLC's. Sky Rider - TOGO Standup Skip it unless you don't plan on having children in the future. Tomb Raider - A lot of people don't like the Zamperla Volare coasters because of the cage-car you ride in and the painful sharp turns. I didn't find it to be THAT bad, but consider yourself warned. Silver Streak - Vekoma family suspended... Never has a line, if you need the credit... Taxi Jam - Save this one for the kiddies. Ghoster Coaster - Ditto here. I did the whole park in less than a day, jus make sure you go on a weekday, if the weather sucks, the rest of the park will be crowded as on hot days, the water park soaks up a lot of the crowd. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

TTD STUCK ON TOP!!!
ECZenith replied to Crazy4Coasters!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's not too hard to believe, that train is pretty heavy (even after the spoiler and tires were removed) and it's a sharp change in direction. If it has just a tiny bit less power than it needs, of course it will run out of momentum at the top. http://www.rcdb.com/ig1896.htm?picture=28 I don't believe there's any kind of brake or tire drive up there. If a man can push a truck while it's in neutral, there's no reason he wouldn't be able to push a Dragster train over the top. Granted it is heavy, but on wheels it would just need a little momentum to get going again. -

Get rich and creative and stay out of New England. We have thousands of 300 pound soccer moms that shoot down any proposal to build a park. NOT IN MY BACKYARD! But seriously, I guess the easiest way to start an amusement park would be to find partners and investors. Get a sub-tropical location with a big tourist flow. Start with go-karts and a mini golf course, etc... and if you started to make some money, get some used rides and go from there. Or, make some nice, rich celebrity friends, get them drunk and present the idea.

Worst Coaster Ever?
ECZenith replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
http://www.rcdb.com/ig629.htm?picture=4 Don't let the new paint fool you. Underneath, it's still a rusty, Vekoma boomerang that's been moved twice. -
Hey everybody, Just got back today from a trip to Allentown to check out Hydra. We arrived yesterday at noon to find the parking lot nearly empty, and likewise, the rides. My girlfriend Ali and I started with Hydra's front seat. The ride was a walk-on, even the front row. At times, we were the only two on the train. Hydra was fun but felt very slow and without much force. The best two parts are the jojo roll right out of the station and the unique cobra roll. Add to that the fact that it didn't start with (or include for that matter) a vertical loop, which has been done on every other B&M coaster capable of having one... Here is a link to my Hydra video. http://s47.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=04RFUUWI341T41T43LBL1EEVS9 Talon was next. GREAT B&M inverted coaster. Last time I came here, Talon had not yet been built so it was new to me. Once again, a walk-on for the front seat. Took many rides on both Talon and Hydra throughout the day. This coaster has some unique elements as well, and the finale was fantastic. Check out my short Talon video. (I know I didn't get enough footage of this puppy) http://s37.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2NRM2DPVHDEKL0RLA8J50XIY7K Other coasters throughout the day were Laser (Schwarzkopf Doppel Looping). (does this ride have the slowest lift ever or what??) Steel Force, not a big fan of Morgan hypers but its a classic. Thunderhawk, the park's wooden coaster, and the Wild Mouse (which had the only line we waited in all day). Dorney removed their Skyscraper upcharge ride (I believe it's going to Valleyfair?) and they know have a brand spankin' new S&S Power Screamin' Swing. The ride cycle is very short, but pretty intense with great visuals. Definately worth the 5 bucks they were asking to ride. Check out the Screamin' Swing in action. http://s44.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1M11OI62TQR2S1NS5QOQ4KGUWH Other rides we hit were... White Water Landing (Chance-Morgan) Revolution* Tilt A Whirl Sizzler Monster Meteor (Zamperla Hawk)* Hang Time (Huss Top Spin)* Dominator (S&S Complex)* That's all for now, if you'd like to see videos of any rides with a * next to them, I'll post them for ya. -Peace

Sweet, I found some videos I was looking for. (Indiana Jones Adventure and Tower Of Terror) Anyone know where I can find a Test Track and/or Rocket Rods video? -
At IOA be sure to hit Spiderman first, always gets long lines throughout the day.
