  1. Only two trains... I was thinking about capacity myself, but like others have said, it seems the park doesn't get very crowded, and like all other rocket coasters, it probably gets through its circuit pretty quickly.
  2. I would suggest waiting until 2007 for CP anyways. Apparently they're building a new coaster next season.
  3. Balls... Besides Hurricane they also have a cool wild mouse ride. Hopefully they're sold to someone nearby. Sad to see the park is finally going to close.
  4. It was in 2004 that I rode it, the year Sky Screamer opened... my b.
  5. I consider myself lucky then... I rode the Piledriver the year it opened. There's also a small, Zamperla balloon ride on the opposite building on the roof. Piledriver was great, mainly for the view of the falls. This tower is much closer, but much shorter than the nearby S&S Sky Screamer.
  6. RCDB lists Speed Monster as having two - three car trains. When a coaster is using only a couple of cars it is during the pull-through: the testing phase before actual circuit testing to make sure the track is secure and clearances are met. Using only a couple of cars on a coaster that would actually run more once opened would make the coaster run the course at the wrong speed.
  7. I took these a few years ago... Batwing train going through the horseshoe turn. Batwing approaching the 1st drop. Two-Face in the boomerang element. Roar
  8. I was wondering what was going on with this coaster. The trains are SO short! That pretzel twist looks ridiculous. I can only hope an Intamin this twisted ends up in the US in the future. Thanks for the update!
  9. http://www.cliftonhill.com/falls_blog/2005/05/28/party-time-on-clifton-hill/ Ah, found the article. Wow... Wonder if this will ever come to fruition.
  10. It's been a few years since I've been to Niagara Falls, I was hoping one of our Canadian/Buffalo-area members could answer a few questions. I have seen the recent photos of the indoor waterpark on Clifton Hill, but isn't there a plan to build an amusement park with a couple coasters on the drawing board? Just where are they planning to squeeze this in? Also, I always want to check out one of the dozen or so haunted houses they have all over the place. I went in one called "Alien Encounter" a couple years ago and it was pretty good. The actors actually grabbed at the people walking through. Which of these haunted houses are worth the money? There's just so many of them and with me planning a trip for (hopefully) this summer, I'd like to hit a few. Any info is appreciated.
  11. I'll see about getting you one from SFNE next week. Good idea.
  12. Jeez, it seems everytime I see a PTR of Disneyland Space Mountain is always breaking down... Better be running when I go for the first time in May.
  13. If you haven't seen the Science channel show, I highly reccomend it. They show all of the interesting angles of Everest, including the transfer tracks and LOTS of footage of the yeti itself. One of the things I thought was funny, was when the yeti was being developed in Cali, they wouldn't allow cameras to show its face so the entire thing was hidden behind a blurry sheet of plastic. Later in the show, however, the entire yeti is shown. Goddamn is it ever huge. it will be even more impressive when I see it in person. Great job Joe and company!
  14. At least they didn't get rid of the bunny hop! I was hoping they were going to spruce up the "animatronics" they have throughout the ride...
  15. SFMM's freefall definately counts as a freefall despite the people that count them as coasters. Oooo, all this talk about drop rides makes me want to ride PKD's drop zone even more. Does this one hold you up at the top forever like PKI's version?
  16. I'm glad they waited a few years between coasters because the park needed a couple of giant flat rides-and that's just what they got. One big coaster in '07 is better than getting a bunch of small, lame coasters over a couple years.
  17. Dante's Inferno was a chance trabant. The park also had an indoor scrambler "The Abominable Snowman". Weird? Yes...
  18. Progress seems to be moving laong much faster now, thanks for the update GA!
  19. Damn, I never knew it was because of a divorce! Given the quality of their rides I knew it wasn't the same way Arrow went down. At least the staff is still working for different ride companies now.
  20. No that's the other ghetto water park-Action Park in NJ.
  21. Wow, the theming's coming along pretty quickly. I love how the Immelman wraps around the "mountain".
  22. They showed a preview for the science channel show coming on tomorrow. Lots of up-close shots of the yeti AA in development and completed.
  23. Outstanding photos. The full-full looks sick! Can't wait to see this nameless 4D tetsing. Whenever TPR heads to Japan next, I'm there...
  24. Does anyone have any recent updates? Still so much to put up! I'm not worried as I probably won't be able to get down to GADV until Sept or so, I just wonder what kept the ride from being ready by now.
