Walibi Holland Discussion Thread
AlmereStars replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Promoting the new theme and opening of the season has really started now. Regular commercials aired yesterday, but besides that both songs (w.a.b. and skunx) are on the air at TMF, a dutch musicchannel. And Walibi has signed a contract with nickelodeon, which will probably air a cartoon about both bands in Holland and Belgium. -
Took around 20 seconds to load in Firefox, with an 20 mb/s connection. When loaded a second time, everything pops up pretty fast. Except for the Disney Add at the right side of the screen. That one takes, again, around 20 seconds to load for me Other browsers: Chrome: 5 seconds, add 8 seconds Opera: 7 seconds with add (no difference between add and the rest) IE 9 (beta): 6 seconds with add Safari: 5 Seconds, add 9 seconds

@paradisecoaster: Thanks, The Kong Coaster is the best coaster I made with RCT. I really like how it turned out. Custom Supporting it didn't take me that long. With Wooden Supporters I always make blocks. Like 2h blocks and a block for Gentle Slope and for a small/medium/large curve etc. etc. Then Save all those blockpieces with the save scenery tool and then its just like lego. Stack them below the coaster and use the appopriate pieces. @tiger01: Thanks, I really hope Atari can help me but they haven't answered my ticket yet SoCalCoasters: Thank you, I hope I can show you more in the future gci2011: looks good; the fountains looks better this way. Its not that busy anymore R.C: You used the chimney as a wall/post at your station?? haha nice touch! I like it -

Well I've given up on RCT3. The game keeps crashing when the park is getting a little big and since the savefile is 18mb the game won't even load the park.. I really hate it because I was really happy with what I've build so far. I tried everything from reinstalling the game to reinstalling windows XP entirely. The game isn't downloaded and fully patched and All my drivers are up to date. I really don't know what I can do to keep the game from crasing/being unable to load the park but since I did made a lot of progress, I still want everyone to see what i've made. So here it goes: The park was going to be called Poortania: Het Geheim van Avontuur. In English: Poortana: The Secret of Adventure the entrance to the parking lot; theres a tram running trough the parking lot to the entrance 10.bmp The parking lot with the parks entrance. close up of the entrance with the ticket boots/information center @ night Once you enter the park, you'll walk trough the main street with lots of shops at the end of the mainstreet you'll encounter the double deck caroussel and this ride Behind the double decker you'll find the station Where you can catch the park's transportation if you make aright at the station you'll see the small rollercoaster its the ride from the blueprint I posted earlier I really like it! if you make a left at the station you'll find yourself heading towars monkey town Monkey Town is a huge playground surrounded by rides and a Monkey Shelter with loads of different monkeys and a small show, People dive of the platforms and swing around like monkeys... ow and the area is also home to this small ride (yes that is a station fly-by It is called Kong! (impressive uh?) Heres a picture from above the ride/main street and last a picture where you can see everything I've done so far I know there are a lot of pictures, but I really want to share it. I'll keep the files so maybe in the future I'll try it again and hope RCT3 can handle it -
Boulder Leisure Park [RCT3]
AlmereStars replied to gci2011's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I downloaded the park and I have most of your CS list.. except NYRShingle Roofs and Shy Expo3000 set. I have to say its a good park, lots of different kind of rides and I absolutely love what you have done with the bumper cars! I also like RPM, I dont use the spiral coaster cause I dont like it, but I do like this one. The main streest is obviously the best section of the park. Its also a good thing that you combined CS with a lot of non-cs Scenery, I suck at combining those 2 and stick with the Custom Scnerey most of the time. All in all a good park! -

Walibi Holland Discussion Thread
AlmereStars replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oke, since today the new website was launched: http://www.walibi.com. It has a lot of cool comics and other stuff conserning the battle Walibi World officially changed there name to Walibi Holland. ALL the walibi parks will have this new theming, The Music Battle. The music battle will be a popgroup formed by Walibi (walibi is not a cute and young mascotte anymore, but a more mature one) called WAB. They play against The Skunxs, a rock group that is formed by Sqaud. The battle will be played on the internet, where you can create an account and choose Wab or The Skunxs as your favourite band. By playing games on the website you score points, and so do all the others. So if you choose WaB, you will earn points for WaB, while the players who choose The Skunxs will earn points for The Skunxs. Making this an online battle. In the parks themselves a lot of new theming is going one. For example, La Via Volta (the boomerang) is going to reopen the coming season and has been repainted to match the colours of Haaze. haaze is a bandmember of WaB, the purple wearing guitar dude. There is also a rumour going on that it will be called Speed of Haaze. I'm not really sure how they incorporate the battle in the parks. But I think this new style is pretty good. I think it will make the Walibi parks more family orientated This is the song by WaB http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrQxN2jlLGs the song made by The Skunxs I really think the animations look really good and the music is pretty good as well! Some other changes that has been rumoured/confirmed: - The Flying Dutchman GoldMine (wild mouse credit) has been demolished and moved to another park - Wok's Waanzin (the little kiddycoaster) will move to the old Flying Dutchman spot - They removed everything from the entrance hall, litteraly everything. They're reorganizing the merchandisingspots and all the other stuff - (rumour) Walibi also got a permit for inside building. This could be connected to the changes they are making in the entrance hall, but there are also a lot of rumours going on that they are going to get a 4D theatre - They also got a permit for removing 8 buildings, but its not sure which buildings will be demolished. I think one of the buildings will be the King Solomon Mine stage, that show hasn't run for couple of years now but the stage is still there List of name changes (old - new): Cavalli Baroca - Merrie Go'round Picolini – Super Swing Bonte ballonnen – Fibi’s Bubble Swirl Rockey’s Trucks– Haaz’ Garage Boris Ballenfabriek – Kids Playground Woks Waanzin – Rattle Snake Joe stuntvlieger – Squad’s stunt flight Toeter – W.A.B. World tour Koa’s Komische karretjes – Walibi’s Fun Recorder Lollige Lilly – Zenko’s Graffity Shuttle -
Newton Lodge Theme Park (RCT3)
AlmereStars replied to Mr P's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Good job so far on the park. Both of your coasters look really fun! A small tip to make your shops look better: A lot of CS-packs come with Counter Covers. For example: ShyGuy's Main Street Set #3 has a wooden counter cover that you can use in the shop in your first update. Play with it a little bit and it makes the shop look a lot better! good luck -

Uhm I placed the rollercoaster on an all snowground (so the background is white) and removed the supports with the viewoption so you only have the track. Then just take a picture of it. In photoshop you remove the coaster from the picture. Place it all on a blue background, make the track white. Add some lines and text and thats it actually heres a picture of 1 of the blueprints -

@CCI: Nice woody! Maybe you could add some supports at the side of the rollercoaster?? @gci2011: Those 4 fountains look like a lot because there all the same, You could make 1 fountain bigger then others or remove some of the straight fountains in the center of the fountains etc. Heres my wednesday preview The tekst is a bit dutch and a bit english, sorry for that. I started dutch, but decided to translate it in english. But I already saved and closed the photoshopfile when I found out I have not translated everything. Personen means Persons and Bouwjaar means Year of Construction Its a bleuprint for a rollercoaster I'm using at the park. It will be a family coaster -

^ Adding more trees does make it more realistic, but it also makes it harder to renew that area because you have to remove all the trees again. I'm a big stadium/Arena fan, and I have to say that you made a nice one! Good luck with the rest of the park
