  1. Just heard that there is now FlashPass available for Medusa. It is not part of the typical VIP pass and it is MX$100 (US$7.70) per ride. I do not believe you need to have a VIP pass to purchase the Medusa FlashPass.
  2. That double down on the water coaster looks really cool!
  3. The 'giant band-aid' is actually a garden hose watering nozzle. But yeah it does look kind of band-aid-y.
  4. GL is awesome. It could be more awesome, but clearly most people cannot handle these things called 'forces' and therefore we can't have the nice version, like Insane.
  5. The way it interacts with Jet Stream, the trees, and the terrain in general is just everything I love about roller coasters. By all means, the big ones are fun too, but I love me some terrain action, which is something we don't have a whole lot of here in so cal.
  6. Yes On the flip-side, is Golden Horse at the show?
  7. Ninja is probably my favorite ride at the park. No joke.
  8. When I do a weekend at the parks, I stay at the Rodeway. It's about a 20 minute walk to the parks, and to get back, you can use the Mickey & Friends Tram, walk through the parking garage on the 2nd floor, and leave through the employee entrance. Unfortunately, this won't work going TO the parks, just coming FROM them. At around $45 a night mid-week it's hard to beat! It's NOTHING fancy...at all...but the only time we spend there is sleeping so it hardly matters.
  9. Well, an hour and a half away from each other, but either way, I wouldn't be complaining if that happened! If anything it could get California back on the enthusiast map
  10. OMG they really expanded the queue area!!! How long of a wait did the ride have all day?
  11. Medusa's cool layout allowed for the multiple headchoppers, I don't see that being AS possible on Colossus. Ghostrider, on the other hand.....
  12. Just saw it on Facebook, looks pretty amazing!!!
  13. The Boomerang AND the SLC are both actually pretty good at SFM
  14. I think a MegaLite would compliment Apocolypse quite well, actually.... ....but we all know that SFMM can't market a MegaLite with any 'est' attached to it so it will probably never happen. Would be nice though.
  15. There are soooooo many different reasons why this would be a horrible, horrible idea.... - Different maintenance required on two different tracks of one coaster. - Different support structure needed - Different track type needed - Different control system needed - The confusion of your average guest - It's simply not a good idea to begin with I could continue the list, but this a horrible idea. THANK YOU ROBB. I have no idea why this strange concept keeps coming up.
  16. How am I supposed to help save the world with the power of music now?????? Crap!
  17. Don't worry, regardless of the dramatic picture, Medusa is fine And if you recall, the games section is nowhere near it...it's between Boomerang and the kids area. Can't wait to ride this thing! Lookin at July or August!!!! (but flights are expensive and the whole Tijuana thing is a pain in the ass)
  18. Haven't posted here in a while, although there are plenty of pictures of me in my Mexico Thread. This picture was taken after taking the elusive LEFT turn out of the station at DLR Space Mountain.
  19. It appears that there was a fire at the park (games section) today according to Informador. No damage to rides or injuries, and the park has posted to Facebook that they are open for business. www.informador.com.mx/mexico/2014/532044/6/incendio-en-six-flags-causado-por-un-corto-circuito.htm Google Translated: MEXICO CITY (08/JUN/2014) -. Apparent short circuit in a cellar where botargas teddies and the Six Flags amusement park, located on the Picacho-Ajusco highway in the vicinity of the Tlalpan delegation are saved, caused a This morning fire Sunday in minutes was controlled by members of the Fire Department of this city, no injuries were recorded. However, the plume reached just over 10 meters high, causing alarm among neighbors and attendees from seven in the morning they were formed out of the building to enter. These were the ones who alerted the authorities of the fire, while inside, the employees tried to quell the incident with fire, which firefighters say, avoid greater situation. Raul Esquivel, director general of the Heroic Fire Department of the City of Mexico, reported via his Twitter account that to quell the incident at this winery, where the roof collapsed, but fortunately did not leave injured 50 firefighters participated of Tlalpan, Álvaro Obregón, Xochimilco and the module 1 seasons with 12 car bombs and eight tanks cars. So far, the Six Flags Mexico authorities have not commented on these events despite the insistence of the media to get an official version of events.
  20. I don't think anybody 'hates' SFMM. I personally also think we give it a little too much crap here, however, it very much is, our red-headed step-child. That being said, I have been impressed with the past few years at the park. I like the amount of foliage around the park and honestly think they create a nice environment with that alone. More Trees, More Fun.
  21. I rode GhostRider yesterday, in the center of the train, and it was actually running pretty well. A little rough at the bottom of the drops but nothing too uncomfortable. The only real 'SMH' moment is when they stop you before 'the' drop. It's wildly depressing every time.
  22. Yes, I'm a SFM fanboy but after seeing the Goliath POV, I really think Medusa is going to be THE RMC coaster of 2014!!!
  23. The roller coaster advice is all sound, but if you haven't gambled before, find a $5 craps table and bet on the pass line. Your money will stay stagnant (win some, lose some) until you figure out the game, and you get free drinks while you are hanging out there!
