Photo TR: It Came From Wes's Closet
spacemtfan replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You know...I got a collection of old Disneyland maps (dating back to when Snow White's Stage show was new), picture books, and all sorts of stuff. Maybe I should upload them since everyone seems to be doing it. ---Space "Disneyland stuff in my drawer" mtfan -
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Poll
spacemtfan replied to spacemtfan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Does it really work with the ride? -
For anyone who didn't know, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster is a high-speed launching roller coaster in the dark that features three inversions and the ride is accompanied by the tunes of the band, Aerosmith. On the Disneyland Paris version, there is a light show that is different with every soundtrack. Well, there are five different remixes of Aerosmith songs, so I want to know which you think is that best. I hope this topic hasn't been done yet.

As explained in another thread, originally two dates (January 14 and 15th) showed Space Mountain on the refurbishment schedule. First, there was a rumor that Rockin' Space Mountain may come back. But then, on a recent visit, there was duct tape on the rocket rails and paint scrapes everywhere. Here is a video by break09 that explains my point. When the ride 101'd and the rockets were being pushed back down to the station, the wheels were making a loud squeaking noise. It sounded very painful to the ears: So, who thinks that Space Mountain could use a refurbishment? EDIT: You can now talk about ANY ride at the Disneyland Resort that needs a refurbishment.

RCT2: TPR Theme Park
spacemtfan replied to WillMontu's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
You have to post it as a download! I love to play this park! By the way, don't you have anything KidTums approved? -
I recently had my first coaster breakdown on California Screamin' on Sunday. We were sitting on the brake run before the station and the speakers were playing that annoying "dun-dun-DUN" music before I looked up and saw another train E-stopped on a brake run. Since we were already done with the ride, we pretty much got a FASTPASS for another free ride! It was cool!

On Sunday, my sister and I rode California Screamin' with only a 30-minute wait. This ride was good since we got the train with good speakers. Anyway, at the end of the ride, we stopped on the brake zone before re-entering the station to get off. Meanwhile, the annoying "dun-dun-DUN" stall music was playing. After hearing the delay message for about the 6th time, I looked up and saw that the purple train had just E-stopped on another brake zone. The work lights come on and we were evacuated. it was pretty cool.

Worst New Addition for 2007
spacemtfan replied to coastermaniac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm surprised that no one has said that Rockin' Space Mountain and Rockin' California Screamin' was a worst addition for 2007. -
I went to Disneyland on December 14, 2007 and rode California Screamin' as my second attraction in DCA. Line was about 20 minutes. We were seated in the third row of the green train. The speakers continously cut out on me during the ride and they aren't as loud as they used to be...again. I'm extremely saddened to see that the speakers (that were just replaced earlier 2007) are starting to become problematic again. I also heard about the speakers on Space Mountain: Mission 2 at Disneyland Paris running into the same problems. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Space Mountain have sound systems too but they don't seem to have any problems. My question is: Are the California Screamin' speakers and Space Mountain (California) speakers made by the same company or are they different? ----space "The Rockin' speakers were better" mtfan

Is anybodys home park their favorite?
spacemtfan replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My home parks are Disneyland and Knott's, so my home park is my favorite! -
Okay, it's official, you're an idiot. Sorry, it's just that Disney World has been the news lately and it makes me sad that the most-visited park in the U.S.A. is suffering from all of these deaths. It surely can't be good for business. I mean ever since the 2003 and 2004 accidents on Disneyland's Big Thunder Mountain, I never seen it with a wait longer than 35 minutes (before it had lines that rivaled the Matterhorn's). But that was just one ride. This is a HUGE resort that almost 15 million people visit a year! I'm sure that this and recent incidents will impact business and the parks' attendance. Once again...my respects and condolences to Jeffrey Reed and his family. May he enjoy that great theme park in the sky. R.I.P. Jeffrey Reed ------space "I only act like an idiot" mtfan

Okay, it's official, Walt Disney World's cursed. I mean, first someone dies on Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, then someone dies on a Disney World bus, and now Expedition Everest. Me thinks there is a conspiracy going on at Disney World. Anyone ever saw that one anime called "Death Note." It's about a kid who has a power to write someone's name down in a book and that person dies of a heart attack 40 seconds later. I think someone got something like that at Disney World. Call me an idiot, I don't care either way until Disney World has been excorised, I officially declare that: Disneyland in CA >>>>>>>> Disney World in Orlando Oh and...my respects are to Jeffrey Reed and his family. So last night, on Friday December 14 2007, my family and I stalked out a spot in the central hub about an hour and 5 minutes ahead of time. It was really boring and really freezing. I saw a weather balloon get released before the show, and it was floating south towards the Disneyland Railroad station on Main Street USA. I wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing. The fireworks "Believe...in Holiday Magic" then continued...for about 5 minutes. Then, the music stopped, the lights came back on, and the oh-so dreadful annoucement came: "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, due to winds at higher elevations, our fireworks spectacular Believe in Holiday Magic cannot continue as scheduled." I was a little mad since I waited for over an hour just for 5 minutes of fireworks. Though I can understand why they shut it down. The smoke was drifting into the crowd, which could cause someone with asthma or something like that to go under a spasm. So it was excusable... The plus side was that in an effort to relieve after-fireworks congestion on Main Street, the CM's diverted everyone backstage behind the Main Street shops. I got to see where the Jungle Cruise boats were stored. My question is if Disney releases a weather balloon, where should it float towards to assure a fireworks show? What happens if they run the fireworks show even though the wind is unsuitable?
