  1. ^^ You say that you rode RockIt Mountain twice. But in Jahan's Grad Nite report, the line for RockIt Mountain was posted at 125 minutes! You mean to tell me that you waited in the line twice! As for the information, the refurbishment has been taken down. But who knows what'll happen.
  2. My school is inviting everyone who has passed the CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exam) to a field trip to Sea World. I was fortunate enough to get invited, but I have never been to Sea World before. I really don't know what to do there. 1) Besides Journey to Altantis and Shipwreck Rapids, what else should I try? 2) What are some good (and inexpensive places) to eat? 3) Will it be crowded? Thanks a bunch! ---space "Going to get eaten by Shamu" mtfan!
  3. I'm working on the photos. For some reason, the site doesn't let me upload the pictures. Sorry about that. I'll try to get the pictures up as soon as possible.
  4. Yo! What’s up everybody? My name is spacemtfan (16 years old). I live in San Bernardino, CA and I'm a big Disney theme park fan! My dream is to go to every single park around the world! However, being that I'm only 16, the only two parks I go to is DLR and Knott's. I have no pictures of the trip because I do not wish to reveal myself or my family. My mother is where I got the whole Disneyland thing. She likes Disney theme parks almost as much as me. She really has a liking to the “Fox & the Hound.” My little sister, now she is a wild one. No roller coaster or thrill ride on Earth is too extreme for her! She’s usually my riding buddy for most of the roller coaster attractions. My little brother only likes a few of the Disney attractions, his favorite being Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. TRIP REPORT NOTE: We did not go to California Adventure because my cousin was with us. He only had a One-Day, One-Park ticket and my mom didn’t feel like paying for an upgrade. The idea of going to Disneyland happened when my school district closed all of the schools because of poor air qualities. Since we had nothing to do, we went to Disneyland. We also took my cousin with us. We arrived at the resort around 11:45-ish a.m. We parked into the Timon Parking Lot. To my family, if the parking lot is empty, then the parks are empty. So the fact there was very little cars parked in the parking lot and that there were a lot of empty rows on the tram were a very good sign for us. My cousin was with us and his mom got him a One-Day, One-Park Ticket. The fact that we can’t park-hop upsets my mom, since my family loves to park-hop between the two parks. Since it was too expensive to upgrade the ticket to a park-hopper, we decided to just go to Disneyland Park only. Hi, I'm pumpkin Donald! Mickey dressed in a mask The park was dead. There were very few crowds and the lines for most attractions were tolerable. I went ahead of my family and checked out the ride board. One thing that attracted me was the line for Space Mountain: 15 minutes! We then rushed over to Tomorrowland and Space Mountain. Everyone except my little brother headed into Space Mountain. My little brother, let’s called him Alex, had a bad experience with Space Mountain. When he was about 5, my parents took him on it (pre-2003 refurbishment); not knowing it was a roller coaster in the dark. He got scared. He DID try the new Space Mountain. This time he wasn’t scared, he was disappointed how most people say that the ride has really changed…when there was actually no changes at all (just new music). Now, he likes to hang out at the Starcade while we ride. The line for Space Mountain ended up being only 20 minutes. I haven’t waited in a line that short since Rockin’ Space Mountain was installed. Throughout the line I noticed some scratched-up paint from the walls and the railings. After walking through the inside queue line, we entered the main boarding area. I don’t know about you guys, but I love the sound of the brakes hissing and lap bars lifting. I don’t know why, I just like it. Anyway, I was seated with my cousin in the back row of the front rocket. One thing that shocked me about the rocket…there was duct tape on the rail in front of us! IMHO, if you need to duct tape anything, the ride seriously needs a refurbishment. As for the ride itself, it was great as always! Fast, tight turns, mild G-forces, and flying past the stars. There’s a thread on MiceChat that dealt with reducing light in the mountain so that it doesn’t really any of the ride’s structure. One idea I have is reducing the size of the stars. When I was at the top of the second lift and into the mountain, I noticed that the stars are really big! My idea is making them small light dots. In conclusion, I hope that closing Space Mountain for two days in January 2008 will bring the ride back to its former glory. Onride photo of my mom and sister on Space Mountain After Space Mountain, we walked around the Observation thing and we had a choice between a 60-minute wait for the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage and a 35-minute wait for the Autopia. We decided for the latter since my brother loves bumping people on Autopia and that Nemo isn’t really worth an hour wait (I love the ride, but I do think that it isn’t really worth an hour wait). The Autopia was fun. I got to drive with my mom. Eve though the ride is on a guard-rail, I recommend riding just to look at the sights, the Car Park, the off-road section, and a view of the submarines. And…if you’re like my little brother and sister, you can bump into people and stop on the road and cause a massive-traffic jam. From left to right: Sister Vony, Cousin Brian, Me, and Brother Alex We took a few pictures of the Submarine Voyage before riding the Matterhorn Bobsleds, another coaster that I haven’t rode for a while. It’s also one of the very few Disneyland roller coasters my brother likes. The line was very fast and it ended up only being 15 minutes. We got the Fantasyland side of the ride. It was fun, but very rough. I do hope that Disney gets around to adding retractable seat belts. I feel the seatbelts already on the ride are unsafe. Border Patrol's hot on my ass! Let me in! ME: I can fly with this car! ALEX: He just f***cked up my picture. We took a ride on the Mad Tea Party before heading off to Frontierland and checking out Woody’s Halloween Round-up! Now normally, we don’t go for small diversions like this one. But it wasn’t busy anyway so…we decided to check it out. It’s a nice peaceful place with a lot of cool pumpkin carvings and goats to pet, though the goats all did have evil eyes that seemed very intimidating. Cool pumpkin carvings! Pretty, pretty flowers! What do you mean you got no money?!? Let me see your cards! Nice goatie! Don't try to kill me! Group shot of us near Ranch! Us with my home dog Goofy! It was around 2:30, so we left the park and had a nice lunch over at a nearby Denny’s. Even though the breakfast at Denny’s is nasty, they make a nice grilled cheese sandwich. Back in the park, we let our stomachs settle down on the Jungle Cruise. We're going to die, aren't we? Freaky tree with a face Hi, Wes! Do I have Hippo breath? Then after that, we headed over to the Indiana Jones Adventure. Now, Jahan from Theme Park Review continues ranting on about how the ride needs a refurbishment because some of the effects aren’t working. ALL of the effects were working when I went. The ride was cool, especially since I was on the edge of the car. We then rode Pirates of the Caribbean. Now since I have been through the ride hundreds of times before, I just look for all the hidden stuff such as where the lighting and audio are hidden. It’s just fun for me. One thing I like about the ride is how if the time is right, you can feel the air coming from the cannons of the Wicket Wench. A nice detail added. The Haunted Mansion Holiday was next on the list. The overlay is my favorite because it includes characters from the Nightmare before Christmas. Nothing new was added to the overlay, however, there’s a cool-looking Jack Skellington cake in the ballroom. After that, we decided to head over to Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer’s Island. The pirate stuff doesn’t really make much of a difference. It’s still Tom Sawyer Island to me. It still has all of the bridges and tiny caves. The maps were nice and Jack Sparrow was always on-hand to meet and greet with the guests (although they could be more organized with the Jack Sparrow greeting). Once we got back to the mainland, we rode on Big Thunder Mountain. This ride was probably the longest wait (25 minutes) we endured simply because there was only one-station running and they were always sending out an empty train. WHY?!? They’re not using FASTPASS that day, so why can’t they use both freaking stations! The ride was fun anyway. A bit rough, but enjoyable. After Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, it was about three hours until closing. What to do now? We already did everything we wanted to do. We couldn’t park-hop, then again DCA was closed. We decided to do a few more rides in Fantasyland, including Dumbo, Casey Jr., and Snow White’s Scary Adventures. Then we headed home.[/img]
  5. well it turns out that the ride may ACTUALLY be closed for a refurbishment. When I went to Disneyland on Thursday and rode Space Mountain, some things that startled me was some parts of the audio missing (such as the top of the first lift. There used to be a louder powering up noise. Now it's very faint) and there was duct tape on the rail in front of the rockets. So some things I want to see during the refurb is: 1) A singles line! 2) The music to be updated a bit. 3) Some Hong Kong Disneyland effects to come over to Disneyland. 4) The damn asteriod to work. 5) No scratched up paint or duct taped restraints.
  6. The Mickey head on California Screamin' is still better than what's replacing it!
  7. Hey, I read in Bob Sehlinger's "Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2008" and in his Space Mountain review at the bottom, it said that: "Those California imports keep coming! Plans for Space Mountain are calling for the futuristic music to be changed temporary to rock 'n' roll music for Rockit Mountain, a California overlay featuring blinking lights that was very popular with fans in California." Don't believe me? Read it up and see for yourself!
  8. Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! They're replacing the Mickey head on California Screamin'? Okay now I'm pissed!
  9. Wow, the number of people who hate Rockin' Space Mountain is outragoues. Oh, but I bet everyone would like it if they do this at Tokyo Disneyland...
  10. Well despite the criticisms, I HOPE they bring back Rockin' Space Mountain and Rockin' California Screamin'! Rockin' Space Mountain was loved by me, my sister, and my mom (my little brother hated it though). However, i insist that they would lighten up on the lights and make them actually synch to the ride and music (like DLP's Rock n Roller Coaster). They can pick a different band if they liked. Rockin' California Screamin' was loved by me and my sister. I know, the only real change made to the ride was the soundtrack, but that little change forms my sister's opinion. I think the regular soundtrack is good, but my sister says that RHCP music makes it a lot better. So I'm REALLY hoping that Disney brings back Rockin' Both Parks for like two months (four months is too much). ---space "shun me if you must" mtfan!
  11. Hey, I saw on Disneyland's official website that on January 15-16, Space Mountain will be closed. Does anyone know what they're going to do? Do you think Rockin' might come back?
  12. These updates are pretty cool...but I'm still waiting for your Tokyo Disney Resort update. I hope you can get a POV of the new Space Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland!
  13. Okay, it's time for ole spacemtfan to say something about my favorite park. First off...I thank the Disney company for leaving Soarin', Tower of Terror, California Screamin', and Grizzly River Run alone. One thing I do not like about the makeover is that once it's done...people are going to want to go to the park. Now, like Jahan, I find California Adventure my "overflow" park, in which whenever Disneyland gets too busy, we simply park-hop to the almost-never crowded DCA. Now that people are going to the park, I have to wait in long lines for my favorite rides! But, if it's the best to help keep my favorite park running, then I guess I'll get used to the crowds. The Entry Plaza...it seems pretty cool. But, the trolleys I'm not too sure of. They're going to cause some massive congestion in an already small park. But it looks very nice and I can't wait to see how they can make something so grand in such a tiny space. The Little Mermaid ride...well, I was never too big on Ariel and her fishy friends...but it seems like it'll be like a Fantasyland dark ride and it will (I hope) use the Omnimover system like the Haunted Mansion of the Nemo ride at Epcot. I'll wait and see how this turns out. Cars Land...not a big fan of the name (then again, they're re-naming the Disney-MGM Studios Disney's Hollywood Studios). It'll be nice that the Radiator Springs Races will add another E-ticket attraction to the park. I feel bad for parking, but I love the movie, so I can't wait for this! The Wonderful World of Colors will finally bring some nighttime entertainment to the park. But now, do we go and see this show...or go to Disneyland and watch the fireworks or Fantasmic? Oh, quite a problem here now is it? Toy Story Mania...I liked the movie, but for some reason, I'm not really too excited about this ride. The 3D stuff sounds cool and all, but...I guess I'll have to wait and see for this one. I hate this ride simply because construction is keeping California Screamin closed until 1 p.m.! So...I better enjoy less-crowded DCA for now. Once the changes are made, it'll be packed and my short lines will now grow to massive proportions. But after this is done, business will pick up! ---space "don't destroy my favorite (censored for good reasons) park" mtfan
  14. I never had the chance to visit Disneyland when it was raining, but I bet it would be so cool! The park would be virtually empty with only a few cast members. No or little lines at any of the rides! I bet that would be so cool! So...my question is...have you ever visited Disneyland on a rainy day?

  16. Ever wished you could ride the old Space Mountain at Disneyland? Well until Disneyland decides to do a retro day for the ride (which is never), there's a nice video of the old Space Mountain before its 3-year refurbishment. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdQVpcYcm64 PROBLEMS WITH THE VIDEO: -Back then, Space Mountain had speakers, but there were crap and they almost never worked. Sadly, this guy got bad speakers. So, there's no music. -Despite what Robb keeps saying, the ride was somewhat rough. The camera tends to jiggle during the ride. -The vide was shot in nightvision.
  17. This taken from hkdlsource.com: I don't get it. How come Disneyland doesn't get these cool overlays like Tokyo or Hong Kong. I would love to have a Space Mountain-Ghost Galaxy. All we get is year-long overlays and overlays on rides that weren't even cool (Golden Dreams at DCA). Still, I wonder how the Space Mountain-Ghost Galaxy would turn out. I hope it's not like Rockin' Space Mountain (even though I loved it).
  18. I don't think I want a new show for the Hyperio Theater. The Aladdin Show is very well-done and the Genie is very funny!
  19. I just heard the news that the Disney people are planning to spend $1 Billion dollars on a complete makeover of Disney's California Adventure. While I think there's nothing wrong with DCA now, I'm interested to see how this will turn out. A few things I want to see: -The dead plants to be replaced around California Screamin. -More plants and stuff around Tower of Terror. Randomize the drops on the ride. -A nice lobby for the Hyperio Theater. -A cleaner film for Soarin'. -Better rides for Flik's Fun Fair. -Carsland That's pretty much all I can think about. What about you guys?
  20. I saw a commercial for Universal Studios Hollywood saying that the Mummy Coaster is getting more extreme. Anyone have any idea what it means?
  21. Continued from above... So long, Knott's. Next time...I'll ride Sierra Sidewinder! The straglers finally coming to the bus. Just because the park closed early on us...doesn't mean we can't have fun. Since the parking lot was empty, and we were waiting for everyone else...we played handball. A dusk shot of Knott's A picture of us in front of Snoopy... A dusk shot of the second picture in this report. Playgirl models in the making... A sunshot of a model in making. Of course, something had to be up her butt. LOL! Group shot of us near the fountain... Shot of Silver Bullet's cobra roll coming from behind... Don't ask... Hmmmm...that train looks very familiar. Are we at Disneyland? A shot of us at the Calico Mine Train station... A Boomerang shot. I DO NOT like the purple w/ puke green color scheme, but it did make the ride look newer. Supreme Scream An Xcelerator shot for you people Just chilling... Lunch at the Burger Stand between Boomerang and Xcelerator. Those prices are outrageous!! I finally found Edgar and the rest on Silver Bullet. A shot of the former Reflections Lake. I remembered that they used to have a laser show here. Now Silver Bullet has killed it...and the train that went around it! A part of the brake run... Silver Bullet's lift hill... One of the remaining old rides of Knott's. Surprised that this thing hasn't been taken down yet. A coaster train peeking from behind the wood. It got lonely as mechanics tried to fix it. As soon as I heard brake hiss, I got in line in an instant! Overall: The ride was fun. My first wooden roller coaster and it had to be the kick-ass GhostRider. A random shot of GhostRider's wooden structure. Most of the GhostRider pictues looked like this for the next 30 minutes! A shot of GhostRider...still having "techinical difficulties." Because Disney didn't want to get a bad rep for the deaths they caused...they send of skulls of their victims to the Jaguar queue. LOL Shot of Jaguar queue line... When I got lost from Edgar, this was my temporary group: (from left to right) Carlos, Loran, and Erica. Carlos was kicked off of the ride for his immense size.
  22. On May 25, 2007, the AVID Class of 2009 at Cajon High School took a trip to Knott's Berry Farm. This is my first Photo Report, so please bare with me on captions. WARNING: A few PG-13 Rated jokes and pictures. We arrived at Knott's at around 1:15 p.m. We waited outside while the teachers got the tickets, which took them a long freakin' time. Damn Knott's service! The first ride I went on...or tried to go on was Silver Bullet. I sadly chickened out . RIDE LIST: -Montezooma's Revenge (it was okay. Hate going backwards.) -La Revoucion (kind of thrilling) -Jaguar (a fun ride) -After Jaguar, my group ditched me! I decided to roam the park alone. -Checked to see if GhostRider was open. Sadly, it was still broken. -After 10 minutes, they finally got GhostRider to work. I got on with no wait. Best wooden coaster I've been on. -Rejoined my group at Silver Bullet exit. We headed to Xcelerator, which had an extremely long line. Didn't ride it that day. -Group split up. half rode Boomerang and the others got lunch. -Last ride of the day: Calico Mine Train Now, here's the part where the school completey screwed up. We were promised to stay until 7:30. The school got the times wrong and the park closed at 6:00! We were all mad as hell! But at least we had a party at T.G.I. Friday's and in the barren parking lot. Shot of Jaguar train at the top of first hill A shot of Montezooma's backward spike. Random shot of chandelier in Montezooma. Dispatch person for Montezooma's Revenge. A view of Huff n Puff for the kids. Shot taken from Montezooma's Revenge queue line. Before I chickened out of GhostRider, I got a nice shot of the Calico Railroad Train. A part of the Silver Bullet queue line. A somewhat bad shot of the whole coaster. I tried my best to get the whole thing. A shot of the inside station... And now...some Sierra Sidewinder pictures. Unfortunately, it wasn't open when we went. This is a bunch of people they picked up from Home Depot working on the station. My homie, Edgar! He's just chilling while they get our tickets...which took them 30 minutes! This is more of the AVID class. Ignore the kid's arm, he messed up my shot. It tooks us a while, but we finally reach Knott's. A Photo of Silver Bullet over the entrance to the park. The AVID class of '09 on the bus...
  23. Disney family's fury at 'evil' Mickey Look-alike TV character teaches kids to fight for Islam's world domination Brisbane Times - Australia The only surviving child of Walt Disney is calling Hamas "pure evil" for making a mockery of Mickey Mouse by turning the lovable icon into a propaganda tool for hate. Diane Disney Miller said she's disgusted that a ripoff of her father's star cartoon character is being used on a new Hamas TV show to encourage Palestinian children to take up arms against Israel and America. "Of course I feel personal about Mickey Mouse, but it could be Barney as well," Miller, 73, told the New York Daily News today in a phone interview. She was more horrified the terror group was using the knockoff Mickey to preach Islamic radicalism to kids throughout the Gaza Strip. "It's not just Mickey, it's indoctrinating children like this, teaching them to be evil," said Miller, a Northern California winery owner. "The world loves children and this is just going against the grain of humanity." The Daily News revealed this week that Hamas' Al-Aqsa TV station began running the new children's series in April. Called "Tomorrow's Pioneers", it features the life-size clone of Mickey Mouse named "Farfur". Farfur speaks in a squeaky voice and wears a tuxedo with tails and a red bow tie. He tells youngsters to drink their milk and pray, but also sings about kids arming themselves with AK-47s and striving for world domination "under Islamic leadership". While the Disney Co her father founded had no comment, Miller praised the New York Daily News for informing the public about the perverse program. "What we're dealing with here is pure evil and you can't ignore that," Miller said. "I'm awful glad you're doing something about it, writing about this and keeping it in the public eye as much as it can be." x5 x5
  24. On April 27, 2007, Rockin' Space Mountain at Disneyland finally ended. However, Tokyo Disneyland revealed a brand-new Space Mountain. The ride has been closed for about 5 months for needed maintence and rehab. The ride now features newly-painted rockets (but no soundtrack), new effects in the mountain, lift hills have been upgraded, air gates added, the queue line has been rethemed, and the mountain seems darker (hard to tell). A POV video has been uploaded on www.youtube.com: There are a few pictures and videos on this website (be careful, it's in Japanese): www.toms-net.com/DeepDisney/ (Pick the second link from below up)
