Theme Park Review's 2009 Trips Announced!
spacemtfan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have a quick question. If I go on the Texas trip, how many pounds am I expected to gain? -
Theme Park Review's 2009 Trips Announced!
spacemtfan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey Robb, I would love to go on the Texas trip. It seems like the cheapest, though if I am able to get more 'moolah', I'll probably go on the West Coast Trip. I need to find some stuff to sell on eBay. I want to go! ---space 'Yee-haw! I'm going to Texas!' mtfan! -
The Dark Knight better than El Toro or Kingka Ka. Wow, they were way off! Well, that explains why so many people hate the Dark Knight coaster. Did they really need to remove so many rides for this ride? Sorry, but I have never been to SFGAdv, so I don't really know the whole layout. EDIT: I'm not sure if this video has been posted already, but it features a few shots of the ride and the guest reactions at the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZrLS37AAuI Notice how dull and fake the guest reactions are?

Whoa. It looks pretty cool! A B&M 4-D coaster sounds like it would be better than X2, but I can't say that for sure just yet. Now if only they would get around to building inverted roller coasters with sound systems in it.

There are a few gamers getting together to try and sue Mircosoft for this occasional problem. I'm playing Twisted Metal Black right now. I'm not sure how far I am. Has anyone played Spider-Man: Web of Shadows yet? It looks cool, but I want to see if it's a good game.

Theme Park Review POSTING RULES!
spacemtfan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just want to add something and say to some of the new TPR members to seriously read the rules before your post something. So far, I have already broken rules #2 and #8 (especially #2) and now I'm in hot water with some of the TPR moderators (mainly Wes). Now I have reread the rules several times so that I may be a better poster. I want to make sure that I never make mistakes again. And I encourage all new TPR members to do the same. Please read the rules carefully! That is all. Thank you! -
--Robb "Domokun's chasing kittens is SERIOUS BUSINESS!!!" Alvey I'm so sorry Robb for wasting your time. I promise not to do it again. Whoa...that was pretty close. It's kind of funny that I went to a bad middle school in San Bernardino and nothing like this ever happened. The only thing we had to worry about were fireworks going off and the office catching on fire.
-
Sorry Wes, but I hate it when someone makes funny comments when this thread is about something tragic.
-
^ Thank you! Finally, someone posts a SERIOUS comment and not a dumb post like the other three.

^Apparently, he was. As far as I know, he's the most critical of the admins. Maybe this is 5 months early, but then again...the two Columbine shooters planned their attack about a year early. This entered my mind because there was a "Rachel's Challenge" assembly at my school a few days ago. I just wanted to get everybody's opinion on the matter.

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this yet. Hard to believe that this kid is popular for stuff like this: -"Stop breaking the law...@$$hole!" ---LOL!

NOTE TO OTHER ADMIN'S: The old thread got deleted, but Wes has allowed me to start this new thread. April 20, 1999...two high school seniors come to Columbine High School and shoot the place up. 12 students and 1 teacher were killed during the mishap. The two shooters in question killed themselves in the library, where most of their murders took place. April 20, 2009 will be marked as the tenth anniversary of this tragic event. Even though Columbine is no longer the worst school massacre in history (that now belongs to the Viriginia Tech Masscare), it is still considered a horrific event. And although many people will mourn the loss of their loved ones, somewhere, some wacko is going to try and 'top' this. I was in the third grade when they shooting occured. Of course, being that young, I had no idea what just happened. I always wondered why the next few days after that, they had LOCK DOWN drills. When I finally found out...I didn't know what to think. To think that two kids would go so far as to kill innocent people makes me a bit paranoid of the kids around my school. How did Columbine affect you?

I'm glad that music is now from "being an optional cool feature" to "you have to have it on every coaster". Really, music really enhances a ride. I mean, what would Rock 'n' Roller Coaster be without any rock music? Music adds to the overall experience of a roller coaster. For me in my earlier coaster days, music is what got me on Space Mountain and California Screamin'. I would listen to the audio from YouTube or from one of the Disneyland CDs. The fast-paced music would pump me up and then the coaster becomes a favorite to me. 2009 is going to be a great year for roller coaster everywhere. First, Terminator is coming to Six Flags Magic Mountain. It will be a GCI wooden roller coaster replacing Psyclone. The ride will be smooth and it will have a sound system. This already sounds 10x better than Psyclone. Then, Superman: Ride of Steel at SFNE will be getting a revamp and a new coat of paint. It will also have a sound system and FIRE! And now, Medusa is getting a makeover with audio. That pretty much means that almost every kind of roller coaster is now being fitted with a sound system. Now...if only we can get a B&M inverted coaster to have onboard audio... ---space "roller coaster music is cool" mtfan

Speed: The Ride in Las Vegas .... Closed?
spacemtfan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wes, I don't think Laughlin is all that bad. My family goes there on weekends and we have a blast (then again, we have a boat for the river). Oh no, not another coaster! If this is gone, then we'll only have two coasters left, Canyon Blaster at the AdventureDome and...that Togo death matchine at the New York, New York. -
Theme Park Review's 2008 Asia Tour!
spacemtfan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wait, Disney does ERT? I never knew that Disney offered ERT on their rides. ERT on Space Mountain sounds like a dream come true to me! Hong Kong Disneyland looks so cool! "Death Race on Autopia" LOL XD! -
Here is my official list of TV shows that I miss: Tiny Toon Adventures Animaniacs Pinky and the Brian Freakazoid TaleSpin Darkwing Duck Goof Troop (probably the best out of 90's) Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers Bonkers! Disney's Aladdin: The Series 4Kids-dubbed Pokemon episodes Dexter's Lab Johnny Bravo Doug (both Disney and Nick versions) Rugrats (the one when they were babies) Ah! Real Monsters! Rocko's Modern Life Angry Beavers Spider-Man (the one on Fox Kids) Bobby's World Dilbert Early "The Simpsons" From the 2000's:Fairly OddParents Invader Zim (don't know why it was cancelled) Life as a Teenage Robot Danny Phantom (probably the best out of all of them) Avatar: The Lost Airbender Samauri Jackfirst season of Ben 10 (not the Alien Force crap) Some episodes of What's New Scooby-Doo Sonic X (it's okay, at least the theme song is catchy) Yu-Gi-Oh (even if it was dubbed by 4Kids) Teen Titans Kim Possible Futurama (I feel like that one teenager from an episode of the Simpsons..."Why did they cancel Futurama?") Family Guy Wow...that was a long list...

^ ^ To me, anime is what's keeping me to Cartoon Network. I mean Naruto, BLEACH, Death Note, Shin Chan, Pokemon, and InuYasha are way better than anything else on there.
-
Well, okay yes. Maybe I am too young to be a grumpy man, but that's the feeling I get when I ask someone about an old cartoon and it turns out they have no idea what I'm talking about. That...and I absoutely hate MTV (it brainwashed my sister and brother). You know, looking back at Rocko's Modern Life, I actually noticed a few dirty things aobut it (like Shunky and the mop). *here comes another rant... Okay, I found another video that shows 2000's cartoons. Some of the early 2000 stuff it okay, shows like: Fairly OddParents Invader Zim (don't know why it was cancelled) Life as a Teenage Robot Danny Phantom (probably the best out of all of them) Avatar: The Lost Airbender Samauri Jackfirst season of Ben 10 (not the Alien Force crap) Some episodes of What's New Scooby-Doo Sonic X (it's okay, at least the theme song is catchy) Yu-Gi-Oh (even if it was dubbed by 4Kids) Teen Titans Kim Possible Futurama (I feel like that one teenager from an episode of the Simpsons..."Why did they cancel Futurama?") Everything else pretty much is bad...also, these cartoons in bold are now cancelled or they no longer have new episodes). Oh well...I moved away from cartoons and now I am totally into anime, the only reason why I go to Cartoon Network!
-
Ah Wes, well I respect it if people from 80's and 70's like that stuff, but I'm a 90's person (and are you happy that I searched the threads this time?). You know what was cool too, the cartoons Steven Speilberg made: Freakazoid, Animaniacs, and Pinky and the Brian. Those were some genius cartoons. The first two were very random, but I liked them. Unfortunately, stuff that was cool in the 90's aren't cool now and that just makes me cry when I go to school and mention an old cartoon and I find out that people don't even know what it is (damn current MTV). This video is 30 minutes worth of nostalgia: EDIT: Link removed. Video was deleted.
-
NOTE: I actually searched the whole thread and nothing popped up. So if this was a copy of another thread, then I wouldn't know because it didn't show up in the search. Anyway, this is for you 90's people out there... (WARNING: Ranting ahead) Ah the 90's...back when Crash Bandicoot and Spyro had good games, back to when Horizons at EPCOT was still open, back to when rap music was actually...you know...good, back to when MTV wasn't a sister to BET. I can just imagine having a hard time choosing between Goof Toop on Disney Channel, Rugrats on Nicklodean, or Dexter's Lab on Cartoon Network. On MTV, they had some actual music and funny stuff like Beavis and Butt-head and Jack@$$. Now enter the year 2000...Horizons is gone, Crash and Spyro games are now crap (to me), MTV is nothing but dumb reality shows, and we have dumb, unimaginative cartoons/shows like Chowder, Flapjack, Gym Partner's a Monkey, and iCarly (all of which totally suck). I miss the 90's. A lot of the shows that I grew up with are now brutually murdered, and for what...to stay hip with today's kids? Back in the days, I had to constantly flip between those three channels. Now, I hardly ever watch TV anymore. (Okay, ranting is done!) So, what are some of your favorite TV shows form the 90's that are gone now?
