Alvey's in Organizational Video about Disney
LcHg5265 replied to LcHg5265's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This was done professionally by McGraw-Hill Irwin for my Organizational Behavior book, Eigth Edition. As far as I could tell, all of the footage was from Hong Kong Disneyland. I was completely caught off guard! -
Alvey's in Organizational Video about Disney

It was on the course DVD in the professors edition of the book. -
I was in my Organizational Behavior class today and we were discussing organizational cultures. We started watching a video discussing the challenges disney faced in bringing a park to Hong Kong. Out of no where i see Elissa alvey running across the screen, and this was a theme that continued. Scenes included, Rob chasing Elissa around with a box of popcorn, Elissa hugging Chip & Dale, Rob's face with yellow 3-d glasses on, Elissa using a laptop, and Rob talking to a...talking trash can. (Got a laugh from the class) Not sure if you guys knew about this, but it was quite exciting. Putting Disney, a class, and the Alveys all together in one video was clearly the most amazing thing ever.

There was mist from 1999 to the end of the 2006 season. It was shut off from the damage it was causing to the walls, track, and floor. They are also adding some cool lighting effects to certain areas of the ride! -

It will be cool just watching the cars move along since they are trackless! They also enclosed the uneventful "mist / balcony" section and are adding some effects in that area as well. -

The water park development has been backed up fully by Parques Reunidos. In fact, they are heading into the water park expansion quicker than pre-PR estimates. -

Maybe they took out the trick track and added some type of large banking to one side? Maybe it will be 90 Degrees...haha -

Lake Compounce sent out a newsletter today to its "Lake Lovers" While there will be no new attraction in 2008, the park is set to make a large number of improvements. The most interesting is the new "twist" to the track on Boulder Dash. Check out the link for the officail newsletter http://www.ez-llc.com/eznewsletter/archive/44_358.asp? -

Height requirments for flat rides
LcHg5265 replied to bspellx5's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just want to point out that Huss changed their minnimun height requirement for their enterprise for the 2006 season. It changed from 48 to 54 inches. I work at Lake Compounce, and telling the kids that they were not tall enough, when they were the year before, was very difficult to deal with. I am not sure why Huss changed the height requirement. I find it interesting that the Centennial Screamer at Lagoon, which is a Huss Enterprise, has had an "Under 46" May Not Ride" Height Restriction since it was Installed in 1987. Then they are not compiling with Huss regulations. -

A magnetic trim is expected to be added to make the ride run at the speed it was designed to run at, which is 60 mph. -

I disagree, it is part of the park and will continue to be. The park itself does not lose a large amount of money from offering free softdrinks. It was done under the same philosophy that HW has stated in the past. -

Here is an article in the Connecticut papers that may comfort some of the uneasy. This one focuses more on Lake Compounce, but i am sure the same applies to Kennywood as well as the other aqusitions. http://www.courant.com/news/local/hc-ctbricompounce1212.artdec12,0,5300659.story -

What worries me most would be a rapid expansion. Parks like Story Land, Idlewild, and Lake Compounce would be ruined if they had large amounts of money pushed in to them quickly. The way Kennywood Entertainment handled the rebuilding of Lake Compounce was excellent because they moved at a slow an steady pace. (after 1997) -
