^&^^Yeah, obviously that isn't true. These are very modest ticket price increases and Disney is still running a lot of sales on vacation packages due to the soft economy. It's a very good strategy when you think about it: Get the base rates as high as possible for those willing to pay the premium for peak times. Then discount the hell out of the non-peak times to bring in more revenue.

Elissa's Thoughts on the UK and Europe Trips!

After about 3 L of beer, I didn't even dare get off the bus at the bathroom stop. I was afraid I'd pass out somewhere and get left behind. -
New shuttle coaster for Conny Land for 2007
ginzo replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wonder if you're going to be the only one on here to get the credit. If they can't make a simple shuttle loop work after three years, odds are not good for this thing long term. Nice job in getting this very hard-to-get credit. -

^I think we're just like Cartman calling the Harry Potter kids "fags" in that amazing LOTR episode of South Park. -

I liked Blue Fire a lot, thought it was a great addition and even the best coaster at Europa. But, "best coaster in Germany" as in better than EGF. That's crazy talk. Very crazy talk. -

I agree. Two open-to-close days at Europa would be great. -
My first visit to Great Adventure was in 1995. I remember waiting a similar amount of time for GASM, about 3 hours. My last trip to the park was in 2007 and, like Chuck, we found that the Q-bot line was longer than the standby line. And this was on a Saturday in July! I think most reasonable people can agree that you can't continue to maintain a giant coaster like that unless it's popular. Otherwise, it's better to save the expense and put the money towards future installations.

You're right. The food isn't that great in those places, but there is no equivalent in most of the US. You either get some nasty truck stop (over-sized petrol station) or a "rest area", which is basically just a place to picnic and use the bathroom. Rest areas typically do not sell any food beyond vending machines. From a trip organizer's point of view, I can see why she's happy with a clean food court type place that gives people several dining options as well as a decent newsstand/gift shop to pick up a few things at. I wonder if the prevalence of sightseeing buses with strict driving time regulations may have lead to the construction of nicer service stations in Europe. -

This was my exact thought coming off the ride: That those restraints are so good all other coaster companies should be embarrassed. I really hope to see more rides like that soon. -

I think HRP was the bigger fail because they spent $400 million on a park that wasn't even solvent as a $25 million park. -
Underneath, My New Progressive House Track! (Page 2)
ginzo replied to Calaway Park's topic in Random, Random, Random
This is the classic complaint about progressive house that has been going around for as long as it has been around. I've seen some of the big name DJs, like Sasha and Digweed, and you could say the same about them as well. They never really moved the dance floor like a regular house DJ like Derrick Carter would. Then again, I haven't really payed attention to music for about 10 years or so. -

A certain UK trip participant complained to me about this very thing. That they were used to luxury trips where you never have to touch a bag and you stay in the finest hotels and eat gourmet food. LOL! Didn't they notice that the luxury tour was twice as expensive? -

Lakemont and Delgrosso Tips?
ginzo replied to Capitalize's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree. Idlewild is surprisingly nice and probably deserves a bit more time than Lakemont or DelGrosso's. Half a day there seems like reasonable amount of time to spend there. -
Transporting and putting the coaster back up elsewhere isn't cheap. Especially for a relatively large coaster like this. I remember Shane posting in his thread that roughly half the cost of a B&M is in the construction. Maybe it's even worse for a coaster like this considering how many footers they'd have to pour due to the inefficient old structure. It might be a different story if this were a more desirable coaster like a B&M. But it's a crappy old Arrow ride that's basically at the end of its service life.

Why do they even bother having courts if they're going to accept crap like this as evidence? They might as well just call the Psychic Friends Network.
