I hope you don't miss Avalanche @ Timber Falls. That's easily the best thing going in the Dells. -
Kingda Ka Closed for Maintenance
ginzo replied to PKI Jizzman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
oMgZ!!! CP is better than GADv because TTD is open and Kindga Ka isn't!!! Yeah, it's not like TTD doesn't still break down 25 times per day. I have yet to queue up for TTD without at least one breakdown. -
Disney World Raises Prices...Again
ginzo replied to Airtime&Gravity's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That's probably true. I think Universal is going to force Disney to do some drastic upgrades, as this Harry Potter thing is going to be MASSIVE. And Disney doesn't really have anything of that magnitude with which to respond in kind. -

No big loss. As long as El Toro and Nitro are running, who cares about Ka? -
Disney World Raises Prices...Again

You're right that Universal quality is right up there with Disney. But you're not comparing apples to apples. Whenever I've looked at staying on property at Universal it's pretty much every bit as expensive as Disney. Their resorts ain't cheap. I can stay at Motel6 in Kissimmee and get a Disney vacation closer to your price. Actually, I plan to hit both Universal AND Disney in January. -
Disney World Raises Prices...Again

Quality comes from the fact that Disney invests far more into their parks than CF does, because they have far more cash. Are you going to see a $100+ million attraction at CP anytime soon? Nope. CP has just a handful of hotels, none of them anywhere near the league of a Disney deluxe resort. Heck, you can't even get a great meal at CP. TGI Friday's doesn't count. Yes, you're absolutely right that you can get more rides in for the same money elsewhere. But when it comes to a total vacation destination, I'd rather go to WDW than any of the other US parks I've been to. -

Yeah, I don't think that Cedar Fair sells anywhere near as high quality of a product as Disney World does. There's a reason that the top 8 parks last year for attendance in the world were all Disney parks. I don't really see what the big deal is. If you think it's too expensive, don't go. Disney surely has no shortage of people wanting to go. I'm planning a WDW trip for January, and the cost is going to be about $1,200 per person for 5 days staying at a deluxe resort, and including airfare, tickets, car rental, and all meals. Price out how much 5 days in Maui would cost you. Can you even fly to Maui for $1,200? -
Massive TR from Liseberg 2007

Hey, this is great. I greatly appreciate the extensive details in this report. -
Uhhh, don't forget that three people were shot outside the park last year by the bus area. Not their fault, but not great news either. I strongly agree though that SFoG is one of the best parks in the chain.

Yeah, they really need to put out the 2008 prices already. I'm planning a WDW trip for January, and can't book anything until Disney bothers to put out the new pricing. -

I'm glad that your trip is going so well guys. It's nice Kentucky Kingdom gave you access to more than half of their coasters for your ERT. And people say that Six Flags is weak on customer service. How was Thunder Run? That one really let me down, as I had heard how awesome it was supposed to be, but I found it to be a bit rough. Is it running well this year (fingers crossed)? I'm looking forward to the Beech Bend pics. Rumbler is easily the best coaster in Kentucky. Nothing else comes even close. -

It must be all those blows to the head that makes a person prefer Kings Island over Holiday World. Not that HW is the greatest park ever, but KI doesn't even have ONE good coaster. Tiny little Raven whomps all the coasters at KI. -

Dude, you can't steal that baby Jesus. It's all part of one large piece of concrete. You'd have to steal Mary along with baby Jesus, and I don't think you've been working out quite that much. -

I felt that the trims definitely neutered one spot that used to have solid airtime. Yeah, the train does eventually pick back up to full steam. But I only got one ride in today. Stupid thing kept breaking. -

Dude, you are a machine! I saw your buses leave HW's lot at 10:30 EST, and you have an update up 2 hours later! Whiny update bitches suck on that. -

Although I give B&M the edge in the flying coaster department, I don't think you're going to get a mass following who actually thinks the restraints are comfortable. Hanging there like a piece of meat waiting for them to send out the next train so you can get off on a B&M flyer is NEVER a fun experience. Even climbing the lift can be awkward. -
Bah, those are perfectly safe. The real question is would you cross this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0Fi1VcbpAI

$1? Come on now. This is a serious project. I've got $10 billion in cash lined up here.

Hey stop trying to rip that guy off! Everbody knows that some self-righteous, anti-government Jedis will blow up your Death Star before you even finish construction.

Let's see here. Cleveland has the following parks all within a few hours of driving: Cedar Point Geauga Lake Kennywood Kings Island Waldameer Darien Lake Yep, they sound underserved to me.

Hahahahaha. I pledge $10 billion for this noble cause.
