  1. I love it when some one posts these great trip reports of places I've never heard of. It's what makes TPR such a great place. Thanks for sharing!
  2. I recently got a new camera from a "real" camera shop, not a retail chain. So the advice I got from the sales rep was quite suprising. I didn't go HiDef, but I did go HardDrive. (That alone is a huge difference.) Here's what I know from your questions with a mix of advice I got from the cam store, and the experience I have in editing media... 1)The new PowerDirector (what I use) supports AVCHD. Without editing software that supports this directly, don't bother with it. It's really is as simple as copying files from your cam's hard drive to your PC hard drive, then working with it from there. It's pretty seemless, and much faster than DV tape. Using an external conversion process would be a step backward, and VERY time consuming! 3)There is no quality difference in my opinion. I'd still go with a Hard Drive cam though, much more convenient, and no media to lose track of. 4) Cyberlink PowerDirector 5) PC HDMI connection, which in my opinion is TERRIBLE, or burn to Blueray. Hope this helps a little.
  3. Fascinating! Amazing how far back rides actually go! This is the coolest.
  4. So many opinions, so little bandwidth, how can I express....
  5. Every Labor Day, Memorial Day, and Forth of July during my teens at Kennywood. Spent a few Birthdays at Adventuredome, Stratosphere, Buffalo Bills. Once at Magic Mountain. Visited MGM Grand Adventures during Thanksgiving once, as well as Islands of Adventure.
  6. You're photos are absolutely stunning!!!
  7. Nice pictures. All I could think of is in the 80's, Kennywood had a very similar ride line up. (Laser Loop, Swing Around, Wave Swinger, Pirate, etc...)
  8. Back in the days of sea-side parks, many of them had circle swings in the water. They were people powered, you hung on to them like a trapeze.
  9. Don't they have a game show in a cab? Just as thrilling if you ask me.
  10. Wow! Totally impressed with this ride, and the pictures!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
  11. My favorite part of the video is then Robb's car turns backwards while the ride starts, and the expression of the locals in the station is priceless. You don't know if they're in amazement over the American with a camera, or because the seat turned, or both. It's like they were entertained so easily. LOL
  12. That was a rollercoaster?!?!? Looked like just a really fast dark ride to me. Obviously you can't see much in the video, but are there any "hills" on this ride? Very strange and unique looking. Or as the kids say, "NEATO!"
  13. 1.) Would you trust anything built by Jamaicans? (Toke-cough-cough-whoooo! Looks like it's workin' for me mon!) 2.) They gay peeps here might wanna read this before heading to Jamaica: http://www.state.gov/g/drl/rls/hrrpt/2008/wha/119165.htm
  14. Funny that nobody mentioned the Swap Shop here in Fort Lauderdale. It's a swap shop, multi-screen drive in, and Uncle Bernies Amusement park!
  15. I am definately going to Orlando this year! WOOHOO!
  16. I would think that a suspension system would be a maintainance nightmare on a coaster. In trying to think like an engineer would, "less moving parts = less things to worry about". Building a good coaster from the ground up wouldn't need a suspension system, but replacing trains on exsisting rough coasters could be a good idea. And rather using a suspension system on wheel chasis, use them to suspend seats/cabins from the train.
  17. I finally made it to facebook too! So much better than MySpace, and much more addicting. Just joined the TPR group!
  18. Wow! Happy Birthday KT!!!! May you have the most awesomist day, EVAR! Until next year!
  19. I cannot stop laughing at this. I just keep thinking Dollywood! If there were a TPR Hall Of Fame gallery, this would be in it! LMAO!
  20. I just find it extremely amazing that China is grapsing this part of Western culture, and doing it quite well. I cannot wait what the end result of this park looks like, and how well it holds up, even after just one season, just to see if they really did thier homework. Awesome update!!!!!!
  21. LMAO!!! Friggin classic!
  22. ^ I agree, the South Park is good. So far, that's my favorite.
