  1. Here is what I'd like to see. You guy can also endorse an idea that you like as well. REMEMBER: You can move stuff around, scrap it, whatever. The park has a new sponsor that's supporting a lot of this. It can't be to grand, but a fair amount. Please add no more than 5 new things (not including path extensions or shade areas) - these include shops, rides, buildings, etc. Don't be afraid to show what you'd like to see in it's future as well! New Parking lot, guest relations building, spiral-lift coaster, path extensions, new shops, and dark ride. Future plans for a small out-n-back woodie with a lake.
  2. UPDATE! Construction on the two drop towers has continued along at the fairgrounds. With the new name....Red & Bleu Diamonds! This ride has GOT to bring in a big attendance - much bigger than Vortex could probably bring in too! The final stages of construction are being worked on. This update, I noticed that a lot has been done; finished painting, queue lines are up, control room is up, and some foliage has been added around the area! The Diamonds should be opening soon.... In other news, Elitch Gardens is currently in the process of being packaged up and stored. However, the parks manager - and good friend - has offered to give the fairgrounds some rides free of charge (except shipping/installing)! This is great news! Could the fairgrounds finally be receiving an actual roller coaster?! Exciting news to ponder.... Also, the parks process with the new bus stop at the fairgrounds is complete! This will offer guests to come in from all of the surrounding areas. What I heard is that after RTD (bus systems here) came to look at the conditions of the road, they offered to put in a small amount of roads for the buses! Since the land outside the park is still owned by the City of Denver, none the money came from the parks pockets. The extra foliage from the renovation has been spread throughout the park. Even with the new bus system and less people driving to the park, the parking lot is still overflowing. A piece of fence has been taken out for a makeshift dirt parking lot... In all, things are looking up for the fairgrounds! A new sponser is on the way, but the fairgrounds haven't released any details yet.... On to the pictures! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alright guys, now here is where you come into play! Help out the fairgrounds decide what to do next! Get our the old MS Paint, or any other photoshop like editors and put down what you want to see happen with this park! Start drawing up your plans! We need to find a home for a new roller coaster! We must keep both the carousel and the kiddie coaster. Anything can move (nothing is permanently situated). With that, edit the image below to show where you want things to go! Remember: -+- Most of the guest complaints were targeted at the poor path placements and the bottlenecking of the food service area. -+- The park has still taken a blow from Vortex. All new rides must be reliable! -+- This isn't quite yet a park - it's still fairgounds. Things have to be able to be relocated... -+- The family base is starting to drop off.... -+- The land to the west of Star Swatter is off limits. The grounds wants to move the park more south, but is not restricted to. Good luck! More soon! EDIT: NOTE!!! ONLY PLANS THAT ARE DRAWN UP WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR BUILD! IF YOU WANT YOUR IDEA IN THE PARK, DRAW THEM!
  3. Yeah, lets stay on the path of doubles or twins or something, haha. If you want, you're all more than welcome to design logos too that could possibly be used in the park! (As long as they aren't too lame.)
  4. I saw this and thought Id share it with you all! Passing by today, I snapped this real quick. Painting seems half way done. It's quite exciting for the fairgrounds to be getting this! This will most likely bring back up the attendance after the Vortex accident. Anyways, now its up to you to... Decide the name!!! More to come....
  5. I found this in the street today... Do you think this means that some of their rides will make it to JCF's? hmmm....
  6. Haha you guys are way to into this! Right now, we are just deciding on the plan on what to do. We not quite to the stages of planning a ride. I'll let you know when we do Update hopefully later today...
  7. NEWS FLASH! An article from The Denver Post: This isn't great news for the park! Many guests captured the frightening moments on camera: A cell phone picture from a rider. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After a short visit today I was able to take a few pictures of Vortex. It was completely boarded up and hidden behind walls. The future of this ride has to be grim... Just doesn't look the same... Also a piece of art work released. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay guys, now it's your turn! JCF needs something to put where Vortex is! PLAN 1: Several rides are still in storage that have yet to be used. Use the two previous over views I provided for a view of the area. The catch is that it MUST be a thrill ride and be within 4 x 4 squares or smaller. If you were paying attention to the article, its proves the park has a strong teen base. The ride must be able to be themed as well. OR PLAN 2: This opens up a small plot of land for guest relations to expand. The butt ugly building that is there could be renovated and expanding giving more room for guest relations and offices. With this, park security would be able to increase. You guys decide! Choose ONE plan! Tell each other why you have chosen your plan and why it would help the park. Good luck!
  8. Well that depends on the decisions you guys make!
  9. Remember guys, this park depends on YOUR decisions! The more replies, the better chances are of this park heading in the right direction! For the first decision, the community has spoken! [/survivor Voice] With more decisions to create shade and expand the concessions, I couldn't disagree in anyway! This new shade has given guests more energy, reduced the sun burns, and increased happiness in the guests! Great job guys! Three of this big tents have been added throughout the grounds. One here by the entrance, one in between the Star Swatter and The Tiger Coaster. The last one is in a corner of the park...an interesting place... Dude! Look at this! Some awnings have gone up in queues, and this has increased ride popularity by quite a bit! Lines have been getting longer, this means more people are buying ride tickets, which means more profit! Here is a look at one of the new tents. Also seen here is a ditch. I have no idea what that plot of land is being used for, but maybe you guys will know...? As if the line for Vortex wasn't long enough! This is quite an expansion for the concessions! A pathway leads down to an open aired area with 3x as many concessions as once before! These two shops kinda got screwed though.... These new stands are all locally owned bakers or aspiring restaurants. Because of that, a certain about of profit is given to the park to pay for all their utilities and a small percent to be in the park. So the park is gaining some money this way! Families LOVE The Tiger Coaster! It's a two train operation, and because of the constant line and great crews, I have NEVER seen the trains stack! That's another thing to consider, the employees here area very good with their jobs and appreciate them! This Kingdom Espana stall has been recently added. It advertises at this stall in the park, like what GreenBlue Resorts do at Six Flags parks. The park is also making a profit from them as well. It's also interesting that the park put a new tent all the way on the far side of the park! I wonder if they will be expanding their paths this way soon? So you have your bearing straight. Expect to hear some more soon!
  10. Some interesting points so far! Tomorrow we will see what the park has decided to do. Keep the suggestions coming!
  11. The Jefferson Country Fair Grounds Welcome to ThemeParkReview.com's first ever community park! In order for this park to survive and strive, it will require the community to read and follow along with the progress. So this requires YOU! So one last time: WARNING - THIS PROJECT REQUIRES MEMBERS TO READ IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU MAY BE PROPOSING OR VOTING ON Now onto the story... For years on end, the state of Colorado has been hosting the Jefferson County Fair. But until recent events, the fair has been shut down and the rides auctioned off. The events that once happened in Golden, Colorado are now dead...but the community could not let that happen. The people of Jefferson County pulled together to solve the situation of the fair. Realizing what a catastrophe it would be having their children grow up with out experiencing the wonders of the fair the community decided to put their money together and keep the legend going. Only a couple rides were to be bought. A small plot of land off of I-25 and E-470 has been owned for years and years by a rich business man from Aspen. Rumors have been circulating that the now Elitch Gardens would be relocated there, or other amusement industries would build on the land have not yet come true. When this guy heard about the fair, the land was given to the community. About 10 minutes north of Denver, you will find this... A small dirt parking lot is located just east of Huron Street. Not many people here... A small ticket booth is set up here, made out of gazebos from locals... This is guest relations, first aid, information, and offices. The building was built by a graduate student from CU Boulder. She wasn't the greatest architect in the world... Vortex is a ride that was saved. The reliability is extremely low, it has multiple break downs in a day. Look at that line! The biggest attraction at the old Jefferson County, Star Swatter, was saved as well. It is now the most popular with guests here! I snapped this real quick at the top of Star Swatter. As you can see, the fairgrounds have shrunk. The park is in dire need of attention... Another popular ride for families is The Tiger Coaster! Using old pieces from the JCF's small kiddy coaster and parts from Elitch Garden's old mine ride. The trains were donated by students from Colorado State University. Less than 400 people visit the park on weekdays, but it can still get crowded. Waaaay down at the end of the path is the make shift entrance from tarps and tents from local companies. When making decisions for the park, keep these in mind: - Financially, the park is unsound. Some dept is still built up... - Demographics are heavily focused on families and teenagers. - Only one food/drink stand is being used. - Two restrooms are available. - About 100 more acres are available to the park. - The summers can get hot here, and extremely cold in the fall! - These rides that were purchased are not the greatest rides. They are safe enough to ride, but they don't have much life left in them. - A near by interstate could bring in lots of business! So for your first challenge: The fairgrounds have been plagued by a recent drought. The grass is dying, and the park is using more and more water each day to keep the park as pretty as it is. Guests are thirsty, hot, and want a relief from it all! So what should the park do from here? Here are the options... -+- Build a small water ride. Like bumper boats. -+- Increase the shade through out the park as well as expand the concessions. Nothing major. -+- Have the park remove vegetation and receive a $1000 grant from the state of Colorado. This could be used to pay off debt only to have a strong base. Best of luck on your decision! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Inspiration from: http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=588921
  12. OOOOooo the fun possibilities with this one.... Lets see what's out there: - Weed on Speed - Roy (Cora) on Troy - Razor on Laser - Sex on X - Bakin' on Kraken Yup. Priests on Beast.
  13. Eh, sorry I guess. But I thought people knew the motherboard on my computer melted. SO that meant a complete lose of everything. Including RCT3 and all files. SWH is long dead. I was hoping I posted a download, so I could restart this park - I didn't. I may start doing some RCT3 stuff again. NoLimits has really gotten my attention right now. Much more realistic. Who knows. Sorry.
  14. I swore I have seen this same template before...
  15. Awesome! That was really fun. I enjoy those quick shifts in directions, kind of what Maverick has. Did you use any tools to smooth it out?
  16. Im supporting Obama. After his acceptance speech, I hope he can live up to what he has said. He has quite a full plate. Also with the acceptance speech, did it seem to anyone else like he was already putting himself up for reelection? lol
  17. One word: Amazing. Awesome job with this Ravine Flyer and Voyage-esq ride!
  18. The layout got quite boring after awhile. If you're going for realistic as possible, you have to remember, Maverick and Storm Runner are not boring rides! Transitions are quite and almost unpredictable - i.e. Mantis, Maverick. There are no long straight sections besides an initial launch and drop. So Im sure you can add quite a bit more or change the layout for a more exciting finish.
  19. Oh boys and their penis'. You'll love Fort Collins! I go there a couple times every week (I was there today working out at the CSU gym). It has a lot of diversity, college students, amazing food, and there is always something to do. Much, much better than Greeley!
  20. Hey ya'll. I think I am going to have to drop, I have WAY to much going on right now! So in that case, I am posting my track of what I have so far. Enjoy! Contest2.nltrack
  21. The second Euro-Fighter has more elaborately themed trains! ~Matthew And less track type options
  22. I'll try it. Even though Im horrible in NoLimits. Question: Does the track have to pass the tunnel test with the boxes we must go through?
  23. Have you even read the thread? Seriously. A lot of these kind of posts along with the "When will it be done?" posts are getting annoying.
  24. Have you even read the thread? Seriously. A lot of these kind of posts along with the "When will it be done?" posts are getting annoying. I do have a question though, where do you get your textures? Cause it's looking great!
