  1. Thanks! Looks like thursday night it is! And if the park is listening...White lightning is finally bring me to the park...THanks for adding...
  2. Quick question...Im gonna be back in orlando next wed thru sun. Is there a "better" day to visit the park?
  3. Did someone say...Magenta???
  4. First we need some good flats, like a HUSS Giant Frisbee or S&S Screamin Swings but...you said good flats...
  5. Was that ever offical? I know it's been speculation but I dont recall ever reading the park saying it was a "go" other than just casually talking about it...
  6. Carowinds has plenty enough coasters...the water park has been neglected for ages...well thats a stretch but you get the picture.
  7. About...TIME! Soooo glad its not the same complex they have been pushing around the chain either...not to say that wouldnt be a welcome addition!
  8. September 18th-22nd to my second home, orlando, for some rest and relaxation and the opening of hhn23! Anyone else gonna be down??? I have annual pass for universal and sea world parks...
  9. Thanks for all your help and break down guys. I will really habe to weigh the options. I have to remember I'm taking 2 other aditional trips to orlando for hhn during sep and oct so I may have to hold off from going all out in hollywood... One more question...hotels, specifically near universal. I am having a hard time figuring out what is close and what says it is but really isn't. I will be a walker (hahaha...not dead though) and I would love a hotel like, right on property. I don't have this problem in Orlando because its pretty clear what is close to universal and what isn't and then there is the on-site hotels. So guys, where should I stay since I'm walking and using public transportation? Again, thanks to you guys for helping me out...
  10. Ok im back! Now that universal has released the price of the VIP experience is it really worth it? What has the backlot tour consist of in the past for the VIP experience?
  11. Thunder Road is in North and South Carolina, but it's a racing coaster, so maybe the first coaster, non racing to be in two states? Or maybe make the first steel coaster in two states. Or maybe the first launched coaster in two states. Or maybe the first kiddie coaster in two states. Or maybe the first single tracked woodie in two states. Or maybe the first inverted coaster in two states. It doesn't matter, it's not the FIRST coaster in two states. it will be the SECOND coaster in two states and people are unlikely to care about that fact. It will be the second coaster in two states...after goldrusher and nighthawk . I hope carowinds doesn't go the cedar point entrance route. Cedar point is for coasters and carowinds is for heritage to me. Am I too boring for wanting a RMC transformation of hurler but without all the inversions? I woe love to see a mack water coaster added to the park, personally, since the park lost its flume...hell, an aquatrax would even do...
  12. Whats up with people wanting a coaster with a "MCBR"? Is it something im missing here? Do they now insinuate a coaster of quality? I think SFoG has a good coaster line up. If i were a local I would be screaming "more flat rides" before screaming for a "MCBR" coaster...
  13. Let's not rejoice so soon...we still have to traverse the "trim brake" mine field...hahaha
  14. Oh...you should be fine! (well...not so much airtime on cheetah hunt though lol... )
  15. Im 5' 8 and 215 and had no problems at all, but its about your porportions. Also, no hall-o-screams? Might as well take advantage of that while you're down!
  16. Thanks for the suggestion. While im not much of a show person I will that that into consideration. Does the park offer line skipping options for the haunt?
  17. Thanks for that. You may have just sold me on that option. I didnt know it was unlimited FOL. Im gonna ask again about knotts. Is it worth a day trip since im gonna be there for the haunt that night? Thanks again to you guys for helping thus far.
  18. Thank you guys for all the help and advise thus far. Unfortunately I wont be able to go to any other parks in the area I would have gotten a plat pass for sure! Two more questions aside from the many I have already asked... Since Knotts released their line up of included rides, will I be safe to go just to the haunt or are their ride only open during the park hours that I sound def not miss? Has anyone done the VIP thing at USH? Im trying to weigh all my options, even food!
  19. Hey guys, I came up with this bright idea, which doesn’t happen much lol! My goal is to attend all four major theme park Halloween events in a single weekend in 3 months . That’s right, im gonna take on howl-o-scream at Busch Gardens, Halloween Horror Nights at BOTH Orlando and Hollywood and also take on Knotts Scary Farms…basically in one single proverbial breath. I’ve spent the last week or so reviewing trip reports, mapping out the right plan of action and doing more research to make this as successful as possible. Now I need you guys knowledgeable help and expertise... After perusing the net, I have found the lowest price (flight) for the following itinerary to be between 390.00 and 405.00. Should I expect it to get lower than that? My instinct is telling me to buy now but the frugality nature I tend to operate in says wait it out…oh yeah the itinerary. Train from Columbia SC to Tampa FL 10/10/13 --> Fly from TPA to LAX morning of 10/11/13 --> From LAX, go to hotel/Knotts Berry Farms --> Leave hotel/Knotts Berry Farms, head to Universal Studios 10/12/13 --> Fly from LAX to MCO morning of 10/13/13 --> Universal Orlando 10/13/13 Train to Columbia when my runs out… Now, being that I have never been west of the Mississippi, I have lots and lots of questions pertaining to California and their parks. Here are a few, for now, and I’ll see what may cross my mind later. FIRST!!! Is there anything I need to know about the area before I go? Should I reverse the order of CA parks? I chose this order based on knotts being further away from LAX and figure it would be easy to get back to LAX from Universal Hollywood vs Knotts. Am I correct in that assumption? Are they any transportation shuttles from airport to hotels and vice versa…as well as park to park?I did some research and this place, http://graylineanaheim.com/charters.shtml , seems to be the best option from LAX to Knotts . I am currently going thru hotels that provide airline shuttles as well as park shuttles. My key points are if its cheaper/feasible to pay the extra money for a particular hotel that provides a shuttle or just pay for a shuttle service. Anyone had experience with this in LA? Also, is public transportation between Knotts and universal adequate? Universal studios Any local discount coupons? Unfortunately being a Premiere pass holder at Universal Orlando had no perks or plus at any other parks. Yep, not even a discount on the park tickets! So with that said, other than the online price, are any good offers available locally? Game plans for the event? Being that I will be there, for the most part, for HHN I really won’t have the time to officially “enjoy” the park…or will I? I have notice that Hollywood’s Universal Studios doesn’t seem to have the line up as Orlando. So with that said, should I wait for HHN to do the “in park” things as well as the mazes or is it really worth the extra ticket to experience the park during the day and HHN at night? This leads me to my next question if I decided to do the park during the day… Is VIP /FOL really needed if im already there during park hours? Ok, If I decide to do the park during the day and stay for the event or, as suggested in many trip reports, arrive to the park and enter thru the lower lot should I still consider the VIP/FOL options. While the VIP option looks very impressive im wondering if its really worth it. Are they any “not to miss” attractions/food/experiences at Universal Hollywood? Knotts Scary Farms Is it possible to see all 13 mazes in one night? Wow…13 full scale normal maze! Now that is a lot…but is it possible to see it all in one night. I have already come to the conclusion I would have purchase some type of express style option Are they any local discounts for the park/haunt? Being I don’t have any pass for Cedar Fair parks I have to ask this question again…other than the online price, are any good offers available locally? Again, Are they any “not to miss” attractions/food/experiences at Knotts? Also, I have been thinking about ending my trip on a softer note and going to Mickeys not-so-scary Halloween party ! Now, I am a 31 (32 during the trip) year old grown man with no kids. Im not trying to go for the “creeper” factor. Is this an event suitable for my “type”? Its been a while, 2009, since I have been to the magic kingdom and this could be a chance to refresh my Disney quota. What are you guys thoughts on the event? Im thanking you guys in advance for all advise, suggestions and recommendations for navigating LA as well as the parks im gonna be experiencing, for the first time! Wish my luck!!
  20. This thread was also made long before that coaster. I wonder what the consensus is now that B&M has broken the 300ft mark? Was it that big a difference than the regular hypers?
  21. Its not uncommon for rumors to start before the ride is planned and set on as far as design, but I think those rumors stemmed from the fact that both bush parks usually get similar attractions so it was a no brainer that a drop tower would be dropped down at bgt...it was just a matter of when at this point.
  22. Intamin is king of drop towers...that's a fact! (dodges stones) I've been thinking...will this really need leg restraints? With rides like sheikra dropping vertically with a pause in the vertical position and acrophopia tilting you at 15 degrees with you on nothing but a bicycle seat I don't think, in my opinion leg restraints are needed. I know concept arts and video renditions are not "tell all" but it makes me wonder if what we see is basically what you get here.
  23. From my knowledge, it was never bubba gumps. I only remember Kings Dominion to have one (the only other paramount park I went to at the time)
  24. Well...when I was there earlier this month I overheard a ride op on scorpion say the exact same thing about gwazi... I find it hard to believe but apparently that is the rumor floating amongst ride ops at least...
  25. but that makes me wonder, why stop one side if both sides are the issue?
