I love the stalker game! -cough-PsiRockin-cough- -

Urban vertical amusement park
A.J. replied to shivtim's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Um? The coaster and log flume components of the park don't look like they're even possible to build. I wouldn't discount the idea entirely though, just the execution. I'd love to see Intamin build a super-cool side-of-the-building drop ride on an existing vertical tower. That would be freaking awesome. -
The Santa CLAW! Live Claw Machine - Crane Game!

I just got in the queue (yes, I'm American, but I think "queue" is more fun to say). Anyone else think it's weird that the introduction video to the site has a random car exploding? -
Intamin Spiral Coaster!

Sort of. I have a late nineties book (Roller Coaster by David Bennett) that has a picture of the ride operating in its former location the Sky Plaza. -

Is there any way to pinpoint how the files end up with the number-at-the-end designations? -
I'll tell you what I'm ranting about - HOV (High-Occupancy Vehicle) lanes. I was driving down Interstate 95 Southbound just outside of Washington a few weeks ago with a car full of friends. All four southbound lanes were backed up for miles on end. HOWEVER, in the northbound lanes, there weren't even 5% as many cars going into Washington. The "wrong" part about this was - the HOV lanes were open to northbound traffic. Why can't HOV lanes be opened up based on the traffic in one direction, and not what time it was? The lanes were there, but no one was using them! The worst part about this whole situation is that I have to do it again going down to Walt Disney World to work (a little easier, because one of my parents is taking me down).

They disguise themselves as soccer balls so they can migrate overseas to the FIFA World Cup. How could people be stupid enough to throw Wii Remotes at televisions? -
Dearest Title Fairy, I would like to request a custom title upon your highest approval. I would like my title changed to "Waits for the front seat". I understand you are very busy, and I don't want to stress you out. So, take your time! I can wait. ~ A. "likes to be nice to the Title Fairy so he doesn't get an embarrassing custom title" J.

Best American B&M Inverted coaster
A.J. replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm partial to der Alpengeist, because A) I've never ridden Montu and B) it's my favorite roller coaster to ride in the very front. -
Most definitely. The coaster enthusiast group and the general public are two completely different groups of riders. Unfortunately, the majority of amusement parks are at the mercy of the general public's opinion! While we all love the intensity of Intimidator 305's first turn, it seems as though John Smith and Jane Doe can't handle it. Since John and Jane both live in Virginia and each have families, they've bought season passes for King's Dominion. If their children that meet Intimidator 305's minimum height restriction black out on the ride, they wouldn't want to take their kids back to Kings Dominion anymore, because the ride's unsafe for their children! Guess what park just lost season pass subscribers? To keep those kinds of riders coming back to the park, they need to control the ride's forces by lowering the speed of the ride. Of course, my analogy could be completely bogus. I'm sort of making this up as I go along.

The image looks over-saturated...or something. More pictures of the trains don't make me any more excited for the ride though... -
My Custom-Designed Roller Coaster
A.J. replied to Phatage's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
In my misguided opinion, you shouldn't even mimic real designers' styles at all. I don't know everything about the industry, but it seems as though firms would be more interested as to what you can do and not what they would do if they designed another ride. -
TPR's Game Exchange! BETA TESTING!
A.J. replied to robbalvey's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
No matter when it was uploaded (be it today, yesterday, or in November), a file with the "file_name_###" name has resulted in a 0KB download. For example, Mountaineer (uploaded Dec 29) works on both of my systems, while OverDose (uploaded Dec 28) does not work on either of them. -

I would absolutely love for the Cyclone to be rebuilt to modern standards. It's on the top of my list of "coasters I wish I could ride but were demolished before I was born". The Coney Island Tornado is another one. Off topic. -
TPR's Game Exchange! BETA TESTING!
A.J. replied to robbalvey's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
There seem to be both "current" and "old" files lurking in the exchange. The "old" files have the file name followed by a number (file_name_###), and they tend to be the ones that don't work (0KB) depending on who's downloading them. The "current" files have a number followed by the file name (###_file_name), and all of those files that I have downloaded have worked, save for the RCT2 parks with objects not exported. Weren't the "old" files put into the exchange before beta testing began? -

Looking good, as per usual. I'm getting more and more thankful for those anti-reach shields every time I see photos of this ride, heh heh. -
TPR's Game Exchange! BETA TESTING!
A.J. replied to robbalvey's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Perhaps there should be a prominent warning on one of the pages. Something like this: MAKE SURE YOU SELECT "EXPORT PLUG-IN OBJECTS" OR [insert TPR member's name here] WILL RAPE YOU IN YOUR SLEEP! ...or something similar.
