  1. Aha, that would explain it! Maybe they'll put the spin...I mean turning trains on a Wild Train coaster! Bizzare turning ejector airtime!
  2. The UAE is so amazing. Never before have I seen a majestic building and a deserted theme park in so close proximity to each other. The spinning coaster looked like it was about to make a fast launch or something before it got back to the station. You know, like one of those "wait for it, wait for it, wait for it" moments.
  3. Fair enough. 8 is finished. That took way too long... 4 it is for me then.
  4. Fantastic. So, who's going to do what? I can't do RCT1, because I don't have my disc with me down here in Orlando. I can do pretty much anything except hacking in RCT2. I can do pretty much anything except creating custom scenery, rides, and/or tracks in RCT3. I can do anything in NoLimits. I can't do Scream Machines, because I don't have it.
  5. It may be just me, but the layout looks dreadfully short. Do we know if it's a B&M or an Intamin?
  6. Very simple. Very clean. I likes it. One thing though - Splashdown doesn't look like it's supported well enough. Have you ever tried balancing a big plate on a wimpy stick?
  7. SoCal, the stand-up needs a proper brake run...
  8. Mcjaco and I went back and forth about that in another thread when I asked about posting guidelines for file upload stuff like exporting plug-in objects, etc etc. I'm thinking we should hold off on posting tutorials until the exchange goes live. Especially with head honcho away for a while - I always seem to screw up on Main Street when there's no manager around to call. I'd rather play it safe, y'know? I mean, we can prepare them (write 'em up in Word/Pages, etc), but at least hold off on posting them. One of us can do write-ups for a particular game, and the others can proofread them. I can write up stuff for every game we support except Scream Machines. I'm an RCT veteran!
  9. Bahahaha, you were moving several of my tracks in as I was uploading a new one! Still chipping away at 8. Some of these take so little time, some of these take so much time...
  10. PRESENTING... A.J.'s Bright n' Shiny Scenarios RCT2 Edition! Why, hello there all you RCT2 players! Are you boring? Do friends describe you as dull, or drab...or "pladitudinous"? THEN...try some of A.J.'s Bright n' Shiny RCT2 Scenarios! My scenarios are designed specifically to relieve our gamers from the dull and boring strives of detail work associated with building massive CSO-filled parks and give them something fun for them to go nuts on! The scenario format is identical to the scenarios presented in RCT and RCT2. I will release scenarios periodically throughout the coming few months. Each scenario release will be its own separate post with a screenshot and a link to the game exchange file. All of my scenarios will be placed in the "Challenging Parks" directory. When you've finished a scenario, feel free to post in this thread with your completed park! This post will be updated with links to each of the scenarios as they are released. ALL of my scenarios can be opened using vanilla RCT2, and they contain NO custom scenery or rides. List of Released Scenarios Click each name to be directed to the game exchange file. 001. Sudden Sinkhole 002. Big River 003. Wonderful Falls 004. Shelter Park A.J.'s Bright & Shiny Scenario RCT2001 Sudden Sinkhole GAME EXCHANGE LINK - Sudden Sinkhole
  11. It is truly odd. Like I said before, I think Great Escape is fantastic from a technological standpoint, and terrible as an attraction.
  12. All done. Ironically, when I edit someone else's post I end up writing my edit like they would...imitation is the sincerest form of flattery I guess.
  13. Requesting permission to post and stick a thread: I want to stick a thread with general "rules of thumb" for when players post downloads to the forum and exchange. For example, an RCT2 heading of the thread would include things like, "make sure objects are exported" and "include custom rides in the download" with supporting screenshots.
  14. Curse theme parks and their ability to get NoLimits Pro...
  15. Delete the files from your directory, and redownload the .RAR. The CTR_Millennium_Flyer_Car folder goes in Cars > TrackedRideCars. The CTR_Millennium_Flyer_Track folder goes in Tracks > TrackedRides. You have to have both folders in the right place or the CTR will not work correctly.
  16. Okay then, all you have to do is create a new folder to put the two files in, and send it to the TrackedRideCars directory. Name it CTR_MayleneMillenniumFlyers or something.
  17. That's all there is in the folder. Copy/paste or extract the folder containing the common.ovl and unique.ovl files to C: > Program Files (x86 if you have Vista or 7) > Atari > RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum > Cars > TrackedRideCars.
  18. Apologies. I got excited! Back to work then. Heh heh.
  19. I likes it! Tonight I can spruce it up and post it to someone's approval. I like using the bold, white text to make the rules easier to understand.
  20. I've got a proposal for contests. To quickly and easily sort out what entries were in which contests, I've come up with a system - When players would submit an entry for public or private judging, they would put a prefix (such as [RCT2-BOB] for my bobsled contest) before their design's title on the game exchange. We could put an index as a sticky on the Games forum so that players wishing to view contest entries can do so quickly and easily. Which brings me to another item - contest promotion. Many of our players create their own contests. Wouldn't forum traffic jump if the creators of those contests had their contests put on TPR's front page? They could send a private message to one of our moderators to approve their contest, and their contest could be like, "TPR Official" or something.
  21. WHAAAA??? You haven't forgotten about this challenge, have you? To submit your entry, simply upload it to the Game Exchange with the following prefix before its name - [RCT2-BOB] Remember that the deadline for this challenge is Thursday, February 24.
  22. The in-ear audio and neck fans were kept and are still used. When the lights go off and Stitch "bounces" around, he sounds like he's right in front of your face. Water is used as well. In the beginning of the show when Stitch is teleported in, he spits in two directions (I believe the Stitch animatronic was the very first audio-animatronic to spit water), which seem innocent but "cut off the power" to the room. As a technical production, Stitch's Great Escape is very good. However, as an experience, it's mediocre.
  23. HA! I likes it! Thank you, Title Fairy.
  24. 30 feet. I think they're being serious. It's really weird that they named and themed it to Manta, because I don't think they'd be able to use the "ride the flying ray" slogan on a roller coaster that, well, doesn't fly.
  25. Iiiiiiiiiiiiiinteresting. Moving on. I don't even want to begin to speculate. A lot of players (NE or anywhere else) seem to think that you are required to use custom scenery for an RCT3 or even RCT2 park to even remotely look good. While some attempts at making non-CS parks have epically failed (GrabosakiEnterprises ), in the "before time" of RCT3 there were several people out there who could make a park look good, for example shyguy and his Wonder World park. That's why I don't judge my contests based on what scenery is used. I consider how much effort was put into the design as a whole, essentially asking the question, "are you proud of your design?".
