Millenium Force out of Operation?
jmicha replied to JulieWent's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't think that they're waiting for a part, because it was capable of testing on Memorial Day. -
That's good to hear about the holding brake being on as all four times I went last year, it was off.

Yeah, the airtime in the back seat on the first drop is absolutely amazing. -

Just so you all know, Millennium Force will be open today according to the website. -
It really depends. I've gotten days in the middle of the summer around 90 degrees (not too comfortable) and days where its 45, rainy, and windy (ironically enough, these are some of the most fun days I've ever had). I'm going on Memerial Day which is generally a slower day for the park and it's supposed to be in the mid 80s which is still a little uncomfortable but when travelling at 120mph, that really doesn't matter does it?

Disneyworld Trip in January
jmicha replied to jmicha's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Unfortunately, I'll be at college in two years meaning I'd be unable to take this long-weekend trip for five years, so I'd like to be able to do as much as possible on my first visit. I've been talking with my parents, and we're thinking about having a late-night flight back home on the Monday we're there and hitting AK that day since it closes earlier than the other parks. This would allow for a full day at each park. As far as money goes, the moderate hotels are as much as we're willing to spend on hotels. -
Disneyworld Trip in January
jmicha replied to jmicha's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks for the suggestions. I am actually a thrill-seaker, my family however is not. My family moves at a steady pace and I'm not sure if doing two parks in one day would be good for them, and I know that I'd have to ride EE, RnRC, and ToT over and over again which could make doing two parks difficult. I'm still having trouble deciding whether to go to MGM or Epcot. I was thinking that whatever day we did Animal Kingdom we'd also go over to Epcot for a few hours to ride some of the rides there and see the showcase (although very quickly) and any other day that we finish a park early, we'd head back to Magic Kingdom so that we could get any rerides or do any rides that we hadn't had the chance to ride the day we were there. -
The past three Januaries, my family has gone to Universal Studios Florida for three days. I'm okay with doing this again (love Univeral Orlando) but three days at US for the forth time is a little much for my family and they'd like to see something different for next January. I suggested Disney World and they all liked that idea, so I researched it and I have a few questions. The first question is what hotel to stay at. I'm thinking of the Coronado Springs Hotel due to its central location to all of Disneyworld. Is this a correct statement (never been to WDW) and where is the monorail in reference to this hotel? Would getting to the parks be quick if I were to stay at this hotel? The second question I have is what parks to go to. We're leaning toward Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and MGM Studios. I'm wondering if this is the correct choice, or if we should go to Epcot instead of MGM Studios. My family isn't a thrill-seaking family (other than me, although I know not to expect huge thrills from Disney) and I think this is the right choice. The last question I have is what days are the Extra Magic Hours for the three parks in January? Thanks in advance, and I'm open to any suggestions.

The slow Death of A Classic Park
jmicha replied to gravitywolf216's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I doubt it will become a lost park. It may not be doing well in two (only two, you can't judge if a park is worth keeping open in only two seasons, despite how poor those seasons were), but Cedar Fair is certainly not going to give up on the park. If they were, would they continue to expand the waterpark? Or would they finish retracking RWB if it was going to be scrapped (most likely what would happen to it if the park closed)? The answer is no. As Dick Kinzel stated, it just may take longer than they expected originally to get the park back up to Cedar Fair standards. -
2 odd coasters in Thailand....
jmicha replied to Canobie Fan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Is it me, or does that shuttle look like it was designed using the air launched coaster in RCT? If it comes close to the top of the tower, it looks like it could pull some serious g's (possibly the reason it is closed). -
"The drop" on Villain (when it was still in a good running condition) or the drop after the first turnaround on Raging Wolf Bobs in the back (in its current state). It may not look like much, but you first get thrown to the right, then you get launched into the air for the best moment I've experienced of lateral air.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
jmicha replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I, for one, am very excited about this ride. Hopefully it will do to that section of Frontirtown that Maxair did for its midway. If you visited the park this year, it's amazing how nice that section of the park looks with the new gaming area and landscaping. It advanced it two or three decades. I like the name also. It's different from many of the names of rides at The Point. People who aren't grateful for this ride really need to realize that the park is doing the right thing in gearing rides more towards the family. It's thrilling, yet not too thrilling for the whole family to ride. And it's also a ride that young kids will ride and be able to brag about and feel like they've accomplished something, unlike many of the newer rides with the same thrill-level. Some people are just too spoiled and can't appreciate a new ride. -
No, actually (not a DDR fan).

Lol, sounds like you were on the train in front of me on Wicked Twister where they made everyone leave the train. Apparently, a girl towards the front puked and they had to clean it up, but obviously they wouldn't say that over the intercom. Also, did you get to ride Wildcat on Sunday? Unfortunately while waiting in line for it, a car didn't make it up the small hop before the final helix, and as far as I could tell, it wasn't going to be open the rest of the day. -
