There are so many good shows that have been listed that are bringing back some great memories. My list (which is most likely missing something) is... Dexter's Lab Power Puff Girls Dragon Ball Z Legends of the Hidden Temple Married with Children Captain Planet (I still randomly break out in this show's theme song) Animaniacs Doug As Told by Ginger The Wild Thornberrys Angry Beavers Rocko's Modern Life AH! Real Monsters Rungrats Johnny Bravo Life as a Teenage Robot Futurama (One of my all time favorite shows. I've seen every episode several times, and could watch each one a hundred times more.) CatDog Hey Arnold All That Fresh Prince of Bel Air (surprised no one has mentioned this yet) Are You Afraid of the Dark The Man Show (such a dumb show, but still funny) Howard Stern (again, dumb, but funny sometimes. That is until he got so full of himself that all we heard about was his whining and complaining) Cow and Chicken (Red Guy pwns) Another thing I miss, although not originally from the 90s, was the older cartoons on cartoon network after 10 PM. I remember falling asleep to the Flinstones, Scooby-Doo, and the Jetsons. Now, Adult Swim has taken this place in the Cartoon Network lineup. Unfortunately, Adult Swim has gone downhill recently in my opinion, so Cartoon Network is basically dead in my eyes. The thing I miss most from the 90s though has to be Cruisin' USA. I still play that game. I would have to stop and spend money every time I saw that game in the arcade. Nothing like awful graphics, awful gameplay, corny dialogue, and ultra-vibrant 90s colors to make a racing game awesome.

^^That's exactly what I thought when I saw the drop angle. -
So I just got back from Death Race, and frankly, it was a lot better than it looked. It was a solid 7/10. Much more plot driven than I thought it would be. Definitely worth seeing once.

^^Lol, if your ideal movie is a comedy/Disney/adventure, Fight Club is quite the opposite. I see where you're coming from though. If something isn't your type of movie, even if it's a well done movie, you're still not going to enjoy it.
-
^Just out of curiosity, why only a 7.5? Fight Club is one of my favorite movies (although I agree the constant swearing seems forced and out of place, and a bit ridiculous), and I'm just wondering. Just curious as to other's opinions on my favorite movies.

^People really found the movie offensive? Dang, people need to lighten up. I wasn't happy with the heroine jokes due to someone close to me dealing with the many problems drug abuse brings, but it wasn't offensive. You just have to take it for what it is. A stupid movie trying to be funny. I don't get why people get so worked up. If you don't like it, don't see it. That way you avoid any offensive conduct, and everyone stays happy.

Police: Man Steals PS3, Says It's to Save His Family
jmicha replied to BarryH's topic in Random, Random, Random
^Lol, I know. Seriously, if his family really was being held hostage, I have a feeling it would have been for a little more than a PS3. Yes, they're expensive, but not expensive enough to hold a family ransom for one. -
Tropic Thunder=bad. Very few funny parts, and they were way too far apart.

I definitely have a severe fear of heights, I just try not to let it bother me. The only time that really works is when I'm on coasters though. Dragster and Millennium still get to me though. But you can't get me on any other type of ride that involves heights. Drop towers leave me feeling awful and give me a headache, and I've decided after my last visit to Cedar Point I will never ride a ferris wheel again. I had white knuckles the instant we left the load platform, and didn't look at anything other than the flood of the pod until the ride was over. The Skyride is also out of the question for me, as someone always finds it funny to rock it which basically gives me a heart attack. But to answer your question, if you love coasters, just ride them and don't think about it. If you get on, it's too late to do anything anyways, so regretting your decision won't get you anywhere.

^Hey come one now, video games have virtual suns which are actually starting to look as good as the real sun, so who needs to go outside.

Why are parks going for the new B&M trains?
jmicha replied to tigerlaw's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Not only that, but potential for airtime will be higher in the front and back. The shorter the train, the smaller the range of g-forces are depending on which seat you are in. Now with a longer train, the front and back will experience more airtime than if the ride had the old B&M trains. -

To JamesDillaman, I don't. Unfortunately, I now only get to ride in the short breaks that I get between quarters. And considering Christmas is the only long break, unfortunately there's not really any time to go to amusement parks (although I do go to Universal Studios the first week of my Christmas break). -

I would, except I live in Cleveland, just go to school in Cincy. Their architecture program ROCKS!!! -

I also really don't understand why people go around to parks to just get credits and only like the most intense, world-class coasters out there. I know when I'm at Cedar Point, not only do I have fun on every ride I ride (except the ferris wheel. God I hate those things), but I make sure I don't pass by the smaller, less ridden rides. I have just as much fun on Mine Ride, Corkscrew, Iron Dragon, Wildcat, and even Disaster Transport (especially DT actually) as I do on Maverick, Millennium, Magnum, Raptor, or Dragster. Sure, those rides may not get my adrenaline pumping like their bigger siblings, but they are certainly fun, especially when riding with the right people. Nothing like over-dramatic reactions to flying through dark rooms themed to Alaska at relatively slow speeds. -

Well, you also have to look at all the other elements on Intamin hypers. There are low-lying turns taken at high speed (not found on any B&M hyper), hills featuring quick direction changes at the apex (not found on any B&M hyper), Stengel dive (which is innovative. There's no reason that hill should be banked the way it is, whereas the hammerhead turns are banked because they need to be in order to not kill the riders), Stengel drop (GeForce's drop is different than any other hyper coaster's drop), cable lifts (although now common on many Intamin coasters, it was a new innovation when Millennium was built, and a useful one at that), mix of hills with twister sections that is not predictable (Yes, the B&M hypers may have helices, but they are in very predictable locations, like at the far end of the track or right before the MCBR or final brake run), high-speed turnarounds (although a few new B&M hypers are taking their turnarounds at higher speeds, which is a good thing), and many other things. Don't get me wrong, I like both B&M and Intamin coasters, but Intamin is more willing to try new things, which is why I think many people are upset with the lack of innovation with Diamondback (although, I still feel that people that were expecting innovation with the new ride should never have gotten their hopes up). But that is also the reason why many Intamin coasters have troubles when they are new, and the reason parks like to go with B&M coasters. Everything B&M does has been tried and proven, and their rides are loved by the general public, which makes perfect business sense when buying a ride. B&M and Intamin are just different is all. They have their own niches in the amusement world, which is a good thing, while still both being the major steel coaster designers. -

I think this ride looks like it will be a great improvement for the park. The park was in need of a B&M and a hyper, so this covers both. Yeah, it may not be the world's most innovative ride, but were any of you really surprised when the announcement came this morning that the ride was very similar to the other B&M hypers? I, for one, wasn't expecting this extremely unique layout with all new elements to boot. Therefore, I'm not let down at all. I'm actually really happy with this. The ride is very good looking (even if it is the common CF color scheme, there isn't much red in Kings Island) and should be a dramatic addition to the skyline. And the second drop almost as big as the first one is definitely going to be thrilling in my opinion. The only thing that I would have loved to see on this ride was to keep the exact same layout, but to remove the third hill and replace it with a high-speed, low-lying overbanked turn into a small bunny hill up into the turnaround. That would have been great and would have been really fun to go through the woods close to the ground at such high speeds. -
^Oh I know, I'm not counting anything out until I see it completed and experience it for myself. I'm 100 percent going to fully experience the Harry Potter land before making any judgement. I just can't say that the thought of having Harry Potter excites me, but that doesn't mean it won't be a great addition that I could potentially really like.

About the odd lift hill angles, I definitely agree. All the supports on the right side are one angle, and all of the ones on the left are another, which looks unusual. And only the supports on the right side meet up with the track. Not symmetrically designed like Nitro's or with one vertical supports and one angled support like Silver Star. It appears to be a combination of the two, as if someone pulled the vertical supports from Silver Star out from underneath the ride. -
I'm definitely looking forward to my visits in the upcoming years. Manta and Rockit are the two additions I'm really excited about. Harry Potter, not so much. Never really that big of a fan of the Potter universe and I really liked the way the Lost Continent was before all of this new construction. Oh well, parks need to improve to appeal to new crowds, which hopefully this will do. Whatever is best for the park is alright with me.

^Call me stupid, but where are people finding images and/or videos of this ride? -
^^Oh yeah, I completely forgot about the Chance Toboggans. Those for some reason don't look backwards. Probably because the lift is inside the main support. I wonder why they didn't make this ride have a vertical or beyond vertical drop. It already has the highest vertical lift, so it seems like it would be quite easy to have a steeper drop. Not that I'm complaining, the ride looks really fun. And that non-inverting loop is something I've been wanting to see ever since the first time I played No Limits and made one (poorly at that). I'm wondering at what speed the ride is going to be taking the helix and dive element after the first MCBR. That element looks like it will be a real adrenaline pumper if taken at the right speed.

^Wow, that's a huge difference. I remember some people estimating that the majority of this movie's earnings would be from first weekend sales and that it would not gross any more than 300-350 million nationwide. Man were they wrong, lol.

^^I'm definitely excited for the new Camaro and Challenger. I know a lot of people are not fans of the "retro" cars, but I am, especially these two. I've had the pleasure of seeing a black and an orange challenger driving on the highway. Definitely a head-turner.
