  1. Wait, and the exit stairs have 21 steps instead of 20?! That's it. #BoycottThePoint
  2. I always thought a nice Premier looper like Sky Rocket or YOLOcoaster would be a good Corkscrew replacement if it were to ever be torn down. Their capacity isn't the greatest, but CP could make it work.
  3. I don't know how it affects the other lines, but personally I like the idea of only having to wait 45 mins or so when Gatekeeper's queue is full, being that it's such a high-capacity ride. I'm hoping Valravn will be similar. Walking past a full TTD or MF queue gives you that sinking feeling if you don't have FL+, because you know you're in it for the long haul if you wait.
  4. It will probably be removed for another ride that just plops you in front of a screen, spits out a few effects, and shakes you around a bit.
  5. We will always remember you, boat. #NeverForget
  6. I have this streak going with myself in which I have gotten at least one new credit every calendar year since 1999. I generally don't ride kiddie coasters for the credits, but one year I was reduced to riding Cocoa Cruiser at Hershey to keep this streak alive. Honestly though, it was a lot more fun than I expected! My cousin went on with me and it whipped us around pretty good!
  7. I definitely would not say operations are bad for the "first few weeks." I've been going in early May every year for well over the past 10 years, from opening day, to the day after, to the middle of opening week, to the end of the week...and operations are usually only worse the first day or two (and they're still not bad at all compared to some terrible Six Flags operations). By the middle/end of opening week, everything usually smooths out. If you do go in August (even during the week), be prepared to buy Fast Lane passes...you won't need any in May. It is higher risk, higher reward because of the weather, but I've had MANY upon MANY great days at CP in May, where everything was a walk-on. Sometimes it can be a bit chilly, but that's the price you pay for having most of the rides to yourself. The only downside is no Soak City or shows. CP in May is mainly if you just want to ride rides.
  8. That skyline looks awesome already!
  9. Much better than a drop tower! I like it!
  10. Kennywood isn't necessarily a gigantic park that needs a people eater, though? We're talking about the same park that NEVER opens with two trains on their signature attraction.
  11. That's good. I'm all for Kennywood's "traditional" schtick, but a little modernization and change is nice too.
  12. The elevator has been taken out of Noah's Ark. I'm not sure if it will be returning, or something entirely different.
  13. Good lord. It's a dive machine, and it's the biggest and baddest one out there. I think it's a great addition, considering there are only two others in the entire country. I think it's going to be an epic ride, and I'm pretty excited.
  14. This 100%. I used to be so eager to book my next Universal trip to check out their new attractions, but with everything becoming just a different version of sitting in front of a screen while being shaken, I'm more hesitant. Maybe I'll be wrong, in fact I hope I am wrong, but if this current trend continues, I don't see myself going back for a few years.
  15. No matter how rough it gets, The Beast at night still ranks as one of my top coaster experiences ever.
  16. Green lantern at SFMM. I can handle intense rides just fine, but man, that thing feels like it's ripping your soul from your body. No thanks.
  17. Hmm. Maybe they will fill the tracks with sand like Talon at Dorney park to remove the problems with people complaining about the noise? Could also be a reason why they would want to replace the entire track. (But it would take away from the whole Hulk's roar effect). I wasn't complaining about the noise. Trust me, nothing lulls me to sleep better than B&M roar. The purpose of that post was to reiterate that Hulk runs constantly. Even hours before the park opens, and hours after the park closes.
  18. FWIW, I've been to USO/IOA three total times (each a week-long stay), staying in the Loews Royal Pacific every time. That hotel is close enough to see and hear Hulk from your room if you're on the correct side (all three times I was on the same side). I'm not exaggerating when I say that probably more than 90% of those days I was woken up by Hulk's B&M roar at 6 or 7am, and at the same time heard it still going well past midnight. Keep in mind my visits were in September & May, when the park closed at 6 or 7pm. I was amazed at the fact that it just...Never. Stops. Running.
  19. I'm sorry, but I find it hard to believe a family of five from Michigan would pay more for a trip to Cedar Point than to Disney World. Just going on their site, 4-day hopper tickets alone for a family of five is roughly $2000. Also, am I missing something? Didn't Cedar Point just add two new family rides in 2014, and revamp an entire kids area? So they removed one of the three car rides that they have...just go ride one of the other two.
  20. They charge that much because people are willing to pay it. If you don't like it, then don't pay it and wait in line with everyone else.
  21. Look into Mears. They offer a shuttle from Universal to Busch Gardens, so I'm sure they offer one to Disney also. I went to BGA from Universal back in 2009 and I don't recall it being expensive at all. I think it was around $15 per person round trip? Prices have probably changed, but I don't imagine they're that bad.
  22. I need your guys' help. I can't for the life of me find the name of a certain song. It's a rock song, and sounds Metallica-ish or newer, but it could be older, I'm not sure. It goes, "something something revoluuuuution, yeeeaaaahhh" and is a slower paced rock song. I know that's not much to go off, but I think they might say constitution sometimes instead of revolution in different parts? I can hear it perfectly in my head, but can't find it, thanks!
  23. That could be anything. From a footer, to an electrical shed, to a planter on the pathway. I wouldn't read into it too much.
  24. Yeah, I'll agree that it's minor discomfort sitting on the brake run, but I'm definitely not crippled for the rest of the day like people like to make it sound.
  25. Straight to the point, I like it. Ever since riding Sheikra in 2009, I've wanted to take a trip to BGE to ride Griffon (was last there in 2004). Now I don't have to drive 9 hours, and there will be a bigger and badder dive machine a lot closer. As simple and plain as it seems, I like it. This thing is going to be so intimidating!
