Lol just bite the bullet and do it. The front row will always have a long queue but there's a reason for that, and actually the fact that they insist on only using one of four loading stations helps the lines for individual rows go faster. Kingda Ka in row 1 is like crack... not that I would know. Lol

I don't think I've ridden an Intamin so for now I'll say a Huss giant frisbee like Maxair. -

I found Delerium to be a great ride (as all frisbees are) and about middle-of-the road in their category. It's better than an old school Huss Frisbee or something like Revolution at Dorney (which I believe is a fireball running a mediocre program) and a little below large Huss Rides like it's namesake at Kings Island or Maxair. -

Chilly? B**ch please. And by the way it turns out Shenendoah Lumber Company had no minimum temperature limit. Can you believe our luck? What a great day at Kings Dominion. -

Some quick shots from the park so far... ... and not a single F**K was given that day We were lucky enough to be on the first public ride ever on Delirium! Great ride! Is this a new lighting package? It looks great as does the one on Delirium. This area should look great at night. Fun TV says it's 40 degrees so they finally fired up Intimidator! -
We went to the park yesterday for preview day and had a great time. I'll spare everyone the trip report but just a few key observations. 1) Apollo's Chariot is a really underrated ride in the very back row. It's nothing to write home about otherwise but a great ride in the back. The pre drop makes for a spectacular moment of airtime down the drop and the same can be said for the airtime hills immediately after the midcourse. 2) For everyone saying Alpengeist is rough, grow some balls. There's nothing rough about this ride. This is probably still our favorite coaster in the park. 3) Kudos to the park for running the water rides despite the ridiculously low temperatures. Pompei is as amazing as ever. Quite a few people were riding it since it barely gets you wet and the effects are insane. 4) Tempesto was fun, it was our first ride on it and I enjoyed it immensely. 5) Hats off to the staff! All day people went above and beyond to make our day great. We asked one woman working at a gift shop how late the stores were open as we wanted to go ride Alpengeist and then come back and buy something. She said we could buy it then and she would hold it. 10 minutes later when we got back she was standing outside holding the bag. Way above and beyond! We didn't expect that. Also, despite catching the last train of the day on Alpengeist it wasn't our last ride. About 15 minutes after close we noticed the Sky Ride still sending buckets around and they let us catch one to the front of the park. Little things like that are just awesome to see. 6) Those Bavarian Pretzels tho Overall we had an awesome day! Hats off to everyone at BGW!

Headed to the park today, they're warning of some delayed openings due to minimum temperature limits. Can someone please explain what they mean by that? Our home park is Six Flags Great Adventure so we're unfamiliar with this concept. -

Evidently the park confirmed today that Hurler would be closed this season "for maintenance". I sincerely hope this involves RMC and not another Ghostrider style project. -

Probably. We're planning on going to BGW tomorrow and we'll probably stop at KD for a little bit on the way back... at least to take a spin on Dominator, Flight of Fear, Volcano and I305 if they're running. Also you can never rule out a pit stop at Drop Tower, Avalanche or Shenandoah Lumber Company if it's open. And by that I mean if Shenandoah Lumber Company is running you would need an army to stop us from riding it. We'll have to drive back to New York, possibly in a foot of snow. If that's the case then damn right I'd like to ride a Log Flume and drive in a blizzard on the same day, just because life's too short not to do sh*t like that -
I'm just thinking out loud hear but does anyone else think it's possible that they'll always have orcas? Even if they end the breeding program they'll probably still be left with the world's best Orca medical facilities on earth. They could eventually just turn into an orca rehabilitation center / home for any orcas deemed non-releasable (sort of like a Turtle Trek) type thing. I'm no expert but I think this could absolutely be practical and only the most idiotic of activists would have a problem with something like that. Luckily it could be 50 years before this discussion even becomes necessary.

Hurler isn't that bad, it's just not that good either. Seriously people how many times do I have to tell you about the 2 bench PTC trick? Lol Row 1: Lean Forward and stay off the seat back. It makes almost every 2 bench PTC enjoyable. Even rides like Mean Streak and Wild Beast. -
So when Joel Manby proclaimed that they "weren't going to be quiet anymore" and that they would be proactive in defending their reputation he basically meant that they would bow down to organizations that won't be satisfied no matter what they do anyway. Next they'll bitch about the Belugas, and the Dolphins, and the Pilot Whales and basically everything except the fish and possibly Sea Turtles since they're non releasable. They'll bitch about the Dolphin show, they'll bitch about the Sea Lion show. The bitching won't end. I'm totally perplexed by this move. Edit: Just looked around social media and everyone is now bitching about Belugas, Dolphins, Sea Lions and the fact that the whales need to be released into sea pens to die. I really want to know what they just accomplished. These people will never stop. You could release all the animals you have and then they would bitch about you selling non vegan hot dogs.

I'm sure that's not even close to being true but honestly nobody would care if it was. None of the wood coasters at Kings Dominion are standouts but that is clearly the worst of the three. Grizzly is the only one we ever bother riding. -

That looks great. I've got to be honest. There are plenty of reasons to be jealous of anyone who lives in Orlando and while you don't think of it very often, Fun Spot should be high on that list. Where else can you be out grocery shopping and randomly be like "Hey let's go ride a great coaster on the way home" and be back in the. At 10 minutes later. Plus the park is open every day all year until Midnight. I love Fun Spot and I'm jealous of everyone that lives near it. I wish we had something like that. -

I'm a Laff Trakk fan, though right now it's generating obscene wait times. I'd happily wait a good half hour for it though, it's fun!
