I adore Gatekeeper but when I think Gatekeeper I don't think airtime personally. I love the coaster to death though, I never got the hate for it. The first drop might be my first drop on any steel coaster in the world and the keyholes are amazing. -

I305 ran amazing on preview day when it was 40 degrees exactly (which we know because we had to wait for it to warm up before they could open it... which of course we did by riding the log flume when it was 39 degrees). I wouldn't blame the temps. It might just not be your cup of tea. I don't really think of airtime when I think of I305. It has plenty but the restraints take away from that element of the ride. The reason I love I305 is because of the relentless laterals and insane transitions. -

That really looks amazing. I can't wait until my first visit this season. It's going to be so cool walking by that incredible looking structure on my way to Millennium Force first thing in the morning. Excellent shots! -

I wish they would have done away with those dated orange floodlights on Raptor but otherwise everything looks amazing. Great to see the park lit up again. -

You're not making sense. - I never said water slides weren't popular. I said that they weren't comparable to Log Flumes because they serve a different purpose. The water slides have nothing to do with this conversation and neither does the water park. - Find me a Log Flume that isn't immensely popular. You yourself mentioned an hour wait. Busy parks absolutely have hour waits for their flumes on a daily basis (cough... Great Adventure). I don't know of a flume that's not an immensely popular attraction. Yes... flumes came out in the 60's and they're still ridiculously popular, timeless rides in every park that has one. If I'm stuck in the 60's then you'll find huge lines of people at every log flume that are stuck there right along with me. I like the Phoenix too... does that mean I'm stuck in the 40's? No it means I appreciate great, timeless rides. And again... chill out. My tone was incredibly sarcastic. It's a theme park message board, relax and have fun. -

1) Shoot the Rapids wasn't a log flume. Shoot the Rapids was a piece of crap that couldn't float and had anti-rollbacks that allowed the train to rolled back and tried to drown people. The original (which was a log flume) was replaced when they already had a better log flume and their last Log Flume was replaced by one of the best coasters on earth which (I'm sorry) won't be coming to Valleyfair any time soon. That being said the park needs a replacement for the Log Flume. The park understood this which is why the built Shoot the Rapids, it just didn't pan out. 2) They're proposing a new flume, not an aging one like the one at Adventureland. Personally I don't like what Adventureland did but they're landlocked with few options. I've already discussed this in that thread. What's being proposed here is a new flume to replace a piece of crap splash boat ride which would be state of the art and immensely popular. 3) My post had more than a hint of sarcasm to it. Stop taking everything so seriously all the time... that being said, Log Flumes are some of the most popular amusement park rides ever conceived with mass appeal and every park should have one. Especially because the other options all soak you which people only want on incredibly hot days as opposed to a log flume that will basically always have a long line when the temps are anywhere from the high 60's on up and will still get riders even below that. -

You probably thought I wouldn't find you because you're in the Valleyfair thread, a park I sincerely don't care about but I heard someone was talking crap about flumes so never fear, I've arrived... Your opinion is bad and you should feel bad So wait, the fact that flumes pull HOUR waits on hot days even with turntables and pretty decent capacity means they shouldn't get one? Flumes have mass appeal. Everyone from families to thrill seekers loves them. You're like the only person that doesn't like log flumes... that's why they have hour waits. That's why every park needs one. A better ride that appeals to more people. A Log Flume would probably be better than more than half the coasters at Valleyfair. Take Dorney for example... the Log Flume is easily within the top 3 rides at that park (with a similar coaster lineup). Easily... and it's better than all of their coasters except Talon. Such is the beauty of the log flume. The reason nobody likes splash boat rides and drenching water rides is because usually people want to cool off without getting completely soaked and wave pools are not comparable to log flumes because they serve a different purpose. People don't want to go go the car, change into a bathing suit, buy a locker and jump in a pool when they could ride a log flume and have a much better time. Flumes have hour waits because they're awesome and every park should have one. I trust you've now seen the error of your ways. -

There's no rope drop for early entry at any gate. The lines move very fast though once the gates open. -

Great report (though surprised by your opinion of I305 which is overrated but for me is still a top 10 ride). It's a shame you missed Flight of Fear, the KD version seems to be much better. Oh wait no Shenandoah Lumber Company... report sucks, 0/10 -

They are the single crappiest flying Scooters I've ever ridden. Absolutely, bar none, undisputed worst pieces of crap ever. If you can snap those you're a legend. I don't know I think you'd have better luck with a crappy Larson though by the sounds of it the guy above me is much better than I am. The only ones I'm able to snap are at KD, Carowinds and of course Knoebels.
