  1. Are you interested in buying it? lol. I was surprised to see it for sale to be honest but I think it's been for sale for awhile now and in the meantime Bowcraft is still operating it. It's not a bad little ride.
  2. Maybe cause it was still spring break week? I have no clue, but when I walked by nitro and El Toro today the lines were almost out to the entrance of the queues. I love those rides but no chance I'm waiting that long. Weather played a role too I'm sure. Today's forecast is awful so many people probably went yesterday instead. And on that note, Six Flags is closed today. Go to Knoebels instead.
  3. The Twister crew was ridiculous. Even the line spilling out the entrance was only 20 minutes. They had trains waiting to dispatch every time and they had to stand there and wait to send it so they wouldn't block stop it from dispatching too fast. Phoenix crew was great too but they only had one train because they were working on the transfer track and work isn't quite done yet. Tons of re-tracking on both coasters (not that they needed it). Ride Count Impulse 1x Twister 1x StratosFEAR 1x Haunted Mansion 1x Flyers 1x Flying Turns 1x Phoenix 2x We didn't have time for the chairlift, paratrooper, Black Diamond, Skooter, Caesari's or Downdraft Still a great day though! And those Piergoeis...
  4. The greeter was probably abducted. Aliens can be real dicks sometimes.
  5. Looks like that could be the spot of the disappointing 2017 attraction they probably have in the works ...or a crappy haunt maze
  6. The crowds you're describing are not typical of a Saturday in April. Lines around 25 to 45 mins for Toro, 20 for Nitro and 10-20 for Diablo are more typical. Maybe they had a lot of groups but I don't mind visiting on Saturdays. It sounds like today was busier than normal.
  7. Yup. They're open an extra hour because of the crowds and because it took so long to get the wristbands because they're Knoebels and that's how they roll. Crowds are much more manageable now. Having an awesome day!
  8. Yeah the other train doesn't seem to be here. Here's the Twister line out the entrance (which never happens). Edit: because of the crowds and because of how long it took to get the handstamps Knoebels is keeping the rides open another hour. When it comes to customer service they're just showing off at this point.
  9. I would think this might be the busiest day in Knoebels history. Phoenix is absolutely rolling trains with 20 second dispatches but this is the line, probably 45 mins. Spilling out the entrance, back to the gift shop then back to Gasoline Alley
  10. Half the world is here. Line for wristbands is back to Impulse. Just buy tickets.
  11. ^ This. It seems like Haunted Mansion has a non working Vortex tunnel room but I'm not 100% sure.
  12. I don't know, you could have a drinking game and get pretty wasted every time someone responds to basically anything they post on Facebook talking about how their family "WILL NOT" be renewing their passes until they "put Thunder Road back".
  13. Dorney Park: Where a 10 minute wait for the front row of a hypercoaster is "The most frustrating part of the night". If low temps were a problem and rides were running slow, one train ops were likely an attempt to make the trains as heavy as possible. Any vibration on Talon was likely caused by a near empty train. That happens sometimes when there's just about nobody on the ride (which is always... because Dorney). Also was my Mountain open? Low temps are not an excuse for not riding it
  14. No no, we know it's Quicktime. What I'm saying is Quicktime is a god awful player that should be beaten to the brink of death and then thrown over a cliff on fire.
  15. Did the Haunted Mansion used to have a vortex tunnel? I get the idea that it did but I'm not sure. If so it's probably much larger if you remove the non-working effect and have a square room, they could have put something there.
  16. So evidently Fright Fest is going through November 6th this year. With these bonus weekends I see no reason to go to Fright Fest ever again as the haunt attractions are truly terrible, but anyone looking to get their last rides on El Toro with no lines might want to look into November 12th or 13th. I don't expect major crowds on the 5th and 6th but it's Fright Fest so you never know. I wonder if they're moving Grape Adventure to the 12th and 13th. I wouldn't be surprised, it would make sense. PS: This may be old news.
  17. This question is impossible to answer. There are exceptions to every rule at every park. Some parks generally have excellent customer service (Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, Knoebels, Dollywood, Cedar Point), some are average (most Six Flags Parks, most Cedar Fair parks) and some are horrendous (Six Flags New England) but there are still exceptions everywhere. I've seen bad employees at Universal and great employees at Six Flags New England. It's obvious what parks really put a premium on these things though, but the Orlando parks also have an advantage because they're open all year and don't have to worry about seasonal staffing issues in the same way a park like Great Adventure or Kings Island does. In that case they'll probably hire just about anyone because they don't have much of a choice. Outside of Orlando though and the other year-round parks the regional parks that really stand out are Cedar Point, Dollywood and Knoebels. As much as hiring enthusiasts can be a problem Cedar Point manages to find tons of people who are "enthusiastic" but also great employees (aka: normal people with social skills).
  18. It depends on what you're into of course but if it were me I'd just go to Orlando Monday night and forget about Tampa. Actually I'd just stay in Orlando, the 2 are so close anyway. I do like Whiskey Joe's though if you're looking for a nice place in Tampa to sit and have a few drinks. I don't remember much about the food because honestly who cares?
  19. I agree that that strikes me as strange too but I'm no engineer so I'll stay out of this one.
  20. Tons of testing (including Valravn) on the webcams now. Gatekeeper, Raptor, Magnum, Valravn and a bunch of flats.
  21. I'm glad someone appreciates my hard work. Hershey's weather policy across the board is ridiculous. But there's a better park an hour and a half away that doesn't care at all.
  22. Larson flyers are very hard to snap and generally complete crap compared to the ones at parks like Carowinds, Kings Dominion and Knoebels.
  23. I normally don't care about overseas additions since it's unlikely that I'll ever ride these rides but good god that looks ridiculous...
  24. And in America we freak out if someone pulls out a cell phone...
