  1. These poll options are a joke, right?
  2. I was waiting to hear what house would go along the old Antarctica ride path. Kudos to them for not just reusing "Frostbite" from the last Busch house that replaced an ice themed, budget-cut dark ride.
  3. I agree that Blizzard River is ugly and sucks, but here are the queue times for the last week. It has great uptime and it's reasonably popular. Is there any actual reason that everyone wants this gone other than the fact that they don't personally like it? I agree that I'd love to see it die but I don't know if there's any reason to expect that it will.
  4. The issue with the "Get the low capacity rides out of the way" plan is that most coasters in this park have low capacity. I don't even think there's a clear ride that you should rope drop here. I could see the argument for going left and knocking out Pandemonium and Wicked Cyclone, I could see the argument for knocking out Superman and the mouse or I could see the argument for going right and knocking out Riddler, Joker and Batman while you're over there. I could also see the argument for adding Thunderbolt to any of those plans as it runs one 24 passenger train. No matter what you're going to wait in some painful lines. Personally, I'd get Flash Pass but if you're not I would probably do Superman, the mouse, Ridder, Joker and Batman in that order and just suck it up hard on Pandemonium but it's not like there's any real perfect plan here. Also, if you wait until it's too late to do Batman and people start leaving the waterpark then you're screwed. I'm looking at the waits right now and it's posting a 150 minute wait. Honestly, all of this looks awful. Get the Flash Pass. PS: Flashback was just posting 150 also but is now down to 5.
  5. There’s also an insane rental car shortage right now and prices are through the stratosphere in a lot of markets so factor that in too. Lol
  6. Gatekeeper opened last Sunday for part of the day and hasn’t opened since but it tests basically every afternoon. I have no clue what’s wrong with it, but my gut says that it’s not that big of a deal since it keeps testing for long periods of time.
  7. I get it, but since that ride is obviously the big draw it's still a totally unnecessary risk for a first-time visitor so that they can wait a few minutes less for Mystery Mine which still won't have much of a line if they rope drop Lightning Rod and then go straight there. That's just me though...
  8. I get why people say this but I've really evolved to the point where I think that if Lightning Rod is the big draw for you then that's where you should go first. It's not a reliable ride. If it opens for the first hour and then closes for the day and you miss it because you were at Mystery Mine you'll be kicking yourself. You should absolutely, 100% go to Lightning Rod first, then do Mystery Mine and Firechaser after that because of their low capacity. Lightning Rod is more reliable lately. You'll probably be fine but don't mess around either. If it's open, ride it.
  9. Update: The ride has been closed all day and there's a sign out front stating that it will not open today. If it's been testing consistently then that's great news though.
  10. "To promote social distancing we've made our event lineup absolutely terrible so nobody wants to go" ... easy, efficient, no need to mess around with reservations, they really are playing chess while the rest of the industry is playing checkers.
  11. I get it, they're closing off the path from the right side of the front gate back to Rock N Roller for staffing and the paths back to Afterburn. It sounds terrible, but I guess it's better than being closed. Maybe they'll under-promise and over-deliver? ... lol
  12. If you can make out legs from that far away you're better than me. lol
  13. Per queue times and the posts that I've seen, the ride opened on Sunday, ran for awhile, broke down at the base of the lift and hasn't opened since but it's been testing on-and-off the last few days. It's closed now and not testing.
  14. So a real estate developer bought the park and is clearing the prime real estate near the water so it's now just an empty lot with a nice boardwalk, slowly closing everything permanent and throwing up a few carnival rides that they can tow out of there in a few hours to reveal more empty, buildable lots? Sounds like the future of the park is looking bright! I'm sure Blue Streak will reopen in no-time.
  15. They're counting down the years until they get a new coaster.
  16. Did they not have mazes at all? Great Adventure had all of the outdoor mazes open, and they all sucked per-usual. Honestly they were maybe a little better than normal since the socially distanced groups made it so each of the 3 scare actors in each maze scared everyone.
  17. Anyone who thought that this park wasn't at-least attempting to reopen the ride ASAP this season doesn't know them very well. I feel like every time a ride has a major breakdown at Great Adventure it reopens faster than anyone expects it to.
  18. I'm not sure how it was in St. Louis, but I keep forgetting that Great Adventure didn't do "Fright Fest" last year. The end-product was pretty much exactly the same, crappy haunts and a ton of fog machines.
  19. This shouldn’t be a concern. The ride breaks down every few hours. The fact that the queue opened today means the ride is back to being as “open” as Dragster can get, which means open sometimes with like 5 breakdowns per day.
  20. If they don't do Haunt the shareholders should revolt but Dorney closed on the 4th of July holiday so who knows.
  21. I can't wait to see what five rides are open on Thursday nights.
  22. ^ If they put the webcam dead on it and they're running tests then I'm assuming it will open today barring some other insane breakdown which... probably I'm hesitant to answer this out of fear that it will derail the conversation but it's a legitimate question so... uh... here goes... It's impossible to know. The country (almost) as a whole seems to be pretty much over Covid. Numbers are rising quickly but anyone who wants a vaccine in America can get one within hours and rising numbers are of minimal concern to vaccinated people so the consensus seems to be that we're at the point now where there's seemingly no reason to cater to people who can get a vaccine within an hour if they want one but choose not to get it, and I think that's 100% the right approach. They don't want us to cater to them so why should we cater to them? If the UK goes through with reopening while numbers are surging (and it sounds like they will) then it seems like both countries are basically on the same page. International travel will resume when we all just accept the fact that this virus is never going away and the benefits of an international labor pool and tourism dollars are too much to turn down. I think we're close to that point, but it's hard to know when everyone will throw in the towel since it's going to be totally arbitrary and you really are running out of time. (And as for states putting travel advisories on other states, that's a political move. Zero people are going to listen to that, especially since it only applies to unvaccinated people who already don't care)
  23. I didn't mention that since it was awhile ago but I absolutely thought of the year that New Texas Giant threw and killed someone and RMC shut down all of their coasters following the incident, then the next day a Shoot The Rapids fell all the way back down the lift hill, flipped over and then held a boat full of people underwater in restraints that they couldn't get out of. It's a miracle nobody died from that.
  24. Maxair has yet to open for the season and Dragster is broken broken. Keep an eye on Gatekeeper, give up on those two.
