The Covered Bridge Festival is permanently leaving Knoebels. -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

So... one Kidding, lol. Glad you had fun. I'm on a bit of a terrible piss beer kick right now myself, hot weather does that to me. -
The most unreliable rides in the park (that matter... I didn't forget you, Cyborg) are Kingda Ka and Jersey Devil Coaster. Conveniently they're as far from each-other as humanly possible but I'd start at one of those since the only real strategy you need with Platinum Flash Pass is to make sure you ride those before they break.

Parc Asterix Discussion Thread

I don’t remember where we rode it. It was a piece of crap but it was a run-of-the-mill piece of crap. I expected worse. -
Parc Asterix Discussion Thread

When we rode this a few years ago we absolutely hated it. I hated Goudurix less, that’s how bad it was. This is awesome news. -
I don’t really think Platinum is necessary if you want to save money but I would buy some type of Flash Pass. Generally though if you reserve the ride as soon as you scan in to the previous ride (make sure you get scanned, sometimes it’s not right at the greeter), by the time you finish waiting in the station, ride the ride and walk over to the new ride it should be time to ride with the mid level Flash Pass. You can also take the opportunity to wait a few extra trains for a better row since you’re technically waiting for two rides at once anyway. You can also get the regular one and just ride Jersey Devil while waiting for other rides since it’s not on Flash Pass (though that could change, so check first).

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
coasterbill replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I’d like to see more confirmation on this but if it’s true I might actually go there (once they fix Gatekeeper). Despite all of my shit talking lately I do love this park, which is why it’s a shame to see it run like crap. -
Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread

Note that Six Flags St Louis and Silver Dollar City will still be open daily all summer because they’re a theme park company and of course they will. I’m not saying that they’re not facing labor shortages, but man this is starting to feel budget-cuty now that they’ve raised wages so much. -

Wow... that's actually all good news. Slow clap for Cedar Point. -
I’m very excited for this. We’ll absolutely be down to check out the new Magic Kingdom show at some point probably next year, and it also got me to buy tickets today for September to see Happily Ever After one last time if it doesn’t return. I’m sure the new show will be amazing and probably much better, but I love that show and want to see it again. God dammit I’m becoming a Disney Person™ and I hate myself for it.

That's what I do too. Half the time I drink beer, otherwise I just drink free water courtesy cups since it's free and better for me than soda anyway. Every once in awhile I'll want a kick of caffeine and order a coke, but whatever... it's 50% off with the DE pass and worth a few bucks every 2-3 visits to not have to carry the cup.

Elitch Gardens Discussion Thread
coasterbill replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree with that entirely. Elitch Gardens is an atrocious park. It has potential to be an "okay" park but it's so badly run. Lakeside is a total shithole but I found it to be a really fun shithole and they're open about being a shithole. If both coasters are open then it's fun at night. The wood coaster kind of sucks but Wild Chipmunk is the best coaster in Colorado so... fight me. lol Honestly, I like Lakeside. Expectations need to be set and it's totally weird but we had fun. As for Glenwood Caverns, yeah... everyone should go there. It's fantastic. I agree that nobody should go to Denver unless they're okay with like half of the coasters in the state being closed at any given time but on the flip-side it's a great city and it's Frontier's home airport so it's dirt cheap to fly there from basically anywhere if you don't mind flying them. People should go, but you're totally right that people need to manage their expectations for the parks. -
Quassy Amusement Park Discussion Thread

Did anyone know that this was a thing? We popped by yesterday for a few hours and saw the signs up everywhere but don’t see any announcement aside from the signs in the park: -
Am I the only one that doesn't get those? I get it with my drink plan but always throw it in the trash. I'd rather pay the extra money if I ever actually want soda than carry that unnecessarily large cup that doesn't fit in a locker around all day. Now I feel like I should get them and give them to people who care.

I don't want to alarm anyone but Six Flags is kind-of theming something. I'm grading on a curve, but I am impressed. Source: https://www.facebook.com/groups/sfgadvconnoisseurs Also this should be set back from the path because if it's actually made out of wood, everyone is going to scratch their names into it in 5 seconds. At no point should this park forget that they have the worst guests ever...
