  2. Man..............I'm so jealous. 4 houses at SFSTL, 4 of the same old houses they have had the last several years. All pretty generic, no IP. I totally get why they don't have the Christmas event anymore but FF is very popular and I really really wish they would make some improvements. Yeah it does! We just got a new park President this year so I am going to stay positive and give him the benefit of the doubt and hope improvements keep coming down the pike, particularly for FF, although that will have to be for next year. Why don't you tell Jeffrey to give our guy a call and do some mentoring, lol.

  4. sooperdooperLooper is one of my favorite coasters at Hershey and I also really liked Laser at Dorney so when I moved from PA to FL, I was glad that Scorpion was here so I still could ride a Schwarzkopf looper frequently. It's sad to see it being removed. I agree less than 2 weeks notice is not good. For anyone non local, it doesn't give them much of a chance to get their final rides in.

  5. I'm a little torn on this expansion, on one hand I don't mind them removing Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America but I don't love the Cars property, especially in Frontierland? Thematically I don't really know how it's going to fit, but also I don't know if anyone even cares about that kind of stuff anymore. I will miss the ambiance of the river and that area in general, but if this turns into a lushly forested Grizzly Peak/Wilderness Lodge type area with a killer attraction then I don't think anyone will really miss it. Also after years of them teasing "what's beyond thunder mountain?" it seems kind of obvious now that that to even get to the land plots beyond you have to go straight through Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer's Island so I guess this shouldn't be that surprising.

  7. Yet another "Hey, can I copy your homework? I'll change it up a little so they don't know!" approach for a Harry Potter land; a large gift shop with food and one ride. At least this time there's a legit show to see, I guess. Can anyone explain why they're still going full-bore into Potter? I enjoyed the HP books and movies but Fantastic Beasts has been, largely, a failure of the brand, not to mention JK Rowling's ongoing public image issues. It seems a bit strange to me that they're so fixated on this one IP when they have such a diverse portfolio to pull from for the parks. Do we really need a Potter variant in every park? I'm sure the ride will be fun but good gracious, variety is the spice of life.

  8. Just got a nice $12 ride on Mine Blower, and seeing as no one has said anything since it was partially retracked I figured I'd add my two cents. I would say from a smoothness perspective it's definitely improved as what were the worst spots on the ride are now totally smooth. A couple of the transitions to and from the new track cause a bit of a jolt and then obviously there still some areas of old track that it still kinda jackhammers through. But overall when the ride was over I wasn't checking various body parts to make sure they weren't broken in half like I used to do. That said, when it goes through the new steel track it squeals like crazy and it definitely slows the train down a bit, so the insane ejector in the back half of the ride isn't quite like it once was. So the speed and airtime was kind of sacrificed for comfort. Still a really awesome coaster but a bit tempered down from its heyday. Keep in mind there were four people on the entire train so maybe it runs better with more weight.

  11. Out of all the times I've been to the park I went on the boat once and didn't find anything special about it. Rarely ever saw many people using Tom Sawyer Island too. They need more rides that take up a decent amount of people and the cars ride helps there. I love the cars franchise though. Also don't care if they eventually remove the hall of presidents either. I haven't been in there since I was a kid and I have 0 interest in ever sitting through it again.

  12. Apart from the Forum and the News section on the title page, the TPR website seems essentially frozen in about 2018. Has the old site essentially become an archive and is unlikely to get new content? If so, then it might be a good idea to put up a note telling site non-regular visitors that. I might be a little old-fashioned regarding the Interwebz, but I don't really use the big social media platforms (apart from youtube), so it took me a while to figure out that there is quite a bit of new stuff to find, other than the YT-videos.

  13. HOOOOLLLYY SHIT! Severely strained MCL and bruised bone. It likely will not heal on its own for a long time, so I got a steroid shot in my knee, I'm prescribed anti inflammatory medications for ten days, and a healthy dose of physical therapy. I can get on my skates in as early as a week, as long as I take it easy... which is going to be difficult with my personality. The doctor told me it looks like I dodged a bullet. He said it pretty much just wasn't healing on its own and that when it finally did, my muscles would have been imbalanced unless corrected with a longer period of physical therapy than I have now. That horse needle on that massive shot tho... holy shit. I took it like a boss though. I called off work tonight since I'm supposed to take it easy for the rest of the day. My Lieutenant didn't give a shit. He was just happy I won't be out for six months. Hopefully, I'll feel strong on my skates again soon. I'm very relieved and thankful. It makes me realize at nearly forty years out that I need to dial it back a little. This could have been much worse.
