  1. Good news and bad news. I'm up 4 pounds (to 201) from the beginning of December. While I'd like to believe it's muscle from the strength training I've been doing, it's more likely from a combination of laying on my ass for two weeks while I had COVID/all the holiday snacks I've eaten. But I'm down 9 pounds since the start of 2020 (When I weighed 210). And some people have told me I look like I've dropped 50 pounds in the past 2 years, though I doubt I ever got up that high.

  2. 1.1.21 Update. Looks like a good piece of the guide rail was replaced/repaired as well.

  3. Ideal: Carowinds spring & summer, WDW fall, KD Halloween. Realistic: Planet Coaster & Youtube. I'll be happy if it's safe enough to visit *any park* at least once before 2022. Fingers crossed.

  4. I'm planning on doing some sort of weight management after the new year too! My main goal is to go at least the month of January without drinking and to watch my sugar consumption during that time. Alcohol and sweets/snacks are my main pitfalls. I'll probably try to drink La Croix or something similar in the evenings as a replacement. For eating, I'll probably try counting calories again using MyFitnessPal. I also want to exercise but I prefer exercising outdoors and my success will depend a lot on the weather.

  5. I'm just happy for all the terrible Disney anti-fan boys who will have something to complain about once the park reopens!

  6. Besides COVID, which I HOPE will be less of an issue between the vaccine rollout and parks seeming like they did a pretty decent job adhering to protocols, (people maybe less so but I will keep my distance and they will just have to live with it) 2021 is gunna be a crazy year for me...I finally finish my Masters and thus may end up anywhere in the country! But my plans are this: 1: FL and back road trip: KD, Carowinds, BGT, Orlando, BGW, SFGAdv. 2: IL and back road trip: Hershey, Kennywood, KI, SFGreatAmerica, CP, Knoebels. This will depend on when the 2021 rides open of course. 3: I hope to squeeze in Dollywood. Has to be a solo trip. I'd like to think all of this is realistic! Long as the parks are open, and vaccine is out I plan to do all this, and will of course self isolate and etc as needed. But yeah barring them being closed, I fully intend to do it all. I kind of hope to move to California post grad, if so I will probably just make trip 1 part of my drive out there. Totally not a coaster addict or anything not at all! Its totally sane to think how you can work parks into possible life events LOL

  7. Well....first I am hoping and praying to return to my dream job of playing piano at WDW, a job I held for 21+ years. If that happens (hopefully spring-ish), here are my plans: IDEAL: CoasterStock at KI in May. I planned on going last year but...well...you know. CoasterMania! at Cedar Point in early June. Already booked my Breaker's Hotel room! Fingers crossed Denver in mid June to graduate with my master's degree from Univ. of Denver. And since I'm there, Lakeside, Elitchs (if it's still open) and MAYBE a trip up to Lagoon before flying back home. Virginia maybe July-ish. Need to get to BGW and KD to ride their new stuff! Cleveland in August for my nephew's wedding. Which means more CP (I do have a Platinum Pass!) October Knott's Scary Farm/Disneyland REALITY Putting it out there for the universe to hear me! Make it happen! AND WEAR A F*CKING MASK!!!!!!!!

  8. IDEAL: UK / Europe for 11 days in early August (We've already moved that trip like 3 times) California in September (I actually have more faith in being able to fly to another continent in August than California opening anything in September because... California) Maybe we'll finally go to Silver Dollar City but I say that every single year Canada's Wonderland just as an excuse to get the hell out of this country REALISTIC: Orlando because Florida doesn't care if we die Orlando again because Florida doesn't care if we die Orlando again because Florida seriously, seriously, seriously doesn't care if we die

  9. Magic Mountain has hired the same lighting designer since 2013 right after Full Throttle opened. He was responsible for the "updated/improved" Holiday in the Park that started in 2014 and has been doing lighting design for all of the seasonal events and shows. He's also done work for many other places around Los Angeles, including working on a project in a galaxy far far away. Needless to say he's a talented dude and when he gets an appropriate budget he can do some really amazing things, and even at Six Flags where the budget is always really tight he finds ways to make every last dollar count. *Disclaimer: I am friends with him so I may only be a little biased, but he's genuinely a good dude who is passionate about his job.

  10. Dude. I'd totally pay $20 to drive my Subaru through the park, even at 2 mph.
