  2. Hey everyone! I went to Six Flags Great Adventure yesterday, and on the way home I went to Coney Island on whim to check out the progress on the new rides. Also, I snagged credits for Phoenix & SkyFlyer at Deno's. The roller coaster (Tony's Express) is mostly done and the log flume (Leti's Treasure) still needs plenty of work. The pieces that still need to be installed are sitting right next to it, next to a bunch of construction equipment. Here are some photos I took:

  3. Right. I don't really understand what you're not understanding. When faced with a decision between investing in something that has no meaningful competition of any kind or investing in something that has major competition on the way right down the street and is cheaper to invest in anyway, there's really not much to think about.

  4. It used to be my absolute favorite thing at all of Disney World, but I'm not sure how much of it has changed post covid. Assuming the parade and fireworks are back, and trick or treating, and they keep the capacity limits low like they used to it should be worth a trip.

  5. I can’t even make sense of what this argument is about, but everyone really needs to chill out.

  6. Hi - it's me again. Took the little guy yesterday. Park was EMPTY which was nice. Actually had 2 walk-on rides on Daredevil Dive. I'd forgotten how much fun that ride is, as the line is usually miserable so I skip it. I finally got to ride Catwoman Whip, which was okay. Not as good as the Wheelie was, but maybe that's because I'm old. I'm really grateful that my kid is a daredevil, and will ride anything he can....but he decided Blue Hawk / Ninja is his favorite ride there. The new trains and track work make it tolerable and okay for a ride every once in a while.....but a mini-marathon on it almost killed me. I remember being a kid and being able to ride the roughest rides around with no problem. I sometimes feel like a kid on the inside, but my body is reminding me today that I am certainly one no longer.

  7. Last time I was at BGT folks in line were asking if the ride broke down between every cycle because every ride crew was that lazy. Both BGT & BGW have such incredible rides and park atmosphere yet the soul is dead and the newer attractions are an afterthought beyond the ride track. But hey they're still crazy fun new rides?!

  8. Not sure if I just got super spoiled by being at Universal for 5 days, but damn is this place miserable. Log Flume closed, Rapids closed, Skyride closed, coasters either running 1 train or the ones with multiple are stacking the crap out of them. There are 3(?) air conditioned restaurants in the whole park but the layout of this place blows so it's a 10+ minute walk to get anywhere. Currently in a full queue for Zambia Smokehouse which is at least out of the sun but not really any cooler. I can't believe this is the same park company as Williamsburg. If i didn't have quick queue I would've left already. The food situation is almost making me want to leave anyway. Willamsburg has food every 5 feet, this place has like 7 food places and two of them are Chik-fil-a so out of luck with that today. Even with the great coaster lineup I can't see myself driving back here on my next Orlando trip. Like I said, maybe I got too spoiled by Universal because I didn't really my night at enjoy Magic Kingdom either. But this is the second major park in a row that I've been to where I keep saying I'd rather be at Great Adventure right now. Anyway, I'm about half done with the coaster lineup so far. Started with Iron Gwazi in front, great ride but kind of underwhelming compared to Steel Vengeance or even Velocicoaster but will ride in back later as I hear that is the better seat. Cheetah was actually really good and if they got the soft straps then it would be close to elite. No one will confuse it for Maverick but I really liked it. Rode Montu in the back right. The Batwing was insane but this is another one I probably played up too much in my head as I think I prefer Banshee and Raptor. Cobra's Curse was excellent, not much spinning but super fun and unique. Rode Kumba in the back right and yeah...insane. Zero G roll and cobra roll are batshit and it really carries a lot of speed right to the end. It shuffles quite a bit and is a headache inducer but the ride is so insane that it's worth going back to later. Currently 20 minutes into the Smokehouse line and finally starting into the final switchback where it is hot as hell, so, if I don't pass out, hope to report back on Sheikra, Scorpion, and back of Iron Gwazi!

  9. Canada's Wonderland does play the Canadian National Anthem around the time the park does open, but it may not always be heard depending on noise and if the speakers at the front gate are working properly. The flags displayed on the entrance represent the 13 provinces and territories in Canada. The other flags at the entrance to the Grande World Exposition of 1890 section off of International Street are replica flags of countries from a long time ago based on the ones that attended World Expositions around that time. Sure, the park could erect an American flag, but they never have in the 41 years of operation despite being owned by American companies throughout its whole existence. Many people know it is and has always been American owned, so having a flag or not having a flag makes no real difference in my opinion.
