  1. I get why enthusiasts make jokes about rides like these or Cedar Point's Pipe Scream that but since my son started riding things I've been a lot more forgiving on the naming. He sees it's called a coaster and that makes him think he's rode a roller-coaster then who am I to correct him. Nah, I'm totally kidding. I'm an enthusiast and obviously correcting people on this takes priority. He rode one of those powered double helix coasters at Seoul Land and was happy to have rode his first roller-coaster. I sat him on my knee and gave him a 15 minute lecture on why it didn't count as a 'credit' and he couldn't tell his friends that he rode a roller-coaster. He cried but lessons were learned and he said he doesn't want to ride roller-coasters anymore so at least he won't make that mistake ever again.

  2. Oh come on now. Pick 15 Six Flags rides that are past their prime or never should have been purchased in the first place is a fun game. If they didn't want us to play, they would have given us the list. We should get prizes if we can guess them all correctly.

  3. I keep hearing “Super Loops” thrown around and I’d love to hear the justification for why Six Flags would want to remove a reasonably popular flat ride that they just bought a million of that basically never break down and don’t require much staffing. I’d imagine the justification is “I don’t like them because they called them coasters”.

  4. That’s correct. If you’re in the state for less than 24 hours you’re perfectly in compliance with the quarantine but be warned that if you’re there for 24 hours and one second you’re not and you’ll be subject to penalties and fines of up to $0

  5. I have not seen poor little Deja Vu since that slow loading unreliable piece of crap left Magic Mountain. it sounds like renaming it Goliath and moving it across the country to SFNE didn't fix its reliability issues? If that is true, it is possible that moving Green Lantern First Flight to La Ronde will not make it a good coaster either. Shocking!

  6. While I do think that MM is removing Tidal Wave and maybe not a coaster, is being the first park to 20 coasters something anybody outside the marketing department is even remotely interested in? For whatever reason I seem to see this stated as fact from time to time, but it seems like nothing more than a tagline along with the other 15 "world records" parks feel they need to celebrate with each new addition. They're studying cost vs popularity of each ride here to reduce maintenance costs and free up money. I don't think that formula includes whether or not it gets them to some magic number of coasters. Maybe I'm wrong but I think having 20 coasters is on the long list of things only enthusiasts care about but they insist everyone else does too.

  7. LOL seriously? That list means nothing...even NJ's COVID numbers qualify it for its own "travel advisory" list now. There are no teeth behind it, either. Delaware's presence on that list didn't stop me, or any of the other attendees with license plates from "banned states" I saw in the lot, last weekend. I'm all for compliance with reasonable measures regarding COVID, but the notion that just because you're from state X means your a danger is elitist idiocy at its finest, especially now that NJ and NY meet that threshold but residents are are still "allowed" to travel between each other.

  8. It wasn’t short lived, they just sent it to La Ronde as part of a La Ronde prank war that they’ve since lost to Magic Mountain.

  10. From what I was able to find after a ton of googling, the minimum operating temperature the park will operate their coasters is 38 degrees. However, that isn't taken directly from a park publication... So I'd take it with a grain of salt.

  12. ^ Magic Kingdom has been running indoor shows for months (only because they haven’t found a way to layoff or furlough animatronics yet) with masks and social distancing and there have been no cases traced back to their parks or any theme parks since reopening... Personally I think It’s great to see shows returning. Some of them already have capacity issues though so hopefully they have some unique solutions so people don’t have to show up hours early on weekends...

  14. I am excited to try Orion next summer, hopefully. I have thoroughly enjoyed every B&M Hyper/Giga I've ridden, but I can also see how Orion may fall short in some areas. It has definitely received some polarizing reviews. Regardless, whether it's "meh" or amazing, it really looks great. The color scheme, area, and theming seems very nice.
