HowieP
Finally made it to California this year and I did Disneyland as well, but first Santa Monica Pier and Pacific Park. First I did the Third Street Promenade. Getting this at where I work. Already have this at where I work! Now I'm on my way to the Pier! MADE IT! And what I came to do. The pirate ship. Scrambler. Solar-powered ferris wheel! And the main reason why I came to Pacific Park; to try out West Coaster! Up the lift! Passing by. In the station. Rounding the second helix. Returning to the station. They actually give you two circuits! They better as small as the track length is! Up close and personal! A view of the Pacific Ocean. Frog Hopper. Plane ride. Beach! Some more of the boardwalk. More boardwalk. Pizza Hut Express and Taco Bell Express next to each other! More food! Bumper Cars. Back end of Pacific Park. Performer on the boardwalk. Oh yeah! The end of Route 66. The park and boardwalk from the beach. Mountains in the distance. Downtown Santa Monica. Another performer near the boardwalk. The historic carousel from 1922, still in operation. There is a soda bar there which served me a chocolate egg cream which was great! Below next to the boardwalk is more souvenir shops and restaurants. The aquarium which is next to the boardwalk. Another view of Pacific Park. Yours truly on the beach in front of Pacific Park.
XYZ
Nice PTR. I need to go to Pacific Pier one day since I live less than 2 hours from it.
Jew
Great TR. Santa Monica Pier is a place that could really use another big ride. If I remember right, they still have one section of the pier still used as parking they could tap into.
805Andrew
The Santa Monica Pier is definitely under-utilized. If they could add a coaster like an Eurofighter or some unique flats it wouldn't take up too much space and people would line up to ride. It's too bad a park (if you can call it a park) in such a nice setting is represented by a helix coaster with no real drop and a few mediocre flats. They're not taking full advantage of the LA market and tourism and are only the third best beachside park in CA, and CA only has 3 beachside parks. gisco
It is one of those places I have been to once but probably never go back.
Meteornotes
^Yeah, I can't imagine I'll ever get back there unless they add a major attraction. I'd much rather go to SCBB. Â dt
John Peck
The Solar Powered Ferris Wheel is pretty cool. It's a shame that Solar Power in the United States only counts as 0.2% of energy.
AllenA07
One of my favorite places!
