Nrthwnd
Great showing of stuff, Chuck! I do like the Drive-In set up. Can go either horror or teen scene 1950s, right? That said, I've been collecting these 'cups' from this Asian supermarket franchise called T & T Supremarket in Vancouver. In the bakery area, and usually with a cake/pudding/topping combo on/in them. For $5.50 Cdn. I was hooked. So this is the newest one, yet to be placed within my decorating empire in the house, LOL. And with an Angry Birds ring, too! Cool!!! DoinItForTheFame
Every year we spend thousands... creating a light show on our house... Causing hundreds of thousands of people to drive by our house and tune their radio to the appropriate station to enjoy the lights synchronized to the music. We have already started the programing for our 2016 light show. It takes about 20 hours of programming per song and we have 38 songs we are doing... It's going to be a long year before next Christmas. However it is all worth it to know that there is someone out there who is enjoying something they couldn't do for themselves. Nrthwnd
Kitchen window is now ready to show! Looking down the way, all TPR ornaments are there, and.... ....Until you get to the last spot - nothing is there! I feel so sad and un-fulfilled. How we do our back kitchen window every season. But wait! Something has arrived! It's The Lost Ornament.... and lip balm. Cool! So now it's found it's spot. And the kitchen window decorations are complete. (o: (EDIT TO ADD: Or so I thought...) Do you have a video of it? I love those kinds of displays! Not my house, but one I've visited the past few years. There were definitely more people there this year! Then I realized they actually won an episode of The Great Christmas Light Fight last year! It's quite amazing, and Disney fans should really appreciate it! We tried counting all 101 Dalmations but we got to 50-something and couldn't find more. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
Nrthwnd
In the "Post Your Christmas Tree" thread, there's a mention of a "sort of" coaster themed decoration, with LEDs and various carols played as the train goes round and round and....it's a Larson Loop, right? Couldn't resist. Checked on it's availability up here in Canada. Found our local Home Depot had them, and this morning I went there and picked one of the (then) several available. I might check the place again after this coming weekend and see if the Drop Tower (only it and coaster were available) is still available, and maybe marked down, etc. And in US Dollars, it's cheaper up here than down there! Under the tree, for now. All the lights work, the sound is fine, and the "coaster" goes round and round and..... (o;
Nrthwnd
Just picked this up, at the Hallmark shop in The Mall, and remembering I must check this place out more after-the-holiday seasons. Anyhoo... And - now after The Day - 75% off! Hmmm. I may go back and buy a couple more at this sale price. And it has sound too. Mostly dialogue, few coaster 'sounds' but that's ok. I mean, it's Walley World! (And this ornament too. Also 75% off! And of course, it has sound with... what else?)

XII
My Christmas decorations came down right before New Years Eve. Christmas stuff in January is one of my pet peeves.
Band-Aid
I LOVE Christmas and everything about it, and to me the Holiday Season STARTS on December 26th every year However I will take the decorations down to be courteous to my neighbors (and so the Scrooges at the Homeowners Association won't fine me)
cfc
My Christmas decorations came down right before New Years Eve. Christmas stuff in January is one of my pet peeves. I usually remove them in phases starting on January 2 or 3: tree, outside lights, Christmas village.
Nrthwnd
Finally got all of our stuff down, today. Except the cards. The cards are always last to come down. Ohhh....darnit. Read it wrong. Um... ACTUALLY ~ Maybe, the original message should be adjusted to include decorations being put up. Besides being (eventually) taken down.
Nrthwnd
Got a new little string of lights today. Very strange lights. The string itself isn't very long, so I figured it would work over the entry from to the kitchen from the hallway. And it did! But, whatever the "sequence" this light set had, it definitely has gone out of "Cinque" in interesting ways. The two in the middle seem to be very independent and don't want to go with the rest of the sequence. Bad lights. Anyway, it's a cute little string, and it may stay up there through the Season. Little Disco Balls, they are... Which do change colours, too! Battery charged. Works for me. (o;
Nrthwnd
And the main elements of the Living Room, (The Tree and Mantle), are done. And the kitchen back window is done, although I didn't put any lights up in it. Didn't take too long. I lost a Pride Ornament, though, in the kitchen set up. Oh well, now I have 3 of them, which is probably for the best, me and my 'numbers thing'. The fireplace mantle, adorned for De HollyDaze! The tree's looking pretty good this time round, I felt. For an artificial tree (Go Nature!).
Nrthwnd
I love lights inside of the house, so here's a few shots of some "lit decorations" for the Holiday Season... A nifty simple string of lights. Another string of light up bulbs, in the living room. Ah, Paris! Joyeux Noël! Bonne année!
DoinItForTheFame
Are your Christmas decorations still up? Have they been taken down yet? Our Christmas Decorations are still up. The light show runs through the first of the year, and after that we will spend about 3 weeks taking decorations down. Then to start programming, and preparing for next years show! DoinItForTheFame
Ours are still up. But it's not much to deal with. Ours are about 65% down at this point. - When we have time to take them down the weather isn't being our friend... And when the weather is good... We don't have the time. - Everything *SHOULD* be down this coming weekend!

Nrthwnd
We have LED lights above our front porch. But after Christmas, I just left the holiday string up with the rest. Looks great, every evening! And I agree ^ with what you're thinking about doing. Others in our block have done the same.
Nrthwnd
With a bit more "open space" in the front yard area, we bought a couple more strings of lights and a few yard things, like candy canes and snowflakes, etc. Didn't turn out too bad, considering we hadn't done in front of the porch for years! A mess of new lights. Planned chaos, lol. How it looks from the sidewalk. A bit closer up. Still fuzzy.
