Henry M Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Many people do not know you can spell jail like gaol and it is completely correct! There are other ones like American people spell colour, color, and in my mind that just sounds like collar. Anyway, post your spelling confusions below, and the next person says how they would spell it and if they agree. I will start it off with gaol.
Nrthwnd Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 How about these... There - They're - Their and Your - You're - Yore (Days of) and The knights are here. Plural noun. The knight's sword. Singular possession. The knights' round table. Plural possession. and Color - Colour Theater/Center - Theatre/Centre My 7 cents.
coasterbill Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Most people on this website can't spell for sh*t. I think you're asking the wrong people.
Nrthwnd Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 ^ Oh well, ya gotta have Faith, some times. By the way. Where's Faith? Badda Bing!
Henry M Posted June 25, 2016 Author Posted June 25, 2016 Do you spell rollercoaster: Rollercoaster or Roller coaster?
viking86 Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Wander and wonder seems to be a bit of a challenge... I'm also puzzled by the amount of times I see people write break instead of brake, is it really that difficult??
DoinItForTheFame Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Something everyone should learn when it comes to accept and except.
cal1br3tto Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 I'm also puzzled by the amount of times I see people write break instead of brake, is it really that difficult?? Sometimes, to make myself feel better, I pretend this actually makes sense. Like it's referring to "a break in the action/taking a break" or that something is technically "breaking" in a non-harmful sense. But that's just denial on my part. At least it's better than the countless enthusiasts who fail to use the word "ridden"...
GCI Wooden Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Wander and wonder seems to be a bit of a challenge...
Henry M Posted July 1, 2016 Author Posted July 1, 2016 Wander and wonder seems to be a bit of a challenge... Was that directed at me?
Nrthwnd Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Desert and Dessert. One is usually sweet. The other is usually....dry.
