Electerik
Spent a couple hours at Dollywood this morning, since the crowds don't generally show up until about noon on Sundays. And--aren't you folks lucky--I brought my camera! Dolly does the big themers one better, and makes you exit the park through retail! Alas, back to the real world.... Yay, a construction photo of Mystery Mine! Of course, there's not much to see yet. But still. Did I mention the trees? Here's arguably the smoothest and best Arrow looper in existence, the short but intense Tennessee Tornado. The best "on ride" photo I could get. As you can see, the animatronics are very "Knott's-ish." Blazing Fury is an indoor darkride/powered coaster. It's also quite difficult to photograph. That didn't stop me from trying, though. One of the cool/funky things about Dollywood is the way buildings are just plopped down in the middle of midways. This is the Blacksmith shop. Daredevil Falls is well themed, nicely paced, and not too wet. The drop's not bad, either. Sky Rider looks cool, but it's pretty darn dull. You can move those wing things around with a lever, but it doesn't actually do much. Smoky Mountain River Rampage. I got nothin'. Dollywood has a lot of trees. Rockin' Roadway is in there somewhere, too. I wasn't allowed in here, since I was Sad and Pathetic today. Timber Tower remains closed. That's okay, I wasn't too impressed by it anyway. The area is nice, though. First stop was Thunderhead. And it was running very well! Good air, and no roughness--even in the back seat. Dollywood's "Butterfly" flowerbed and Main Entrance. Jon Sabo
great photos. Â *Best management decision at most parks??? Â -Adding/installing those air-conditioned-type fans! I recently seen one of those at DK-que (BGE) and it's amazing how much cooler the guests are on a hot and humid day. It actually makes guests less irritable while they wait..lol

pgathriller
Nice Photo TR. The first picture you posted shows the cleanest entrance to a park I have ever seen in my life! I went to Dollywood when they opened the Thunderhead and ever since then they have added so many cool things that I will be going again next year. I cant wait! So why is the Timber Tower closed? Didn't it open when Dollywood opened? I remember the first time I went to Dollywood I waited for 2 hours to ride Rockin Racewy. My grandma ended up riding and went crazy because she doesn't drive and she thought the car was going to go off the track. The funniest thing you will ever see at a theme park is a 70 year old lady screaming like crazy on a slow car ride! Â * Advice* Â When at Dollywood, do not ride all the water rides in the morning knowing there will be no sun all day. I did, I stayed wet all day, very uncomfortable. I came out with wet shoes and socks and really painful feet.

Electerik
So why is the Timber Tower closed? Didn't it open when Dollywood opened? Â It opened about a week late, and it's been having lots of downtime so far. Supposedly, they're waiting for a part from Germany at the moment. martinb
Dollywood does look like a very nice park. Â I've always anted to og to a park on my own, so I can just do what I like, when I like and how I like. Â So is it 100% confirmed that hte new coaster will be a Euro-Fighter? havenli
Le sigh. Â Dollywood's been my home park my entire life, up until I moved to NC just a month ago. I don't miss TN at all, but I sure do miss the park. It's so cheesy, but I LOVE Blazing Fury. And Slidewinder has got to be the GREATEST non-coaster ride in existence. Â While I usually don't like theme park shows, I highly recommend that everyone go see "Heartsong" if you ever visit Dollywood. Trust me, it WILL surprise you.
