robbalvey Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 So Google has just released "Beta Version 3" of their Google toolbar for IE. Personally, this is the ONLY type of IE add-on I use and I find myself using it all the time. The most recent version now has a SPELL CHECKER for forums! Some of you really, really need this! Check it out: http://toolbar.google.com/T3/index --Robb
Shadowforce Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 Someone really ought to make this as an extension for Firefox. I try to spell properly all the time, but sometimes, minor mistakes slips trough.
Real Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 Ive got one even better Robb IE users: http://www.iespell.com/ FireFox Users: http://spellbound.sourceforge.net/ Make sure you read instructions for Spellbound, its tricky to install but works great. You dont even need a toolbar. Just write your text, highlight it with the mouse, right click and spell check!
pvcoasterguy Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 Or, just type it, paste it into Word, spell check, and paste it back into the fourm... easier that way.
Real Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 Or, just type it, paste it into Word, spell check, and paste it back into the fourm... easier that way. The way I posted is a million times easier than that. You dont have to open up anything else, just type in whatever box you are using, highlight, spell check. Couldnt be simpler, plus no hassle with Word or switching between programs.
robbalvey Posted April 3, 2005 Author Posted April 3, 2005 ^ That's pretty much what the Google one does too. You just type your forum post as normal, hit the spell check button, and it highlights mistakes. It's GREAT! --Robb "So there's no excuse for crappy posts!" Alvey

Jose Eber Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Here's a fourth: buy a Mac. My laptop automatically highlights incorrectly spelt words. If I make a mistake, I ctrl click on the underlined word and a pop-up appears of all possible matches. Wow, Macs CAN be useful! Ain't that special
