benzo41190 Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Yesturday I went to Mt Olympus with a friend. When we got there, there were no crowds and everything was open. Later on in the day, my friend Matt lost his glasses on Hades. Ill let the pics explain....... The photos were taken with my video camera
shesaidboom Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Opa looks much different than I was expecting. I knew it was a spinning mouse, but I didn't think it would be themed to mice. I thought it would be themed to plates or something. I hope the crowds are just as small when I'm there at the end of the week!
pvcoasterguy Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 I like the "It's WI law" scribbled with Sharpie onto the Cyclops sign. Nice. Anyway, Opa! looks pretty good, and it has the new funky lap bars from Zamperla. How was Hades/the new stuff? I'm going in two weeks, and am very excited. Cyclops' drop= x 1000 Nice TR!
Jew Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 Crouching underneath a height sign pretending you're too short? HIII-LAR-RIOUS. No one ever does that.
rollermonkey Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 Those are the first pictures of Opa I've seen. I'm disappointed. I thought that Mt. Olympus was going to get a custom model.
MSLSM Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 Nice TR, and I really want to get back to the park now that it is all open. Is the Parthenon still a big shed, or is their some themeing? When I went, only the ticket booth had a roman theme, so I want to know if it is getting better.
benzo41190 Posted May 29, 2006 Author Posted May 29, 2006 yeah, Opa was pretty good and it didnt sound like a shopping cart I mean the ride was so quiet and smooth. Ill finish the rest off the writing part now.... We got to the park around 11:00 PM and there was little crowds. Most off the people we saw were heading toward the water park area so the coasters had little crowds all day. Our first ride of the day, and the year, was Opa! We walked into the new area and there was a Moser drop ride and a crazy bus type ride. The line for Opa was about 3 min, mainly because there were only 3 trains on the track. After riding Opa and filming, we walked toward the other coasters. Our second coaster of the day was Cyclops. When we walked up to the station, there was only 2 other people there and they were in the front. So me and Matt walked to the last seat, last car and waited for some other people to get in. The ride was great as always and very smooth, alot smoother then Pegasus So we rode the ride twise and walked to Zues. When we walked to Zues, there was a almost full train but found some back seats. On the back car we noticed that the padding on one side was missing and that there screws sticking out And later on in the day we say some girls getting out in tears because her arm got scratched up. So at 12:30 we finally went to Hades. There was a 2 train wait then but it got better through out the day. One thing I noticed about Hades is that the one turn that goes by the station has become VERY rough. The rest of the ride has also become, not rough, but very jerky. Its still pretty smooth but alot of the turns have become somewhat painful. Alot of the ride, I found myself grabbing onto hand rail because I didnt want to puncture my kidney Actually a lot of the rides have become a little painful since last year but its not getting too bad. Also, the ops at Hades did not let me bring my camera on the ride. So the rest of the day, we did some go-carts and the flats. OK, I decided to go on the robo-coaster and I did level 5. So when the arm was getting close to the platform, A little kid put a quarter in the sprayer thing. So I sat there in the ride with a little girl getting me soaked and I couldn't do anything! There is a pic of me soaked from that little girl So before we left, we went on Hades one more time. On the one hill that goes by the station, that really rough one, my friends glasses flew off from the airtime and shakiness. So he went home beign almost blind So the day wasnt so bad, but thanks to some rain and a holiday weekend. there was little crowds and lots of Hades rides!
Reon Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 All of you are dissing Opa. So what? This place is home to a bunch of good go-cart tracks, and 2 world class woodies (Cyclops and Hades) So what if thier mouse isnt the best? On that note *wallpapers last photo* So...much...wooden...goodness Glad you made it to such an awesome park. Unfortunately I dont know when Im going to Wisconsin again, but I CANNOT wait to go back to Mt O and ride all the new stuff (and take a few laps on Cyclops...and Hades I guess)
